Hello lovelies, today I will be revealing Princess Diana's Diet and everything she ate in a day.
Princess Diana's struggle with bulimia was no secret, but after splitting from Prince Charles in 1992, the People's Princess embarked on a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle.
Her former head chef Darren McGrady previously opened up about the changes saying, "By the time I moved to Kensington Palace, the Princess had already confronted the bulimia and talked about it in the hope that other people would do. She got her life back on track. She was working out at the gym every day, looking the best she ever did. She had changed; she was now a healthy eater." He went on to share an insight into exactly what she ate and when.
What did Princess Diana eat for breakfast?
According to an interview in the Saturday Evening Post in 1989, Diana started the day with grapefruit, muesli, and a piece of toast.
By the time Darren had joined Diana on her wellness journey, she had started introducing more decadent foods. Darren says one of her favorite dishes was "an Egg Suzette, which was a baked potato scooped out with wilted spinach in the bottom and a poached egg on top and then a little hollandaise sauce, a tiny amount, with some potatoes piped around the edges."
What did Princess Diana eat for lunch?
McGrady recalls one of Diana's favorite lunchtime meals as bell peppers stuffed with courgette, mushroom, rice, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese with a scoop of smoked tomato pepper sauce.
What did Princess Diana eat for dinner?
In 1981, a care home in Johannesburg, South Africa, wrote to members of the royal family asking for their favorite recipes to collate as part of a cookbook. Response from Diana's private secretary Oliver Everett was unveiled in January 2020, stating that her go-to was a Ukrainian beetroot soup bowl. It listed the following ingredients: beetroot, natural yogurt, onions, chicken stock, milk, sour cream, salt, and pepper.
Darren added that "The Princess never ate much red meat. She never ate beef, never ate pork, occasionally she'd have lamb when she was entertaining guests, but for the most part, it was chicken, fish or vegetarian options."Condiment-wise, Diana requested Darren avoid heavy sauces and creams, but she did allow herself a sweet dessert: bread and butter pudding. "She would have a small portion now and then," explained Darren. "And only when William and Harry were at home; she wouldn't request it when she was alone."

In 1994, I was given a secret mission on behalf of Her Royal Highness Princess Diana (as she then was), that about now, REGARDLESS OF CIRCUMSTANCE, I shall come out shouting: PRINCE CHARLES IS SATAN.
“PRINCE CHARLES IS SATAN”
(I am neither to add nor remove from the mission, which is exactly as stated - except to say, so that people don’t come to incorrect deductions - this mission was AUTHORISED, BY HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND)

