We say that Dracula was entirely too elegant for lucite coffin, cheesy black lacquer and plastic bats. For people looking for inspiration, look at Walpole’s Strawberry Hill house and anything designed by Pugin. The details, proportions and sheer commitment to gothic (revival) makes my heart sing.
gothic architecture is truly marvelous and wonderul, here i am 2 in the morning watching this since i want to have a medieval style of house in the near future and i wanna understand it better since i grew up with liking medieval times
Thank you for adding the historical background into your designs. I never realized the context but once you pointed Gothic architecture and interior design, it made 100% clarity to me. Especially when you added some modern uses into it. Kind of makes me think how Victorian could easily incorporate Goth into its design structure.
Just coming back from the eclipse in Maine, I can say Maine is loaded with houses like this. Many maintained, others melting into the forest, abandoned. And everything in between. Queen Anne, 2nd Empire, Greek Revivals,
Recently I had the idea that a gotic interior would actually look great and interesting so I started looking for any exaples curios to find out if anyone has actually done it only to find a ton of emo goth interiors... well
