A few things, having port injection and a upgraded HPFP is overkill plus the exhaust cam on Gen 2 B58’s don’t like upgraded hpfp’s it throws the exhaust cam target off and tuner is forced to raise oil pressure to keep it on target. Are you running the PR AFS lpfp? I would imagine ur lpfp should be in the 70’s psi across going WOT and not in the 60’s. Also you want to be looking looking at boost psi and boost target RAM to actually see what Shoup set ur boost at not the regular boost target without the ram
@@BartjeMssls there are a few different issues with a upgraded hpfp on a Gen 2 car. In some cases the oil pump can’t keep up with the demand the tuner pushes the oil pump to control the exhaust cam. The other thing is when the exhaust cam goes off target the factory DME automatically throws boost at the engine to compensate which causes over boosting. I personally seen it go over 10 psi over target boost on my personal car. Upgraded HPFP is a great upgrade for Gen 1 cars, port injection is the way to go on TU cars.
@@dieselstud2k6 what weight oil do you run if you don’t mind me asking? Are the vanos units on the s58 so much different to be able to run 2 pumps or would it be a different oil pump?
I ran out of gas in my moms x5 50i and thats excactly what happened to us and the drivetrain malfunction light came on and we thought it was something worse and we just realized she ran it on an empty tank

Told ya dude it’s so easy down in VS we do it everyday. We did my top mount in 2 hours, PI and LPFP in 5, all hooked up rockin on reflex

Does the oil pressure need to be raised to the point it becomes a problem?
I am running the PR AFS Lpfp! Shoup has it set to the industry standard. And I know the hpfp upgrade is overkill but it’s a solid safety net 😎
