baught one few weeks ago from cabelas. the bow itself was shooting fine with no issues yet. i must put over a hundred round through it already. didnt like the scope that came with the bow package so i switch it out with the killer instinct lumix speedring 1.5-5x32 IR-E scope. shooting 150gr broadhead with the arrow that came with the package and was hitting bulleyes out to 40yrd. i think they need to redesign the quiver though. suppose to hold 4 bolts but you can only carry 2 bolts with broadhead in quiver. the 2 outter with broad head insert will not fit in quiver unless you really force it in cutting the side of quiver, something i prefer not to do. i like to carry all 4 bolts with broadhead insert while out in the field hunting.

I bet that if every person who commented on here a month ago would give another update review on the Vital X, it would be negative! Every body that I know who owned one, no longer likes this crossbow! It does not shoot tight groups at all, including arrows that are spine indexed. The cable slide is also junk and allows the serving line to come undone sooner than it should. I owned two of these and they both got sent back to Cabelas thank goodness! If you're going to buy a KI crossbow, buy the Swat X1

got mine off the ups truck today and i can not get riser completely down on barrel . this is my 4th xbow and 2nd ki in 15+ years. generally, getting cable slide in there right is the biggest hastle along with getting good flush fit to barrel....but i am about to surrender with this vital x! gently tried to wrestle it on, then softly beating stock on carpeted floor, lastly several hours trying to get it to seat with rubber end of gunsmith hammer. barely budged it and still need another 3/8 of an inch....it is like someome doped it up with super glue when i wasn't looking. i noticed you were having to fight yours as well in video. any ideas....is it the hefty pressure of the new design with cables and string putting barrel/riser in frictional bind. should i try wd 40, etc, on connection, then tap some more with gunsmith hammer's rubber end? try tapping it back off ththere. lube and try again???? your advice is much appreciated. would like to blame the chinese for it, but not sure they or me in the wrong this time! thanks !!!!

Hey Don! I’m happy you reached out as I figured out a pretty solid way to get that riser on (in my opinion). If you add the foot stirrup on first, you can use that to apply side pressure and help the riser slide on. Check out this thread I started for info and photos that may help: www.crossbownation.com/threads/vital-x-assembly-pro-tip.135895/page-2#post-1731849

thanks for getting back to me! got it on last night after realizing plastic gasket block was not lined up against rail correctly. appears rail cable slide slot in has more flex to it than one would think....that's what you were counter-acting with stirrup preassure. i thus got cables/slide started first then inserted plastic block next till it oroperly seated, then pushed in next. however after getting riser started i still lacked the same 3/8 to 1/2 inch movement to get it all the way seated. resorted to gently tapping back side of riser with 4 pound plastic covered inertia hammer from menards ...bought couple of years ago for gun stuff. slowly but surely it seated near all the way down and allen head bolt closed slight remaining gap. used rag on allen wrench to get better finger leverage over the two included washers. don't think it's going anywhere. i'm like you....thinking pressure of cables and string is what causes difficulty, but if riser hole is drilled the slightest bit under dimentioned and/or off centerd, then likely same effect/problem with seating. same deal if steel barrel/rail extention is over sized or slightest bit off centered. not sure if any of these tollerance issues effect grouping out to 60 yds or so. just is a pain trying to get it all together without beating the shit out of it! parallel limb/cable design might also increase those fitment pressures/forces as well. will let you know how all works out compared to my present ki 380 bow.thanks again for quick insight/help!!!!@@mountainbuck
