  • Ryan has a new race car but first it has to do street car things. Normally a noise would clue him in to a problem but this time its the lack of valve noise that indicated it was time for an adjustment. So he figured he would bring you along for the ride, show you the tools, show you the way and hopefully help you get your Fit running as good as it can.

    Excellent video... my car was stalling at first couple stops as well. I just finished doing this and im about to put it together. Hopefully this fixes the cold start stall issue. Thanks a lot ill update in a few days. I recommend changing all the gaskets in the intake manifold including the EGR Chamber gasket. These engines are very reliable and excellent gas savers.

    Super clear and well thought out video, thank you for sharing!
    One question on the reassembly, is there a reusable valve cover gasket or did you have to use hondabond?

    • @MrWoopadeedo
      @MrWoopadeedo 5 месяцев назад +2

      I had a new valve cover gasket I installed the first time I adjusted the valves. I didn’t use any sealant on it. You will see a little bit around the timing cover but if there’s not a ridge you can catch with your fingernail you don’t need it.

    Great video man
    Would this be the same process for a 2006 Honda Jazz.
    Im having the exact same problem when i engage drive or reverse, a lot of shaking and wanting to turn off.

    I bought my Honda FIT 2009 at 143,000 miles, now its 227,000. I don't think it ever had a valve adjustment and the car still runs fine.

    have a 2019 fit slowly making ticking sounds over the years getting worse and its only during winter time it does it 40 degres or colder, once the car warms up the ticking sound goes away and it's fine, during the summer time it doesn't make the sound at all,only 55k miles on it.

    • @oioracing
      @oioracing  4 месяца назад +1

      Ticking is good. Ticking means that they're probably adjusted correctly. It's when they get quiet that you need to worry. Still, its a pretty simple job to do just for a little insurance.

    What is the Nm to lock the tightness of the screws?

    • @MrWoopadeedo
      @MrWoopadeedo 3 месяца назад +1

      Honda doesn’t list a torque spec in my information, but generic torque for a 6mm bolt/nut is 12Nm
