I am actually starting my watch collection off with a longines, spirit zulu time with true gmt. It makes me very happy to see that the brand is in that range after a lot of pondering.
That Longines may also be the watch you wear while you spend your money on travel instead of a watch "hoard". The Zulu time GMT is a good travel watch. Add a Casio G-Shock to wear while rafting, parachute jumping or skin diving and you're all set. If I could start again I would buy a couple great pieces, a G-Shock beater, and leave it at that.
As my daily watch, I have the new Longines Conquest 38mm in blue. Perfect watch if you ask me. It’s elegant, well finished and can also be worn casually. I did also tried the Tag Heuer Carrera. But the Longines spoke more to me. The bracelet is beautiful as well
I have a modest collection of watches and my favorite everyday watch that doesn’t break the bank (for me) is my quartz Alpina Comtesse with a round, white MOP face and diamond (chip) markers. It’s so beautiful and simple (aka ‘boring vanilla). I’ve seen them ranging from 600-1200. I scooped mine up from an eBay seller who had a gorgeous collection of higher end watches (very high ratings) that I could not afford. I guess her buyers were not interested in this lower end watch that she wore once or twice and had extremely faint ‘desk rash’ on the band. Anyway, after doing a bunch of research I scooped it up for around $125.00. I couldn’t be happier and I wear it nearly every day - jeans/sweats/dresses. A Cartier tank watch is on my vision board but for now, my Maurice Lacroix Divina, also quartz, will have to do. Thanks for the inspirational and aspirational video! 🩷
I'm close to my retirement. I have just one watch, bought a month ago (yes!), the NOMOS Model 760 Club Sport neomatik 39 in a steel bracelet. I need nothing else :)
I've been thinking about this topic myself lately; how would I do things differently if I knew then (when I started watch collecting), what I know now. The main for me is: a couple watches is fine, don't buy too many watches too quickly -- buy a solid daily you can dress up, and buy something you can beat around in the field. After a while, save money to upgrade the daily to a luxury watch if desired. This time between purchases will give you space to figure out your taste/ preferences, and even whether upgrading is what you want (maybe the connection / memories with your first daily isn't something you want to replace just yet). That in mind, it is nice to have a grail to aspire to. But that's where I am at in my watch collecting journey. (not saying that I regret any of the purchases I've made over the years, but that I have found contentment with just a couple of watches).
@@tylerjames646 totally agree but unfortunately this cannot be applied , we all learn from our mistakes , i learned that i bought too many affordable watches and i should have saved for my grail watch, but that grail watch itself was created in my mind to avoid mistakes i made , its existence is deeply related to my mistakes. so I'm convinced now it is a journey any collector must take with no regrets . this is the cost of learning. take care .
Another consideration when spending big bucks on watches is their long-term resale value. Even if you have no intention to sell. Certain brands will retain their value while other have drastic deprecation on day one. Mint second hand is definitely something to consider.
Many people collect things. My father collects stamps, coins, and fine luxury pens. My mother…orchids, jewelry, purses, shoes, etc. My friend collects guitars. Another friend collects motorcycles. Jerry Seinfeld collects Porsches. Jay Leno…all sorts of automobiles. So there’s nothing “crazy” about collecting watches. 35 years ago, I used to collect Seiko Mickey Mouse watches which started my love of watches. Now I collect other things. It just so happens that watch collecting is an expensive hobby. I bet the majority of us watching your videos are watch collectors too. You’re fine.
I still stand by the age old adage that the best 'one and done' watch for a solo collection is the Rolex Explorer. The literal embodiment of 'go anywhere, do anything'. I wear mine with both tshirt and jeans or black tie formal. It never looks out of place.
Thank you for this content. I was amazed that 95% of this video I aligned with (except for the Cartier). I started my journey with a Tissot Couturier in white. Though I still wear it from time to time, it just wears a wee bit too big, but has sentimental value. At this time my dad passed away, and the plan was to buy a Longines AND a Tudor (1926 or Black Bay 41). Anyroad, my next piece, I got my mittens on, was the wunderbar Longines Master Collection Moonphase in blue...what an absolute stunner. At this point I got a little sidetracked, because instead of purchasing a Tudor (as planned) I went and bought a... Ofcourse, Longines Hydroconquest in black. Now the choice was between green and the latter, but the green piece had a biggo dent in it so no-way-Jose to green, bonjour black. Tudor was just out of reach at that moment. Now to conclude that part of my journey, my eyes caught on to a... Longines Record (not a lot of info online on this piece unfortunately) in a white dial, roman numerals, blue hands and stainless steel & rose gold bracelet OR Omega De Ville OR still the good ol' BB41 Tudor. Damnit, I am afraid Tudor has to take a backseat.... again!!! You might see where this is all going, so far there IS somesort of a pattern, right or does it?!?
