Everyone needs to watch this. Perfectly explains my wingman issues.
The sidekick is better though I wish it had a small set of scissors as one of the internal implements. Then it would have been almost perfect for a small, light duty MT.
Cool project, great video.
Informative! I like how you do your videos. Subscribed
Great job.
I prefer multitools with the pocket clip on the right side. I used the Wingman for several years. i sharpened the scissors more and bent the blades towards each other. This worked for me.
I dislike the Wave/Charge because they are left side pocket clip and they have pinched my hand too many times.
The Curl has the pocket clip on the right side. You have to remember to use the pliars where pocket clip is located, otherwise you can get that Wave pinched. I used the Curl heavily and even broke the pliars tip off.
Step in the Workpro 18-1. It has the right side pocket clip. The outside tools are at the opposite end of the handle. No Wave pinch.
The workpro is nowhere near the quality of the Wave. I have been using it for about three months. I got it so muddy that grains of rock were imbedded in the tools. I wash it under the sink. I abuse this tool on a daily basis and it still works! The handles dont close properly. But, it works a multool.
Interesting, my favorite multitool is the free P4, with the Swisstool spirit Mx clip being a close second. I think those both have left side clips tho
You are talented, keep this channel going!
Thanks, I’ll try!
Had mine for 5 years and never fail me
I’m glad it’s been reliable
Excellent video, this scissor problem is why I've always loved Wenger (now Victorinox Evo grip) serrated scissors 👍
I haven’t tried those, they sound interesting. I did consider serrations, not sure it would save these scissors. I tested Vic Spirit and 91 mm scissors on Zip ties, they both worked but it was uncomfortable.
@@Kayakatools Yeah zip ties are certain death to small scissors...
Absolutely love the Wingman. Perfect for everything I do on a daily basis just want to change the blade. Just a preference not really an issue. As far as the scissors I’ve never had any problems at all. Great video though.
I’m glad you like the Wingman, the toolset appealed to me so I can see how it would be useful.
Swap plier heads with the rev plier head it's better and stronger
Buy the Leatherman Arc. Out of all the multi tools I own, that is by the far the best.
Arc looks great, I decided to get a P4 instead which is what I carry, I also like the Swisstool Spirit Mx clip, it’s very slim
Good job
Thanks
Nice! Victorinox scissors are so good!
Leatherman should ad those laser engraved lines from Knipex Cobolt. But they wont, not for a bugdet tool anyway.
I wonder if you can add something similar, maybe very small serations on the scissors blades.
I thought about adding serrations, Wenger scissors have those. Leatherman really should update this tool, it’s one of their better sellers
@@Kayakatools ill search for Wenger, i didnt noticed that. But i dont like SAK form factor, i like only multitools with pliers.
@@randomescu I agree about SAK vs multitools, I have some notes on that for a video
Not sure how the anvil cutters of a 13 year old tool are a step back from the design of the P4 cutters that came out 10 years later.
But yeah. Awesome mods regardless! It looks great!
Hey, I should have made that clearer, the original PST is at 1:35, I’ve always known Leatherman cutters to be good and this particular plier head is the exception to the rule, leatherman pliers have always had bypass cutters, I think it has something to do with these ones being spring loaded
I love my wave
That’s a much better Leatherman, I carry a P4
