George.....You don't need anyone to demo your amps.....literally. Your playing & style is perfect for showcasing these amps. The differences and feel are subtle......but man are they there. Would love to be near that mic'ed cab to experience all the nuance & feel that is lost in translation via RUclips.

Iv got a 71 50 watt marshall, had the early slo 100, have a friedman be 100 and picked up a metroplex! This amp is crazy good !! My favorite!! Touch sensitive, roll back volume , sweet tone ! Iv never seen an amp cover so much guitar tone territory, Hendrix, Allman Bros!, VH ACDC! All the music I grew up with is in this amp !! It has a Bottom end THUNK that has to be experienced! Mid that cuts and treble that doesn’t pierce! I love this amp !!
Frickin ay...I'll take both! Very good explanation on differences! I love the sag/tone 3 dimensional sound that is so elusive of Plexi type circuit builders. Obviously George gets it.
I like them both, but like the DV1 slightly better. I just ordered one from George in fact. The DV1 captures the old but does the new better. More versatile, and agree it has evolved.
Virtually the same. The small difference is the second reason we use EQ controls. The first reason for EQ are the variations in speakers. I modded my Super Bass and it sounds great, cascaded gain, Super Leaded the preamp cathodes, used a 221pf instead of the 470pf on grid resistor. Was bright still. Great tone but 2 to 3 on presence, mid and treble, so I added a 1000pf at preamp out to ground where I put in a 1meg master volume and now I get a great tone with mid on 5 and treble on 5. Actually it sounds like your amps in this video.
Call me crazy, but in this video I really like the high mid bark of the metroplex over the DVL’s voicing. It leans more towards classic Marshall bark. There’s just something in the DVL that I’m not a fan of. I can’t wait to order a metroplex soon!
DVL does the exact same thing the Metroplex does. Thats why George stopped making them. Either George didn't match the sounds, or its all in your head.

I agree, that's the same reason why I prefer Metroplex over DVL and superplex.

IMO this is one of the least good clips of the Metroplex I've seen. I own one. It's the best amp I've ever played. Sounds great.