The Rolex OP is also my go to daily watch. I also think Rolex is the best watch brand. I started collecting at age 15 and I’m now 34 iv sold and condensed all my watches into 3 Rolex and 1 Panerai and the Panerai is probably on the way out. I own a Starbucks sub, explorer II, and OP 41. At this point I enjoy the hobby from a far and just wear what I have because I feel happy with these 3 Rolex. They are all go to watches for any situation that work well with my style of dressing and activities
I've recently started my collection with a tudor bb54, and so far, I have loved wearing it. Next for me, I am hoping to save up for a speedy pro sapphire or cartier santos medium (though both cost upward of 10k aud).
If I were to start over, the first watch I'd add to my (now empty) collection would be the Tudor BB58 GMT. It's on the high end of the mid-priced watch category, but it is so much watch for the money. At the current market prices, I would probably skip Rolex this time around,. While the Oyster Perpetual is a great watch it isn't worth the wait time or after market price. Longine, Tudor, Oris... there's a list of great options for that same style watch at less than half the Rolex cost.
Great video! Agree with these suffestions across the hoard. Here are my choices divided into my choice / affordable sub 1k alternative: Everyday: Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra / Citizen Tsuyosa Tool: Tudor Black Bay 54 / Orient Kamasu Dress: Rolex Datejust w/ fluted bezel / Tissot Visodate (uaed older model at 40mm w/ ETA)
If i start again i would say to myself that I don’t need to own too many watches , buy only if i wear it . Already spent a lot and have so many watch that doesn’t get wrist time at all 😢.
My rule right now, is seven days in the week, 7 watches in the collection. I reserve the right to add one more to celebrate Leap Year, but so far I am sticking to the plan, LOL.
Same here. I have about 30. I'm thinking often about that I may made a mistake and should have saved up the money for more luxury watches (for me >4000 Eur). But on the other hand I wouldn't have the balls to wear them in public 😐So somehow I'm happy that I can just wear my "cheap" watch and don't be scared to be robbed etc.
That Rolex Oyster Perpetual is the most solid and beautiful everyday watch. The smaller size (I think it's 34 mm) looks better than bigger Oyster Perpetual watches with double indices on dial.
Silly me , it was soon to be discontinued and the price went skyward , my biggest watch collecting regret. Such a good looking watch an affordable price .
I started wearing watches in the 7th grade so I would start with a g shock 5600 and later get the 5610u with all the functions and solar. I think every collection needs a g shock, there's no watch that is tougher and if you do anything remotely sweaty, dirty, or with risk of impact or scratches, the g shock can handle it. Then once i graduated high school I'd try for some kind of GADA watch with a white dial. Then I'd go for a nice microbrand sapphire and ceramic bezel diver after graduating college.
I do think the tank is a great starter watch. Besides not going swimming with it… pretty much does everything. Good list, not sure I’m there fully with dress watches but I do like variety.
For daily wear the Tissot Gentleman. As a tool watch, I would add the Tudor Ranger. As a dress watch, the Longines Conquest heritage central power reserve.
Your totally right. Dress watches are way underrated. I have a Tissot that I love way more than the price that I paid for it. Everyone is so focused on the PRX that you miss this great line of dress watches that they have that punches way above their price point.
I’m staring to get into watches, I just ordered my FIRST Seiko SSK003 aka blueberry like the one you mention. This thing is beautiful and pictures does not do justice to this watch. Awesome video like always thinking people awesome work ⏱️🙌🏻🔥
0:30 Took a look at the "Zenith Defy Skyline Chronograph" as a Royal Oak alternative and was shocked how "cheap" it was. Had to gather myself and recalibrate my priorities. At any rate, it deserves more attention.