@@Mitzuoyan what.
@@michaeljingo5410 uhh you ok man??
Don't forget , Di was close to 6 ft tall, makes a difference!!!. And did ballet based exercises, as she'd wanted to be a ballerina, but was classed as too tall!!!.
You poor things. I wish you find food freedom
ANd don't forget, she also had a major eating disorder. Most of this information about her 'diet' is likely utter nonsense. She binged and purged for years.
Diana offering to make her CHEF a coffee because she could see he was busy tells you all you need to know about Princess Diana. One of the most down to earth people within the Royal Family.
She was selfless and always thought of other people
If you eat in moderation and don’t snack allot, plus daily or routine excercise you can almost eat whatever you want. Keep moving and eat sensible and most people are fine.
Sooo true. I lost 6kg by only eating slower and feeling when I get full.
@@oana23dragutz I am trying this now. It is quite liberating.
Weight wise maybe, but I’m a firm believer that calories aren’t equal and the quality of food has an impact on skin/mental health/body composition
@@TheKeyanna of course. That’s why I said eat sensible & in moderation . I would never suggest a diet of junk. I figured that was just implied.
Unfortunately it couldn’t be further from the truth, exercise isn’t going to protect you from heart disease and cancer, exercise won’t clear the plaques from your arteries caused by animal products. This is why you see young and fit athletes and generally active people suddenly die from heart attacks and strokes. Eating whatever so long as you are active is a myth.
I miss Diana. Extraordinary lady.
Her eating disorder recovery is astonishing. I'm glad she was able to make it back to health. ❤
What's with this war on carbs 😒 I eat carbs & starches all day long (well, at dinner and snacks) and I've lost over 200 lbs. It's all about portion control.
It seems to get the weight off quickly for people, but then they regain it all back once they begin eating carbs again. Eating everything, including carbs, in moderation has helped me lose nearly 20 pounds.
One of the most beautiful faces that ever lived. A real princess with a heart.
I love hearing about her, she is just so incredibly down-to-earth. Imagine being that humble with your 'servants' and treating them like friends instead?
They were probably her only real, genuine friends.
She didn’t let her newfound power, fame, and wealth change her at all 💜
It was certainly a very light diet. Diana certainly did manage to keep slim once she started going to the gym. Sad she died so young. She did a lot of good work.
This was also her home diet. She did have to eat out. Although I am sure she likely only gave a taste to rich foods and focused on trying to eat the lighter choices.
I have anorexia\bulimia as well . I never knew Princess Diana suffered from this. She is my role model. Im trying to get better also. It's always a daily struggle.
You can do this... sending wonderful thoughts and prayers and prayers...
Same she’s my idol and ughh...her 80s body especially 1981-1985 body is so triggering....
@@BabyGirlRae52 thanks
I agree. Diana’s diet was very much of the time. Yes, today she’d be eating chia seeds and green smoothies. (Just a hunch)
I have also read that she loved yogurt and it was her "sweet snack ".
though Dodi al Fayed was her sweet snack
Milk in the U.K. doesn’t have all the hormones that American milk does, it tends to be fresher.
Same in Canada. Pretty sure the USA has the unhealthiest milk in the world.
The hormones in milk are unavoidable because it is milk from a mammal designed to help their babies grow
I like goat milk it’s healthier
In order for any mammal to produce milk it has to be impregnated, just like a human mammal. These animals are constantly impregnated and their baby taken away so that people can drink the milk from a different species from themselves ( which is weird, would you drink rats milk? ) The milk is full of hormones , especially estrogen ( which is linked to cancers such as breast and prostate ) and is designed to grow a baby calf into a very large animal. It also has casomorphines to make sure the calf returns to feed from the mother. It is a dangerous substance for a human but very good for the calf, they are the only animals that Mother Nature intended to drink it.
This is why I drink oat milk or almond milk instead
I lived near Watford London at the time of her death. I remember running up The embankment next to the m25 on the day of the funeral, and saw the funeral cortège drive by.
While she conquered her bulimia I don't think she actually ate that healthily. She ate healthy foods but it's so low on calories for how active her life was.
Diana dealt with so much stress, pressure and disappointments, I felt her bulimia was a response to it all. Lovely woman, always sad that she couldn’t contribute to her causes later in life (especially AIDS).
Michael Jingo the Queen is the devil too
Beet soup has nothing to do with Germany (i live in Germany) .Beet soup is popular in: Russia,Poland, Rumania and Ukraine 😊
my dad is German and ate it all the time as a child. My Oma always made it for me
@@Laurajaneatelier Well depends which region in Germany, maybe people who lives near Poland .
I would love to be able to put my order in for the chef every day! I think it would be much easier to eat healthy if someone else did the cooking, and I couldn’t go back for seconds.
It's a shame she was taken from us so young. Rest in peace Princess
I read some of these comments on this diet videos and understand why so many slim/fit women lie about what they do to stay that way. Everyone wants to look at beautiful women but nobody wants to hear about how they eat small portions and exercise.
Gosh Diana is Vintage? I feel so Old 😂
Lol yup 90s and back is now vintage
Na just ICONIC
We're going to start seeing Paris Hilton's vintage diet here soon 😂 time be like that
Me too
Me three!
Her diet seems to be really close to the Weight watchers diet in the 70s, especially the breakfast in the first interview
She was a beautiful soul inside and out. God rest her soul. Amen From her friends down-under. 🇦🇺 Thank you Laura Jane you did an outstanding post.
She’s such an elegant woman who Charles never deserved her. Rest easy Diana the people’s princess
Charles was hideous to her.
It sounds like she just moved to another form of restriction and never fully recovered :/
Her diet, or her controlled life, or both perhaps?
@@JennsCorner777 I'm sure her life impacted her diet and mental health! Hearing how she struggled with an eating disorder and then "healed and got super healthy" with extremely strict foods, strict exercise, etc....she may have gotten better nutrients but it sounds like she was still suffering from a restriction based eating disorder, just acting in a way that's more socially acceptable. :/ just sad to hear
@@janicew9 Yeah pretty much as if she tweaked it to fit the "healthy norm". So sad. Maybe it was a lose lose as in if she ate like everyone else, she would be criticized by the royal family and tabloids if she gained and if she continued to be unhealthy she would have gotten flack for that as well. That could have been as healthy as she could be given the intense microscope she was under. Just awful.
This girl.suffered and to discuss this food in relation to Diana is patronising ,
@@NobodyOwens_72 ...why? And if thats how you feel, why watch a video thats titled to be about her food?
Crazy that we're so old now that Diana is considered to be vintage, but I guess her diet (like everyone else's you've profiled) is a reflection of the fads and trends of the days they lived in. I agree, milk drinking is now out but otherwise she'd be following the same diet if she were alive today.
Sorry but all of that is disordered eating, bulimia is incredibly difficult to recover from
I think that's what a lot of bulimics do at least it's what i did. I've been recovered for 6 years. Thank goodness
Another big hit !! who out there did not love princess Dianna ? We love you for bringing us the wonderful stories
I wish I could eat like she did but the only princess I’ll probably ever be is of Taco Bell 😂👑
awww Missy...What a silly girlie you are, & I love it... *: )*

