I had my pick of either a couple of days ago at my dealer. Having a 7 1/2" wrist the Black Bay 41mm was a no-brainer for me. I'm very happy with the watch.
Beautiful watch! I bought mine a week ago in red and absolutely adore it. The dial has a nice texture and color, golden/bronze hands and hour marks add a really nice touch and definitely adds some dimension. My wrist is not big at all (around 6.75") and it fits me perfectly. I actually went to my local store to try a bb58 first, but disliked the size of it right away, I don't care about the trends, it doesn't look good on a medium sized wrist, not even mentioning larger sizes. It is a little thick, but it doesn't feel bulky at all. I also in love with that yellowish lume color
Great review and I agree 100%. I've had my BB Heritage 41 for several years and love it. I'm 6'3" 225 lbs with a 7.5" wrist and this watch is perfect for me. I love a watch with "heft" and this has it. (Just added a BB Chrono reverse panda and love it as well - Tudor is on a roll!)
Agreed. I think the mix of silver and gold make the Heritage aesthetically more appealing than the 58, but reviewers never mention this. It’s definitely a more masculine piece than the 58.
I don’t understand the weird love for the BB58. I think the original BB black is a better looking watch with the white markings on the bezel. I think that watch bloggers and men’s fashion reviewers are just smaller guys with smaller wrists.
A minor quibble; that’s not the Black Bay 41. That’s the Heritage Black Bay which does, of course, have a 41mm case. The Black Bay 41 is the one without the bezel; the big brother to the BB 36 and 32.
No offence intended to anyone but if this watch is too thick and heavy it just means one may need to be doing some sort of arm curls in one's spare time.
As a heavier set guy, the 41mm BB fits me perfectly. It's thicc yeah, but I wore an older Breitling superocean daily for a year so it kinda got me used to wearing bigger watches. BB is actually smaller than my Breitling, the heritage bb is not even that big in the grand scheme of thing, even my skx wore bigger
I went to my AD this week and compared this model with the Submariner Date 41. This equaled the sub in quality, fit and finish and design. If I had to choose, I would choose this model. The fact that it's also $8,000 less than the sub is almost a miracle of engineering. I can't wait to get mine.
Went to a shop to see the black bay 58 but ended up with the black bay instead. It's my first higher end watch, and although the 58 was nice feeling since it was lighter and slimmer the black bay just fit me better. Especially if it is put on a nato strap, the 58 looks pretty small on my wrist in my opinion.
I'd you're above 7 inches in wrist size then anything below 40 will look ridiculous on you. Especially if your wrist span is quite long. I'm the same way and it's honestly kinda annoying to see a watch hyped to hell just to go into the store and see it when it ends up looking like a woman's watch on your wrist. The Tudor is a super, very well-made luxury timepiece and I appreciate its rather understated blue dial and bezel compared to the 'bling-blue' ceramic of my Omega Seamaster 300. The Tudor Heritage BB 41 seems all of a sudden to have lost it's mojo. But I'm not buying into this baloney. Wow, Tudor has a 39 mm version of the Black Bay. Good for us! But don't forget what got us to this point. And that is the Heritage BB 41. I think the video is right on the money. This 41 mm is still a great watch. Now, all of a sudden underrated and unloved? I like Leftfield products I actually don't like perfection!
Your comment is literally what I’ve been trying to tell my watch buddies. I tried the original 79230n on my wrist and honestly it isn’t that bulky and chunky lol. I agree that the bb58 is a nice watch with nice dimensions but come on... jumping on the bandwagon has to stop. Ridiculous really.
Not the most exciting watch: a black, bland looking diver. I’d rather save the money for something more special. I’m sure the quality is superb though.
I have both longines spirit 40mm and a bb58 blue, I think overall the BB58 is a better watch but the Longines is the better value and very close to the BB58 in terms of build, fit and finish.
The popularity of Rolex is what turns some people off. It's the unoriginal choice. Tudor watches have more personality and are far more rare in the wild. Case in point: I just got back from a trip and I saw more Rolex in the airport than any other watch. Correction, apple watches were first, THEN Rolex.
Yes there are a lot being sold at the moment. guess it is the current hysteria and inability to actually purchase a Rolex from an AD or pre owned at a remotely reasonable price. Maybe in lockdown many have jumped onto the watch bandwagon and then wondered why

But don't forget what got us to this point. And that is the Heritage BB 41. I think the video is right on the money. This 41 mm is still a great watch. Now, all of a sudden underrated and unloved? Crazy!
Watch world is a fickle beast and these days seems to be led by youtube and everyone jumps on and off the 'bandwagon' to buy or out the latest fad,, undesirable or collectable, the 41mm will appreciate in the future.....so many cars, watches, motorcycles etc have been out of favour only to become the one everyone suddenly wants.
Screw the crown in!
The Perfection
its nice, but too thick it pops out that is the downside.
Still thinking the best bargains in the watches wold comes from Japan. Grand seiko fan
I'm big fan of the watch but 15mm is pretty insane.
Although I have big wrist this watch’s sits like a brick 🧱 in the hand , sits so high , that’s why many flipped the 41
It’s a pretty expensive bargain though ha ha
I’d rather wait and have the 58
#tudorbros great video 👏
Not the most exciting watch: a black, bland looking diver. I’d rather save the money for something more special. I’m sure the quality is superb though.
longines spirit collection is far better a bargain :)
I have both longines spirit 40mm and a bb58 blue, I think overall the BB58 is a better watch but the Longines is the better value and very close to the BB58 in terms of build, fit and finish.
needs a date then i'll buy
Tudors are the most flipped watch on the market. Guys buy it and sell in a few months. The question is why? Poor man’s Rolex syndrome.
@@flanners41 I don't think your argument holds any weight. There are FAR more submariners for sale than Black Bays - like 3x as many. Check Chrono24 for yourself.
I've had Rolex. It's not that great. Sold mine and got a this watch and an aqua terra which has a better movement.
@@bluemystic7501 Not new from an AD....how many Rolex Steel sports can you find......not forgetting the price difference at least 5x or 6x the price.
The thickness is what kills the BB41. It makes it look like a cheap budget and low quality watch. BB58 just whiped the floor with it.
It doesn't wear as large as internet fan boys and dimensions suggest....unless you have a twig for a wrist then yeh possibly the 58. It doesn't look cheap or low quality either as shown in the video above, it looks really good and has tool watch presence. The Sea Dweller is basically the same depth.