On a decidedly positive note, let me say that I wholeheartedly agree with the desire to go neo-vintage and that Breguet Classique is an excellent choice! I may have to buy it before you do so they won’t be all gone! 😁😁😁⌚️🎄
A Rolx Airking is great tool watch which is a great everyday wear. The best speedy release was FOIS beautiful watch and got one. The Omega paris bronze gold is a fantastic dress watch
Finally got to check out the FOIS in the metal in Cologne last weekend. Just as desirable as I thought it would be - it's on my list, which is otherwise exclusively Professionals. Wear it in good health!
I’ve been buying/selling watches since the 90’s. My current soc is; Everyday - Rolex 126234 Sport - Breitling E17370 Dress - Vintage 18 k Omega Fun watches - Underdog watermelon, Kurono Toki Beater - Seiko 6139-7040 Travel watch - GS SBGV207 Plus a few others…
I essentially have a 3 watch collection - dress, tool / everyday and a "particular interest" watch. Two of them are vintage and one bought new. My 1945 JLC "tank style" watch was my everyday watch for a number of years and I only moved it to "dress watch" status because my eyesight has got bad enough that I couldn't read the time without glasses and I was starting to get a bit twitchy wearing it in the rain. These are high quality devices and although a little care is needed second hand and vintage make a lot of sense to me.
This year I took this advice and downgrade my collection to only 3 "vintage" watches, something in the same way you recommended in this video. And I ended up with something I really like and enjoy to dress up or down regardless of occasion. I expect this will slow down my spending and help me look for other options in the future, my collection for 2025 and onwards is: Daily: G-Shock GAB-2100-1A. Tool: Omega Seamaster 300m 36mm ref. 2551.80 (I have a tiny wrist lol). Dressy: Omega Constellation 1959 ref. 14393 Happy Holidays!
My watch collecting started in high school with Swatch POPs 😄 I must have had a calculator Casio as well at some point. I’m an 80’s kid after all. I have most of the mid range (Rolex/Omega) models you mentioned, so I’m pretty happy with my set up. I have a small Ulysse Nardin San Marco but I feel like I need a rectangular dress watch. Casio has a couple of really nice Tank inspired ones that won’t break the bank. My slimmed down list of must have watches would be: Datejust 36 for daily wear Tudor BB58 or a Submariner for casual/sporty vibes Omega Professional Moonwatch because it’s a must Omega Chronostop Regatta with leather strap for that Vintage itch Cartier Tank (or Casio in the same look) for dressy occasions
I love this list, and it’s a great thought process to build a theoretical collection. I would however make one change. I would exempt the g shock from the tool watch category, and instead pick one of the other choices. I would then buy a gshock in addition to the three watches selected. So we would end up with a 4 watch collection. One from each three categories, plus a gshock…..I say this because for me, on a day to day basis I don’t wear my gshock for that long. I use it for purpose, working out, construction, beach with heavy sunscreen, etc. Outside of that I would rather wear a non digital tool watch. But that’s just me
I started with a Datejust on IFC at 20 years old 35 years ago. Would not change that apart from the ability to have a smooth bezel these days or better still an OP/Explorer/Sub, and I do not think you can get IFC anymore..
Okay I'm sooooo not on your budget. 40% of my "collection" are Casios. But I wear them! I love this video because it shows me where I could go based on what I already like. Thank you for that! Also it shows me that my GADAs need a LOT of "Tool" watch qualities, so that's an interesting thing to know about myself. As always, a lot of good advice and now I have much to consider.
My two keeper watches are my now 21 year old Omega Seamster 2254 with the sword hands and a current generation Speedmaster with the outstanding 3861 Master-Co-axial movement which hacks and runs at +1 second/day. And, remarkably, my Seamaster, with its non-coaxial 1120 movement, never having been serviced also still runs at +1 second/day and its lume last all night. My beater is a Bulova 98B245 black military style chronograph with its UHF movement that's extremely accurate. The Speedmaster on its new somewhat "glitzy" bracelet is my go to dress watch and gets a lot of looks including "Is that what I think it is" from those in my age group who grew up during the initial US manned space era beginning with Mercury and ending with the last Apollo mission. We knew all about the role that the Speedys played in the program beginning with Wally Shirra's fifth Mercury mission .
