    Hi Holl, thanks for your absolutely precise and clear tips. I only have 2 blocks to start using them: 1) Were you talking about fill-in form on Indeed or a file which could be uploaded? 2) If you update your online resume on Indeed for some company, will it affect my application to another company? In other words, how to create multiple resumes on Indeed?

  • @overrooftops

    The tutorial just listed "Holl - Indeed" at the beginning. Is your name "Holly?"
    Anyways, I watched your resume tutorial to the end. You are a great speaker and gave good advice.
    Question: Can someone upload 2 entirely different resumés to Indeed? For example, I have over 35 years work experience teaching English and am always seeking new students. On the other hand, I would also like to upload a resume that shows my 30 years experience working with Mac computers and my desire to help anyone having problems understanding them. Two different careers here. I have googled this scenario and have so far come up empty handed. Can you help? Thanks 🙏! -Rob

  • @ruisanamiranda

    Hi. Great insight, thanks for sharing. I'm off to redesign and rewrite my boring CV :)
    About your advice to include SPECIFIC goals or targets (numbers included!) one may have achieved while working for an employer.
    Won't that become disclosure of sensitive information about the employer organization?
    Personal example:
    Under my management and responsibility, the Tech team reduced the ticket TTR (Time To Resolution) from 3 DAYS to 4 HOURS.
    My reluctance:
    In this example, the company I work(ed) for, had a ridiculously high TTR in the past, meaning for lots of internal problems! Shouldn't I think twice before sharing that information with someone?
    I hope I can get an answer or opinions

    Hi, thank you for this video, is it important to include self employment in my resume?

    • @Indeed
      @Indeed  3 года назад +1

      Adding in self employment can have many benefits, especially if the work you did directly relates to the jobs you are applying to, or if your self employment was the only work you were doing it at the time and leaving it off would create a significant employment gap on your resume. -CC

    I earned my BA at a foreign university and working on my master's degree at Kansas State University. Should I list my foreign university in my resume? If yes, how to avoid geographic/location/country/race etc. bias?

    • @Indeed
      @Indeed  2 года назад

      As a general rule, you should list your bachelor's degree. Nevertheless, there are a few things you can do to mitigate bias. First, be sure to include your master's degree from Kansas State (and it should be listed first). For the graduation date, you can put the anticipated date. For your BA, only include what is generally considered to be the most vital information - BA + area of study, university name, location (city & country for non-US institutions), and graduation date. Here are some more tips on composing the Education section of your resume - indeedhi.re/3nbstoE. -CC

    Thank you for a great video. Two comments/observations:
    01) Please cut down on the up-speak. I know it has become common ground today (as has vocal fry), but it does not sound professional and has the appearance of a lack of confidence or self-esteem, which is the case of most people I've encountered that do it.
    02) I disagree with your enhanced version of task listings: "Produced career advice videos", upgraded to "Wrote, presented, and published (12) career advice videos per quarter to support Indeed's mission of helping all people get jobs."
    I don't think you need to spend valued space giving the reason, or basis, for the work ("Indeed's mission of helping all people get jobs"). This isn't Indeed's resumé.
    Space may be better utilized indicating the # of subscribers or views in a given timeframe.
    All-inclusives such as "all", "every", "never", etc do not belong on a resumé. Also, "get jobs"? If you must, "achieve employment" does take more space, but IMO, sounds more professional.

    How to add an additional resume on indeed? I have created a resume but cannot figure out how to add the second one. It allows me just to edit the first resume.

    • @quantomrizzics
      @quantomrizzics 2 года назад

      I don't think this advice is indeed specific. I think they're using general tips and so if you want multiple resumes you'll have to actually create multiple versions. So if you were looking in different fields you would have different general resumes. Construction, sales, design, etc. Then upload them individually to each job.
      It's kinda sick that they recommend something they don't have a feature for.
      I'm guessing the best way is to have the core stuff on your indeed profile and then upload your resume each time.
      Example your indeed profile could have all your assessments. Cover letter can be the actual resume.

    • @quantomrizzics
      @quantomrizzics 2 года назад

      Doesn't seem like you would apply with your indeed resume ever. Unless you want to use indeed for your main job search. Cutting out all the other stuff and having them in a folder on your Google drive.
      You could even create different indeed resumes for each field. Download the copy, then leave the official one on there for easy applications.

    • @XzctR
      @XzctR 2 года назад

      @@quantomrizzics thnx for a response. There are two ways
      1. Create multiple accounts
      2. Attach different resumes each time you apply for a job

    • @quantomrizzics
      @quantomrizzics 2 года назад

      @@XzctR yea the second option is better but I think using the indeed core keeps your assessments as part of your resumes. If you use your own resume then it wouldn't show all of the indeed assessments you took and the scores

    • @XzctR
      @XzctR 2 года назад

      @@quantomrizzics honestly I don't understand what concerns you. Have never heard about scores, just send my resume (pdf file) to everyone on the site and don't care about.

    I don't know about the US but in the UK the skills section is far more important than your employment history. I mean, it literally lists your key skills, the things employers are looking for. If you don't have the relevant skills the employment history is completely irrelevant. I found the advice in this video a bit dated.