Rhonda O Oc oh wow your comment. Thank you. I continue to struggle from time to time so that makes sense, thank you.
@@greyerbaby3323 Welcome
There is recovery from food addiction. Anorexia and bulimia. I suffered from both.
@@greyerbaby3323 All the best on your recovery and I rush you all the best in life. ❤️👍
eh i feel like i'm better
i don't know why, but the way she talks about the food makes it more appetising 😅
Diana was special. She is vintage to me, I was very young when she died. May she rip.
I just loved her ❤️ she was like our British mom, so warm and loving.
Interesting how back in the day eating simple staple foods were the norm. There's no kale and quinoa salads, protein shakes or vegan sausages on the menu then.
Great job on this video. Diana was a beautiful soul. God bless her.💗
I love this channel, the historical context is great.
Thank you for sharing! Diana was a lovely and beautiful person! 🌹
Oh my I loved this video! Thank you for sharing.
She was so beautiful inside & out! I had admired Diana 💗✨
we have different food laws in the UK so i don't think farmers are allowed to inject hormones into cows, so our milk doesn't contain growth hormones (- apparently they are banned) so this isn't really an issue in the UK
Thank you once again, for another interesting utube clip. I love these dips into the lives of famous women we love ane respect.
If you eliminate refined sugar & soda from your dietary lifestyle, the weight will rapidly melt off immediately.
Totally loved this laura, what an awesome video.. very sad .
Can you do something about Farrah Fawcett?
It's easy when you have chef
Bread and Butter pudding is one of my favourite deserts 😊 oh what a wonderful woman
The dishes she ate after her recovery sound so delicious. Like something I would love to eat as well.
Fantastic, very interesting story!✌🇨🇦💖
Your content is very intresting 🤗 It’s really a good idea 👍 I loved it, just keep doing! 🧡🧡🧡
I love Princess Diana💞
Poor Diana, so so heartbreaking.
Really good video! So interesting
I love Diana ❤️ will you please do a video about her style please x
the funny thing is none of its a problem- It’s about portion control & balancing your diet ! ( unless you have a medical cause for restriction- you shouldn’t ) i’ve lost and gained it all back - a consistent well balanced diet is key ..
I will never forget where I was when:
*9/11 happened
*Princess Diana died
*Geri left the Spice Girls
I still have my whole milk with my favorite cereal Special K with strawberries. I love milk, drink it all the time and I am over 50.
I'm 51 and drink milk and love my dairy.Nothing goes better than dunking a shortbread biscuit in a milky hot Milo.
LOVE THIS SERIES ON PRINCESS DIANA 👑, especially with the series out on The Crown on Netflix. Thank You! 🙏🏼 🥹 The history comes alive on your channel 📺