Good video, as usual. I’d like to add 2 things. 1. Don’t forget about service cost, especially when going vintage. 2. Rolex and Cartier sell the most amount of watches from Switzerland, can’t get more mainstream than that.
Britt, thoughts on IWC portugeiser as first luxury dress watch? I wear a suit everyday. Gotta be honest i was thinking of the cartier santos also but the dumont is really tempting…
What an inspired topic! Also me thinks we're of the same mindset. I capped my budget for these mechanical wonders at $3500us. And... I've been enjoying swimming in the microbrand pool for the last3 years. $3500 came from my last big purchase. My Longines Spirit 42 Blue sunray dial and the date at the 3 o'clock, chopping the "3" indices... ...which i love btw. Premiere package! Fun stuff. It grail for my budget. And i never thought I'd own a chronometer rated timepiece. For me, it was a very extravagant purchase and I will never sell my Longines. So that's my budget. And of course you can buy a lotte micro brand watches that are awesome, like jodie's origin and my m d design from ireland which is also a regulator watch. And...... i think I would really enjoy owning and wearing a Cartier Santos, de Cartier !!!!! Pre-owned $5500 us. And I think it's a real beauty, and I would wear the carp out of it. ...what's a job to do ??? Time start putting a little extra i n the "ole cookie jar". Love your show. Be well. Carl
Merry Christmas Britt! My advise would be is to take your time and do research before making the purchase. Decide on price point and most importantly buy what you like and not the hype but rather buy the quality. ❤😊❤
Yeah Brit.?? All my friends and family think I'm nuts having had more Breitling watch models than my local jeweller..In fact, an AD in South Africa once asked 2 buy an Emergency CF back that I custom made with a CO-PILOT.. They were desperately out of stock, and a customer wanted a WATCH NOW, SINCE every one is visiting Antarctica to C if the Earth is FLAT or not!!! REgards,,, ur local FEDEX/UPS cargo pilot
I reckon the Longines Hydroconquest GMT is often overlooked. It’s my daily and it’s an incredible watch that sports not only the GMT, but ALSO the count-up bezel!!! I mean, a GMT and dive on the same watch. Absolutely affordable and in different colours. Such a cool watch!
When I bought my first bass guitar, I spent £200, which felt right as a 20yearold kid. It's a lovely Ibanez that I still have and play 10 years on. When I got my first expensive bass, a Rickenbacker, I spent £1500, which was a lot at the time, even factoring in that I went 50/50 with my parents as a joint university graduation/22nd birthday present. My friend, a genuinely talented guitarist with then 20 years of experience (now 30), got legitimately pissy at me for not "climbing the ladder," as he put it. He thought I should have bought a £500 and £1000 or a £750 bass bass before spending £1500, which I then, and he now, view as ridiculous. If you have the money, never compromise, buy what you want. There are no rules. Be happy, but be sensible. I now have 3 Rics, and they are my babies, alongside my watches.
i agree about the oyster perpetual but the one i choose is the grey dial, not the other ones, only the grey dial because it s the only one with gold indexes, only Tag heuer produce one with similar dial but only with 1 dimension, not like the OP
I love your videos! I appreciate you include more “affordable” options at $500 and under. Also, great sponsor for this video! I am going to start a membership with Hello Fresh and I will definitely use your code to support the channel. Keep the up the amazing content
Some great choices! I would do something similar; Vintage Rolex Air King ... (similar to your Oyster Perp.) Adventure Watch; Maybe the Norqain Adventure Sport. For tool watch, I would go a different direction ... perhaps a Field or Military watch, CWC, or Hamilton Khaki, and last watch perhaps something with some cool space history, Omega Speedmaster or the Bulova Lunar Pilot! Solid starting point, imo. Nice vid!
Affordable GMT: Traska Venturer. Currently putting mine to the test on holiday - 38x12mm, flyer GMT, 150m WR, on the fly micro adjust, fully articulated 3 link bracelet, £560. Absolute bargain.
You have probably done this but do you have videos on if you should buy certain spring bars like are some better quality then others. Also what kind of spring bars should you use when you don't have quick release straps.
