I don't usually eat waffles because they are too sweet for my taste, but my husband is a waffle-lover... so thought I'll try this recipe to suprise him. And guess what guys, never ever in my life have I had such delicious, crunchy waffles, and they are not too sweet at all! Thank you Michael! You guys have to try this recipe!
This is truly an excellent recipee, i tried it a month ago , the result is just perfect . I saved have quantity in the freezer and it cooked as well as freshly made. Thank you. I am trying it again tmr.... by the way i replaced the white sugar with brown one and added a small spoon of cinnamon it is heavenly.
I'm from Belgium and I have to say; they look amazing! When I make them I put the yeast in luke warm milk first and then stirr it. It will activate the yeast. Just make sure that the milk is not too hot or it will burn and kill the yeast.
@@tweewin soft ones are not really popular here. You also have waffles from Brussels. They are crispy and made with a different batter, without the sugar pearls. But allover the liege ones are most popular!
@@maaikebelmans3200 I bet! I have only eaten the supermarket version, so I don't have a good comparison point. They were pretty yummy, so I cannot even imagine the fresh one! I've been trying a few recipes from American food bloggers, no winner. Haven't gotten a chance to try this version, yet. Excited to do so soon! Could you type the Brussels' version in your native language? I would like to research that, too. 😁
I’ve been making these recipe four time and getting better anytime. Since the dough is too much for me, I started freeze them after the first rising without the pearl sugar and honestly taste great too. Thank you for sharing your recipe
oh my god, when ever i see your name under a video, my heart sings,i know iam going to watch perfection.i loooooove what ever you make.god bless you ,thank you for sharing
Hey hi! Thanks sooo much Michael! Yes indeed I did a more thorough search and found some! Can't wait to make some for the family. Thanks again and looking forward to watching more of your videos!
Thanks for the recipe. I tried it and the waffles turned out the way I want. They smelled so good when I cooked them fresh after adding the sugar and resting. I put some dough balls in the freezer and cooked them a few days later. They tasted good too but they didn’t have the same aroma as the fresh ones.
If you want your waffles to be done few days later and smell as good as freshly done you should put less yeast. About 2-4 grams. But you won’t be able to cook them the day you prepared the dough.
I'M EATING THEM NOW!🤗 I was so hungry, I couldn't wait so much 2 times as it is suggested and they are absolutely GREAT.😋 I was in Brussels and Ghent, in so much hurry to absorb air, energy and see so many beautiful things around me, I didn't try any of waffels. I hope this year I'll do it. So, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! 🙂
HI Michael, your waffle look very good I have followed your recipe as per your video included Perl Sugar (not white chocolate haha) which I have found at IKEA as you mentioned and all turned perfect. What I like about your methodology is you don't talk and their is no need we just follow your easy way as per your video so their is no confusion on all ingredients and methodology. I have also done successfully your steam buns as per your video all turned also very good we all enjoyed. Thank you and will look for your next video.

Hello, don't miss me. I still dont make my swiss roll for the contest, i have no time :'( but i already do one following your instruccions abd taste soooo delicious. Greetings from México. Take care
You don't really need pearl sugar. You can get rock sugar and smash it smaller. Or like myself, I didn't have pearl sugar one time, and just use regular granulated sugar to sprinkle on the top of the dough before I covered it with the top side of the waffle machine. Still yummy and works the same (created caramelization).
Thank you for the recipe and step by step instructions, Michael! I appreciate that you also showed us what tools you used and how you scraped the batter off the s hook. :) Thank you and always stay safe!
This is now my go to waffle recipe! My kids love it so much they ask for it almost everyday! Thanks for the recipe, Michael! Btw can I store the dough in refrigerator overnight and use it the next morning? Much love from Indonesia ❤️
I know this is five years since you made this video so I'm hoping you can answer my questions anyway. What is the brand of waffle maker you used in this video, did you spray the plates before loading on the dough balls and if you did, do you spray again as you add each new ball of dough. Thank you so much. I absolutely adore your videos.
Thank you for your kind words and for watching my video. I'm sorry for the delayed response but I am glad to see that you enjoyed my video. I bought my Belgian Waffle Maker from lidl store in Belgium. in the video and I did not spray the plates with cooking spray before adding the dough balls. The plate in side is non stick, but you can always do so if you wish. I hope this information is helpful,

Hi micheal,
I like eat waffles with liquid caramel.
Would you show us how to prepare a successful caramel?
Thanks.
In Belgium it's called suikerwafel, sugar waffel. Eat it warm hmmmm
Inderdaad maar de juiste benaming blijft ‘Luikse wafel ´ 😉. En ja warm zijn ze het lekkerst
Can all this be done with hands.. ? Without the dough maker ?
Yes, I did it with hands. It's easier with hands, but takes more time is all