She admitted she was Bulimic. She later admitted she ate gallons of ice cream and then vomit it up.
Can u vomit ice cream?
@@anacatandbosshog7116 14 years bulimic here- it is the easiest food to vomit
@@pepsicolababy5834 honestly, how. I've struggled with bulimia for 8 years and I find ice cream to be awful to throw up, even though like 90 percent of bulimics online say it's the best. I hope you're doing better now!
AnacatAndBosshog duh!! You can vomit water haha... you can vomit anything that you eat\drink
The teeth.
I love those tea plates you have.

yall write a book about my dietary habits! ritalin at breakfast, nicotine at lunch, wine at dinner
The fingers completely missing the handle of the spoon @1:19 made me laugh 😂😂😂
Milk is definitely different than it was in the 80s and 90s. Great video.
Yessssss 😍
Beautiful vid, love your content and the way you shared Diana’s insights 💕 she will be forever dearly missed.
Can you please do a video on Empress Sissi of Austria?
Hello lovely Laura,
Thank you for sharing this wonderful video on Princess Diana! It’s so interesting to find out about her diet and that she ate red beet soup! It’s called Borscht in Ukrainian. I’m originally from Kiev, Ukraine 🇺🇦. I came here with my parents, brother, and grandma over 40 years ago in 1980. My mother makes the best red beet Borscht soup 🥣! ♥️♥️♥️ it’s very tasty. You’re amazing Laura!
Best wishes,
Inna ♥️🎀💄🍒🌠👜🌻🌷🌹
Really interesting
Laura, was just wondering if you could do Natalie Wood,or Lana Turner, Kim Novak, just surprise us
Maybe I’m just a weirdo but I have milk with my breakfast almost everyday
Beautiful Diana 😍
That stuffed pepper looks really delicious. Rest easy Diana ❤️
that potato with egg looks really yammyyy
Thank you, that was very interesting! I didn't know she liked Ukrainian borsch for dinner. I love it too, but prefer eating it for lunch.😀
I still drink milk with cinnamon in the morning😋
I do at night with turmeric and cinnamon
@@anosjc oh wow. How interesting! Do you literally just put a bit of each in the glass of milk?? I’d like to try this!
@@finlaymackenzie6678 you can add a bit of both while you heat the milk

Hello Laura, I want to ask some questions is that I have seen your vintage perfume video that you make earlier so my question is how to apply dabber style perfume and how your parents apply that perfumes specially your father. Are he put on clothes or skin because it's stains clothing
I would drop dead on this diet my god
Great videos, shame the music on the background is always the same.

Beet soup... borscht! Borscht! Borscht!
The beet soup is called borsch
In the 80s & 90s there was a big push for milk drinking. You showed some of the “got milk?”ads. They thought you needed milk & bread in your diet to be healthy
We drink milk for breakfast because its quick. But ours is straight from the cow, raw. Tastes completely different from that other stuff
“Core-get” 😅😂
Please make one for Sophia Loren
Great video! That type of soup is both Russian and Ukrainian
I can relate to her usual shunning of red meat. With the exception of spaghetti, my husband is the reason my meats aren't strictly chicken and fish.
In Britain, our milk is different. Probably like USA oraganic milk. We don't put sugar in it
She was really beautiful lady