I have a collection of very entry level quartz pieces (bulova, movado 800, PRX) but I just got a champagne dial 37mm spirit and I am considering that the start of my collection, I am selling the other watches on market place. Next watch will be a submariner, I am going to buy it any day, I found some 2024’s for $13.5k.
Another excellent video Britt! I really like this one quite a bit. Your choices are quite spot-on in my opinion, choices that I would consider also if I had the money for them. Cheers!❤️🙂
Rolex is a great watch , especially in pre owned ! Well made , sturdy , well respected...a generational watch . Hamilton Murph in black is my everyday...wear what you enjoy and afford. Thanks Britt !!!!!!
I would love to see you review some of the new Raymond Weil pieces that have come out in the last couple of years. They've been killing it. I feel like the Millesime Automatic Moonphase is right in your lane.
I think the people who watch Britts videos may be some of the only ones who understand what I'm going through right now. I had surgery on my right hand yesterday. So I can't wear a watch.... I'm right-handed so I can't put a watch on my left hand. Or get one off. I feel like I'm more upset about that than I am having surgery. Probably won't be able to wear any of my watches for about 3 months.
Start with something that will 1. Wear well with a decent chunk of your wardrobe 2. Is part of the story you want to tell about yourself I picked a relatively slimmer black GMT because I liked the looks, it plays well with most of my wardrobe and it's part of the story I tell myself about who I am as someone who is fortunate enough to travel frequently and have family everywhere in the world
This is the best Video I have viewed of yours. I think the key to watch collecting is to buy what you can afford and what you like and not what you think other people would like to see you wearing or collecting. I love watching the Canadian Kevin O'leary aka Mr Wonderful and Teddy Baldassarre and their watch choices and jaunts as well as TGV aka The Urban Gentry , who just took ownership of his Bregeut. Shout out to everyone for the upcoming festive season and best wishes for a prosperous new year.Cheers
I always wonder what these watch collectors do for a living. These people casually drop gems like “this Omega is a must-have, it’s so cute!” Man, I wonder how a Brit on a monthly wage of £4,000 (which is actually a good salary for an engineer in the UK, for instance) can walk into a store and buy an Omega or a Rolex that’s worth 1/5 of their annual net income. As for me, I have a Tissot PR50 (34mm) that I bought in 2004 and it still works today, and that’s it. The rest of my money I spent on diapers, schooling, and a car.
Oh gosh - I totally hear you! SO! There are several different answers for this - and everyone's answers are different and unique to them. Answer 1. There are many more income streams than just ones monthly income. (Investments, family money, etc.). Also related to this: what are people's outgoings? Maybe they early £4K/month, but inherited their house from their family, or own their home. So, buying an expensive watch isn't the same financial burden. 2. A lot of people sell watches to buy other watches. So, to buy that £4,000 OMEGA, perhaps that person sold a few Seiko's or other things in the collection, on top of some savings. Maybe they made £2,000 from selling watches and saved £2,000. 3. For people who see this as a hobby, many people save for years to buy a certain piece. For example, I recently bought something for around £15,000. But I saved FOR YEARS FOR IT because it was something I really wanted and it meant a lot to me. There are many different avenues that afford people watches, and I, personally am slow to judge. We don't understand people financial worlds - and honestly - it's none of our business. ;) I buy what I love, when I can afford it! And that mostly what others are doing too.
...... Also... Some people just have ridiculous money lol! Like... There are people buying Richard Mille's for fun. It's hard to wrap my head around some of the wealth in this hobby. (And since this comment is UK specific - maaaan, it is tough to wrap my head around how stagnant wages are vs. the cost of living. A SQEP engineer should take home WAY more than £4K/mo. with the current cost of living in most of the country. BUT I DIGRESS!)
@@BrittPearceWatches Yes, I understand. I'm just in the wrong place, totally out of my mind and my league. I'm sorry. I'm going to stop drinking beer and eating meat and keep saving for that Longines Conquest! I hope I don't have to resort to photosynthesis in the meantime. Cheers!
