The thing with the G80 is it does have heritage. Look at the BMW Garmisch concept designed by Marcello Gandini. It has the same style grills as it does now. It looks like BMW played with the design to bring it back.
@@HMDriven Thanks for the comment and educating me on this. I definitely see the resemblance, but to base a new design language based on an old concept is a pretty bold breakaway. Here's something I appreciate about the G80... next to any BMW, it looks bold and it makes all last generation M cars look old. However... it's not quite beautiful with all the non intersecting cuts. It's a mash of smooth roundedness and sharp creases and angles. Thank again. I learned something.
Everybody says the new interior is ugly, until everybody wish to get the LCI.Its like when this car was launched and now this model is the most selling one.
I hear a lot of "its growing on me" or "it looks better in person" but it's just simply atrocious of a design. Your rendering is very similar to evolve's and both looks a bit off.
it's warming up to me, but the new M is not on my list of cars I'm gonna try to buy. It just feels like a compromise. It's not as compelling of a combo as previous M cars. I'm sure i'd like it, but I'd get tired of trying to justify why it looks the way it looks to the average joe who thinks it's ugly.
@@TheDailyDriver I have an F80 M3CS and I probably won't ever sell. The only thing I really wish I had is all of the cool tech from the G80 like keyless start, phone remote, etc.
@@Boosted30v i'm sure somebody will bring those new tech to market soon for the f-gen. Any time BMW comes out with something cool on the new cars, they seem to trickle down via aftermarket for the old. And... the f80 is a timeless beauty.
What do you guys think of the new G80 and my version? Let me know. =) Be Nice.
It's an improvement, but I feel like it needs a little more. Maybe those little canards like the f80/m2.
