We need a supertool 300 and rebar with victorinox scissors quality

I like the Rebar but imo Vic do saws better, as well as scissors. The saw on standard mid-sized Vics (Hiker, Huntsman, Farmer etc.) is longer and thicker than the one on the Rebar, which is disappointingly flimsy. My hard work combo is Farmer X and LM Bond.

Just my experience: i really like that the super tool 300 has tools opening from inside the handle, simply because I've worked in dirty environments where the tool has been exposed to a lot of dirt grease etc... makes cleaning it up so much easier.

I have seen a guy mod a surge combined with a supertool 300 and a 300M and thought it was the best of both worlds

I agree, the philips is way more useful than the surge bit driver.

I always use the rebar or 300 because I can throw it in my bag with out the tools becoming exposed while being tossed around. I had gotten a big gash in my hand from a wave that the knife had opened in my bag and reached for something that ended up with me getting 14 stitches on my hand. Ever since then I've been an avid closed tool user.

I'm still surprised there aren't more multi tools with 1/4" bit drivers on the outside!!! I love the supertool, but thanks for bringing these competitors to my attention.

I love Victorinox, they invented a clip for the at that time around 20 year old Swisstool that changed how i carry it. That tool is well thought out(very few changes from 98 to the modern one), quality is second to none and it is sturdy like a tank. Yes the tools have to be pulled out via fingernails but with time you know exactly where everything is and they dont come out clumsy in a clump. The Supertool from my father feels ancient in comparison.

Good video, thanks!😊 the 2 Supertools in black were designed in part for military personnel duties, specifically to maintain their weapons...as you said, the Surge is more comfortable in hand than the 300, as well as the great outside tool set...that is why I chose the Surge...I also have my late father's Supertool, a viable multitool even today, but it "bites" like the 300 when you squeeze very hard.....having said all this, if I were starting out today, I would choose the 300 because it is a good tool for the price right now...as you know, the Surge is through the roof...

Beta are a well respected mechanic's tool company in Europe, up there with , and sometimes better than Snap-On.
A prime example is that the Ferrari F1 team supply their mechanics with Beta tool kits... 😉👍

The Super Tool 300 offers everything the Surge does but without a t- shank adaptor and scissors but much lighter to carry. The older style fasteners make it easier to open but will it eventually get too much play and give in the tool? I love my Super Tool 300 and like the Surge too. I don't prefer outside implements to inside ones. It comes down to whether I like a tool and is it practical to use. The Super Tool 300 checks all the boxes for me.

I have many Leathermans but sp300 is always the muscle, can't be replace, as for the frame you can actually have leverage to use the saw and the rest of the tools

Rebar and SuperTool are the last good multitools that Leatherman came out with IMO. I do industrial HVAC and have put a Rebar and a Gerber MP600 through hell over the years and they both held up. I have given away or sold every newer Gerber or Leatherman I have tried and kept those two.

Excellent video! Well said! Then Leatherman should come out with Super Tool 400, Super Tool 400M, and the Super Tool EOD, all outside opening... The Arc is just too tiny to use, more for people working in Office Jobs to transit from using the Wave+/Charge+ to the Arc. I am still thinking when Leatherman will come out with the large version of the Arc, or rather, just make a Super Tool 400. XD

This is why I got a SOG power access deluxe in the first place. It's similar but better. Although I don't think the philips is as sturdy than the leatherman one.
But I think I should lean towards the beta tool.
It does have the socket driver, scissors which is great I believe.
To be honest They should make an other version of the super tool with outside tools.
The philips can have the adapter.
They can put large scissors and the t shank adapter.
The thing is I think I hardly see outside tools with cover unless the cover isn't flimsy like in the SOG tool.

I’ve been edcing a 300 for a few years now. I used to edc the wave but found the pliers to be week and the tool set to be lacking. Only tool I would add to the 300 is the scissors from the wave. Other than that, leatherman don’t touch this tool lol

Leatherman should make an all outside accessible tool with a 4 1/2” frame that has the free series style locking mechanism for all of the implements. The Surge has been my favorite stock Leatherman/multitool to date, however, it’s also the ONLY Leatherman I’ve ever broken (and multiple times) due to liner lock failure of the outside opening tools.
If the ST300 had what I described above with one had opening knives (especially if it had scissors in ADDITION), I would much rather prefer that over the Surge. One way to add the scissors in may be to make a GOOD combo edge blade and put that in place of one of the knives.

Some people like us, much prefer "traditional" value with any product. Loyalty to a brand might have something to do with it or the family been using such a product for generation. There's nothing better than getting that Buck 110 from great grandad unless he's got a 57 Chevy.! You see the picture. Our dad has a "super tool" multitool that cost him $20, been using it daily for almost two decades now. It gets loose so he tighten it. it gets dull so he sharpen it. It also bends then he bent it back. It wears off, he calls it mileage. It's not following the trend, his answer "why follow when you can lead". Our dad. Cheers mate from Australia.

For years we wanted a multi tool with no superfluous tools, pre leatherman it was Victorinox Swiss Army knives, but we always wanted a combination of he tools from different SAK’s.
Roxon are bringing it with the Flex, a totally custom tool selection, you pick the tools that you want, buy long and short blanks to create your own tools, even download files to create your own tools.
How long until Roxon produce a heavy duty version? Leatherman would then have no class leading tool.

You know in Europe it's even worse.
Leatherman is great stuff but now they lean too much towards overpriced. This is the only reason I'm glad to see some competition here. If Leatherman can drop down their prices.