Britt!!! You just nailed the perfect video. I blew up my collection a year ago and basically started to build a three watch collection exactly as you laid out. Everyday watch: Rolex Explorer 40. Sports watch: Rolex Explorer II (the exact one you pictured). On the hunt for a dress watch. I'm all over the map on this one and I agree it's really a fun catagory. I'm vibing on several Grand Seikos, but I'd like to go precious metal. These can be cost prohibitive, so I'm looking to find a rose gold JLC Geophysic 1958. Bonus watch, I just picked up the new Apple Watch Ultra last night. This is stricly for working out, but I'm plesently surprised how cool it is. Anyway, amazing video!
I’m a Rolex fan, they’re incredible watches. My daily is the all black GMT Master II. It’s really hard to plan out my next purchase because I know it won’t get the wrist time. I understand why people are put off due to waitlists and availability, but it doesn’t bother me. I waited six months for a mint green dial 36mm Datejust, and the world didn’t end.
Explorer 1, best all rounder, never had one, but it is classic without being cliche; Like a pair of Levi 501s. The submariner is a cliche and i say that as someone who has one!😅😅😅 Do like those old dress seamasters though. 🎉🎉🎉
Daily watch: an old Oysterquartz DAY?DATE, Seico presage, Edifice Smart watch and Citizen Promaster GPS,, Middle: Daytona, Tag F1 and Navitimer A19350 triple D8. Expensive JLC Reverso or triple D8, Emergency 2 Carbon Fibre Night Mission, and AD Royal Oak.... RE
Id argue the Cartier Santos covers more of those categories than any other watch. Daily? Check. Dress? Check. Sporty? Check. I think the Santos retains the same dress level as the Tank without sacrificing sportiness or ruggedness. The Tank looks great at dinner too, but maybe a little too "wimpy" at the BBQ.
I started collecting after re-finding my dad's 1950s Doxa and early 60s Zodiac in a drawer while packing to move house in 2020. Before that I owned a couple of Citizen EcoDrive dressers and a very nice EcoDrive Titanium Chrono that I wore every day. I still own and wear all three (not at the same time). Bitten by the automatic bug but being more frugal than I really wanted to be, I bought a Seiko SNK805 with the aging 7S26 non-hacking, no hand wind movement. I paid $100 for it three years ago, and in hindsight I should have bought 100 of them. Now people are paying twice that for a used one.
When I try the exercise of what watch would I want for $10K I always think, for that price I could have an Oris Big Crown Pointer Date, Hamilton Intamatic Chrono & a Longines Flagship Heritage amd I forget about the big money bangles.
Too many people buy too many sports watches. They are all basically the same black or white dialed watch with reliable but uninteresting movements with overinflated and manufacturered stories. You really only need 1-3 stainless steel sports watches. We all need to buy interesting hand made horology rather than having a box or aspiring to have a box of 15 black divers.
I say live and let live. People like what they like, and I like what I like 👍🏾 I choose to have and wear more than 3 steel sports watches! I get to choose - thank you ✌🏾
It's a shame the integrated bracelet PRX is always mentioned over the Gentleman these days.! The Gentleman is one of the most accurate Rolex alternatives IME. I hope Tissot put a three fold clasp on it in 2025, but putting it on a deployant leather strap is super classy.
I was just watching this video on my helicopter up the mountain for my daily adventure ski run. And I realized maybe I’m the tool in tool watch. 😂
L O LLLLL! You and me both! (She says in her BB54, and she’s never been diving a day in her life)!

Such an amazing choice! Big congrats to YOU! Amazing watch! Great start to a watch collection! 😍✨
@@PastRaven Great watch.
I have it in blue, lovely watch 👍
That Longines may also be the watch you wear while you spend your money on travel instead of a watch "hoard". The Zulu time GMT is a good travel watch.
Add a Casio G-Shock to wear while rafting, parachute jumping or skin diving and you're all set.
If I could start again I would buy a couple great pieces, a G-Shock beater, and leave it at that.

But... collecting is not about needs. It's all about wants 😂

I have a Tissot couturier black dial day date. Fantastic watch.
For me: Sinn 556i - IWC 3706 - Omega Seamaster 300 Co-Axial (the 1957 inspired modern looking one from 2014)
2254.50 ‘Peter Blake’ Seamaster is the daddy
Here are my choices divided into my choice / affordable sub 1k alternative:
Everyday: Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra / Citizen Tsuyosa
Tool: Tudor Black Bay 54 / Orient Kamasu
Dress: Rolex Datejust w/ fluted bezel / Tissot Visodate (uaed older model at 40mm w/ ETA)
I’m there as well… but I want more 😢
If you’ve got the money a Rolex Explorer 36/40 job done 👌🏼 and a G-Shock square GW-M5610U-1ER for a daily beater 👌🏼 two classics 👌🏼
That Rolex Oyster Perpetual is the most solid and beautiful everyday watch.
