Thanks; that was interesting and enjoyable. Great loco.
As it might have been part of the friction problem, it might be an idea to oil the motor and any other bearings and gears, then to exhaustively run the loco minus body shell and in both directions with a load, then feel for heat build-up.
Re fibreglass brushes; be careful to wear safety specs and NOT to get bristle particles on your hands and inadvertantly rub them into your eyes. I'm not sure they can be removed with certainty??? It is so very easy to get caught, and it happens so quickly; all of a sudden you know you are in trouble. My tech mate warned me; dangerous tool. Worth finding another cleaning system - the meths was probably enough, or shellite used outside and away from any flame. Dremel had/have? a non-steel brush wheel that would probably work. The stainless wheel would probably wear away the nickel on the wheel tyres. Use safety glasses and run at moderate speed as per instructions. As ever Shakespeare found the words 'My kingdom for stainless steel tyres' That's right, isn't it? Greetings to Graham below.
Excellent work dan 👏 lovely loco
What a gorgeous loco Dan and such a shame that Pete had to trade it in, it looked very reminiscent of a Wrenn loco I’ve got. Glad you got it working as it should though - we’ll done once again! 👏👏👏
Beautiful locomotive looks great in br blue
What nice locomotives Dan
Great see run at trains for you
Looks a nice loco well done Dan.
Hi Dan.
Brilliant job as always Dan.
Would have loved to keep it, but I have a layout to run my locos not just stare at them.
Hope it goes to a good home.
Thanks again Dan.
Stay safe buddy.
Pete.
Excellent stuff
I've been tempted to get one of the last DJH kits, particularly the GWR 1366, and seeing how well made this example turned out isn't helping.
I should see if it the small tank can handle 1st radius, if this model is anything to go by.
good vid nice work on cool loco thanks lee
Just to add to your superb video what type of motor was installed?
Right trailing driver is running out.
