We get messages from cool Honda people all the time. Recently we received an email from one of our RUclips friends. Mark McKenzie from @HondaStreetGarage asked us what we think would be the best way to K swap a GE Fit. Hasport Performance did a K swap on a GE Fit for @TomOGorman a while back, so Brian is quite familiar with them. Here he breaks down what he knows about the swap and what the best options are. It's happening! The wealth of knowledge for the GE8 is making it's way to the interwebs and school of RUclips. I've owned my GE8 Honda Fit since I bought it new August of 2011. I've been waiting for this type of information for a long time. A project will be underway soon.
Keep us posted on the swap & cost! I’m looking at either an FA5 or GE8 but the Fit’s tend to be in much better shape thanks! 😊
@@CancelledMcCree funny you mention fa5 and ge8 as I happen to have both. Dropped a frankie in the fa5 and sought out this content to see if I could use the k20z3 for this project. 😂
I know what you mean man. I've got cars people don't look at for mods so it's hard to find videos about it. I try to make those videos myself on RUclips because knowledge like this is meant to be scared

Had my a GD over a decade now and love it, but still excited for GE content! Still holding out for the other K series trans mount for the GD chassis before diving into this project.

I’m glad this video is made because I’ve alway love the 2005 si but never even thought of the fit. But they kinda look the same. So now I’m looking for a fit to buy!
You mentioned the possibility of using CRZ axles… There was a comprehensive write up I read on the net regarding swapping all the crz suspension into a GE and the author noted the overall track of the front end was 5mm wider on both sides- hence the swap in hopes of improved handling on a course. He reused the oem GE axles without reporting an issue.
The k-series axles for CRZ do Fit he fit but are a tad bit longer. So on turns i felt vibration. I have both K-swapped CRZ and Fit. Once my Fit axle got broken, so i used CRZ one and was near hald inch longer.

@@SylasG now insaneshafts have listed axles for Fit 2009+ models using k24 half shaft in k swaps. This is very imortant as k24 half shaft/intermediate shaft is near 1.5 inch longer than a k20 one

@@danielpelaez9978 For GD Fit there is lot already available from mounts to axles, almost everything k-related. thats why i did not cover that in my channel

Please do this! The GE8 has so little information with regards to K-swaps, we need a good reliable source of info for a start to finish swap! I have a Sprintex supercharger in now, but want a K24 in there.

I was just starting to think about my GD build was thinking a Haltech Elite 1500 with a K seris engine harness pigtailing the sensor wires to the existing ECU to drive the dash and AC. I will be adding a Merc racing supercharger to the L seris motor. Not going to K swap if at all possible. I happen to like the little 1.5 litre such a free reving little beast. Just a fun project for me not a serious racing project.
I also have a GD. Supercharger sounds like the way to go.

We have AWD fit in Bahamas being crushed 😢. JDM models . I only ever see USDM swap info.

I have made an 18 part video series for k-Swap in CRZ/Fit. Do check out when you have time becasue each part is quite lenghty. covers almost everything from start to finish
always wanted to go k series, but it was impractical as it was my daily and any down time was out of the question. but maybe in the future ill own one. purchasing an ef Dx 5 speed and have the option to have it down for up to a month getting b or k swapped, so maybe when its down ill buy a fit again and start the k or j swap journey

Fit is out of luck for bolt on axles. Neither Accord nor Si axles fit. They are too long. I tried many. Event i ordered Insaneshaft ones and one is way shorter and one is way longer. I have to make custom axles by cutting the axle shafts. Now Insaneshafts ahve added a new model for Fits. But i am not sure they will fit or not

Great great great info! I needed this. I’m in the process of buying a fit right now and I’m trying to immediately buy a k series for it but didn’t know which one to go with. AK24z out of a 2012-15 SI basically the way to go, but I heard they aren’t the best for tuning or something like that because of the unique intake built into the head. But aside from that it’s the best one to go with is what your saying. Please drop another update video for this car please !
I’m looking up k24z engines and the cheapest one I found was $9500 USD. Other k24’s sell for a 5th of that.

If you can please document the manual swap or could you create a list for everything needed?? Very interested in doing a manual swap as well on my '13!
In terms of ge fit, does it matter on the spec of fit, 1.3 or 1.5? A 1.3 manual can be bought for cheap but a rs still seems to be a bit more.

What about using a 2.0 turbo from a 2018-22 honda accord? Use the engine and manual transmission.

Hello, I have a 2007 Honda Fit GE8 RS from Japan in Canada, recently imported. It's the Automatic CVT with paddle shifters. I want to do a USDM swap but not 100% sure how. If you guys do a manual swap on this one it will give me an idea on parts I need to do mine. Cheers.
Can't find any information on people doing the kswap but keeping an automatic trans.. Would it be possible and retain the paddle shifters?

Why not use the ecu that comes with the new engine?

Hasport has mount and axles. I'm not sure if any makes an adapter harness yet. The ECU is a Honda ECU. 2008-9 Accord preferably. 09 TSX works too.