The smaller size (I think it's 34 mm) looks better than bigger Oyster Perpetual watches with double indices on dial.
@@MrCROBosanceros I agree, I bought an OP Red Grape at 25% discount and returned it because it had a tiny piece of aluminium swarf
Silly me , it was soon to be discontinued and the price went skyward , my biggest watch collecting regret. Such a good looking watch an affordable price .
@MrCROBosanceros yeah it's nearly perfect symmetry 41mm Silver Dial. However it is over my budget.
I second that it is the best everyday watch and my favorite Rolex honestly even above my submariner
Evil villians wear this watch😃
@ evil? They just believe in an aggressive redistribution of wealth.. just like Robinhood… if like, he kept the money. 😂🤣😂
For daily wear the Tissot Gentleman. As a tool watch, I would add the Tudor Ranger. As a dress watch, the Longines Conquest heritage central power reserve.
I started my watch journey with the Hamilton Khaki 38. Love this watch. Makes me smile every time I glance at it. Staring at it would be weird. 😏
I’ve been buying/selling watches since the 90’s. My current soc is;
Everyday - Rolex 126234
Sport - Breitling E17370
Dress - Vintage 18 k Omega
Fun watches - Underdog watermelon, Kurono Toki
Beater - Seiko 6139-7040
Travel watch - GS SBGV207
Plus a few others…
My daily watch is the Seiko Sarb033 I love it
Still a great watch. I miss mine sometimes.
Interesting perspective Britt & agree with lot of what you say, especially about watches being for many occasions rather than being pigeon-holed!
These are high quality devices and although a little care is needed second hand and vintage make a lot of sense to me.
agree that there is miscommunication about dress watches, most of my watches are dress ones and they usually fit for everyday use .
This year I took this advice and downgrade my collection to only 3 "vintage" watches, something in the same way you recommended in this video. And I ended up with something I really like and enjoy to dress up or down regardless of occasion. I expect this will slow down my spending and help me look for other options in the future, my collection for 2025 and onwards is:
Daily: G-Shock GAB-2100-1A.
Tool: Omega Seamaster 300m 36mm ref. 2551.80 (I have a tiny wrist lol).
Dressy: Omega Constellation 1959 ref. 14393
Happy Holidays!
My slimmed down list of must have watches would be:
Datejust 36 for daily wear
Tudor BB58 or a Submariner for casual/sporty vibes
Omega Professional Moonwatch because it’s a must
Omega Chronostop Regatta with leather strap for that Vintage itch
Cartier Tank (or Casio in the same look) for dressy occasions
What Nomadic model is that? & could you do a review of that watch?
Merry Christmas Britt! Great choices of watches. Definitely you need a Breguet in your collection.🤔
And merry Christmas to YOU and your family! Sending all our love from Gringa HQ! And you are sooo right ! A Breguet needs to enter the fold!
Im struggling between OP 41 green dial and IWC Mark XX (blue dial), what you think?
The blue matches more of my wardrobe and I like blue. The green is really nice too.
Been really liking the Omega De Ville Prestige 34mm for everyday wear
Hey Britt! Thoughts on the Tudor 1926 for a first nice watch?
For me, it was a very extravagant purchase and I will never sell
my Longines.
Be well.
Carl
The best value proposition in a tank style Swiss watch has to be a Longines Dolce Vita. A quarter the cost of a Cartier.
Come on Brittany?!?! We would go diving and other adventurous stuff if we hadn't already spent all our money on watches. 😜
I recently started my watch collecting journey with a Tissot PRX powermatic 80 35mm MoP dial. Love how it looks and wears❤
Love your videos. I also find myself leaning more towards dressy watches these days. I realize i have too many sporty and casuals already.
As for me, I seem to be forever stuck on Rolex. What can I say... It works if you work it!
Great video!
