The holy trinity is made up nonsense. Patek and AP are easily displaced by JLC, ALS, FPJ, etc.
@@user-qi6zo2fn7p als is German and has no history, its the holy trinity of Swiss watchmakers. Fpj also has no history which is why it isn't in the trinity.

Absolutely stunning watch from the 'Watchmaker's Watchmaker' Almost speechless as to how awesome it looks and the quality of the finish...
The finish is good but ti's not the best I've seen. There are a number of imperfections/flaws to the finish. I list them in another post.
For anyone still not convinced: Google how much any minute repeater from Patek Philippe is and compare the their specs with the ones of this watch and you will understand.

What has me taken here, is that it's clearly a mechanically focussed piece, a way for Jaeger to show off how superb their work can be, but it is achingly beautiful too. Some of the show-off pieces from Pattek look gaudy and in some ways ugly compared to their reserved and classy usual work.

Director’s cut? Seriously I’d love to se this video with the sound of the watch captured without the voiceover. Presumably the video nerds (intended with affection) could make that happen. This doesn’t have to be a sensation for the eyes only; the ears could be similarly satisfied!

Another excellent video with expert commentary. Very informative and entertaining as always. Thank you Watchfinder. I wonder if there is a video of a Tag Heuer Formula One Chronograph from the series with the 'Official Timekeeper of the FIA F1 World Championship' stamped on the caseback. I hear the quartz movements in those are far superior than those found in the current F1 model series.
If I was looking for an F1 themed/related piece I'd look at a Casio Edifice Scuderia Toro Rosso vs. that Tag Heuer. Believe it or not Casio does make some fine timepieces.
For a Minute Repeater this watch would be right up there. A beauty.
Reverso duo night & day- an Art Deco masterpiece. Truly one of the greatest watchmakers of all time. I have always preferred to Patek.

JLC is my alternative if i can't afford ALS before i die
The true alternative to ALS is Glashutte Original. Same heritage, same watchmaking philosophy and technique, more accessible price, more value.
@@lucioledizerot196 True, one could argue that Glashutte Original is the German version of JLC now. So many innovations like the PanoRetroGraph, etc but nobody gives them enough credit for their capability. Perhaps GO has also more handfinish then lower end JLCs

JLC's gyro tourbillion is a marvel of mechanical watch making to say the least. But I find that the truest materialization of the words "gyro tourbillion" was done by Zenith.
I'll probably die before seeing either of them 😂
@@jimmyjay122 Not to be pedantic but the movement you are referring to in the Christophe Colomb is not a tourbillon. The movement is a "gyroscopic escapement" to be exact. This is a different movement mechanically with the wheel train contained within the gyroscopic module whilst a gyrotourbillon has the wheel train outside of the gyro mechanism. The gyrotourbillon is a design owned and patented by JLC with a handful of licensees like Jacob & Co.

I agree the Master Grande Tradition Gyrotourbillon Westminster is as close to perfection as is obtainable. It's the finest timepiece JLC has ever made and one of the greatest in the history of haute horology.
At a million dollars though it should be perfect!

A masterpiece between engineering and art... demostrates how long the human being can go. No limits.
A video that was almost, yes only almost perfect, can you re-shoot but this time don't talk over the chimes, and use the repeater function again in the video, just so that we can listen to that beautiful sound. What a watch, it is just superb, that movement is extraordinary, love it.

When you're dealing with luxury you don't need high volume. Just ask any exotic car dealership how many cars they sell for a month, I'll be surprised if it's more than 10. And that's fine.

It's not. Just because it doesn't have the name nor the brand image to back it up. People buy these kind of watches to flex. What good is it to buy a superior watch when hardly anyone you try to flex on knows what it is.

Most people don't even know PF, if you buy anything else than rolex you're bound to not flex on the average person. And that's good, because I, like many others, love mechanical watches for other reasons than social prestoge

Just because the french can't pronounce the German word "Jaeger" (which means "hunter") you don't have to copy the nonsense! Pronounce it like" Yeager" - please!! Don't sound like a fool for people who knows more than 1 language.

fyi, OLED from LG are made out of
luminescence powder made in germany. LG was hellbend to make the contract with Merck to secure it's market position. Any manufacturer could have made the displays but only one company can make the powder. Credit where credit is due.