You helped me pick my everyday beater watch Seamaster 2254.50 41mm perfect 👌 Thank you 😊
Well done for mentioning vintage dress watches. Interesting unusual less common pieces can be found for not silly money.
Forgot to mention Longines under the dressy category! That’s what they do best!
You helped me pick my everyday watch. Which is a Rolex 114300 OP. Thank you!
i agree about the oyster perpetual but the one i choose is the grey dial, not the other ones, only the grey dial because it s the only one with gold indexes, only Tag heuer produce one with similar dial but only with 1 dimension, not like the OP
Nice vid!
Everything you said.... Literally ditto with luxury handbags lol
I'm just starting to break into watches so thank you so much for this video :)
As a member of the Super Giant Wrist Alliance - Vintage is a no go.
I’m also in the “thank the Lord NATO straps are a thing “ club
Another excellent video Britt! I really like this one quite a bit. Your choices are quite spot-on in my opinion, choices that I would consider also if I had the money for them. Cheers!❤️🙂
Certina is so overlooked almost criminally
Rolex is a great watch , especially in pre owned ! Well made , sturdy , well respected...a generational watch . Hamilton Murph in black is my everyday...wear what you enjoy and afford. Thanks Britt !!!!!!
Omega Racing Chrono 9900 - can't decide btwn white dial\black hands or black dial\orange hands
Never compromise buy what you want don’t go for the cheap alternatives
Just got a Cartier Pasha neo vintage, have a vintage Omega seamaster 30 and a moonswatch mission to Jupiter. Also have a seiko 5!
Well, since you asked.... I can understand your love for the Cartier Tank. But why did you ignore the JLC Reverso???
Start with something that will
1. Wear well with a decent chunk of your wardrobe
2. Is part of the story you want to tell about yourself
I picked a relatively slimmer black GMT because I liked the looks, it plays well with most of my wardrobe and it's part of the story I tell myself about who I am as someone who is fortunate enough to travel frequently and have family everywhere in the world
This is the best Video I have viewed of yours.
I started seriously collecting watches this year I so far have a casio duro and citizen ecodrive thats titanium with a sapphire cristal.
They sell crack
@@BrittPearceWatches Yes, I understand. I'm just in the wrong place, totally out of my mind and my league. I'm sorry. I'm going to stop drinking beer and eating meat and keep saving for that Longines Conquest! I hope I don't have to resort to photosynthesis in the meantime. Cheers!
she's got dad's money and does youtube for fun.
Anyway, amazing video!
you briefly mention Cartier but what about Tiffany ? are they any good ? I would sell my first born for a beautiful Tiffany.
You became the tool. Congratulations.
time flies
This is a great list. I am a little surprised you did not mention Frederique Constant or GO.
Not mentioning GO was a war crime 😂
Explorer 1, best all rounder, never had one, but it is classic without being cliche; Like a pair of Levi 501s. The submariner is a cliche and i say that as someone who has one!😅😅😅 Do like those old dress seamasters though. 🎉🎉🎉
anyone knows a good secondary market store where i can buy some watches?
Wait, no Panthere???
More of this please! Best video of 2024. Can't wait to see your channel grow in 2025.
Daily every day IMHO: Citizen NJ0180-80X, titanium, small second, great dial, low price.
I started my watch journey with my Seiko 5 sports….its still my only watch! Longines is calling my name though…
When I try the exercise of what watch would I want for $10K I always think, for that price I could have an Oris Big Crown Pointer Date, Hamilton Intamatic Chrono & a Longines Flagship Heritage amd I forget about the big money bangles.
I find this video completely incredible at 1:32 - how can rum and raisin ice cream be in any top ice cream flavours list? I demand answers! :)
You should get a JLC reverso, so you can play pickleball with it on, and you can turn it over to protect the watch as God intended!
So you know what people want and should buy...interesting
I say live and let live. People like what they like, and I like what I like 👍🏾 I choose to have and wear more than 3 steel sports watches! I get to choose - thank you ✌🏾
Dude stop telling people what to do. This is such an irritating part of the hobby. Like why do you even care
What watch roll do you have?
Love to know your watch roll especially with small wrists
At 11:49, the Tissot watches with the multi colour (Black, Green and Blue) dial - which model is that pls ? Only available in 36’ ?
It’s from IFL Watches.
