I have never felt so memorable and nostalgic about this game when I come back again now as an adult, these game developers from miniclip made my young boring juvenile period feel so eventful and full of meaning during such a year in 2008 or 2009. Thank you miniclip for the innovative and creative games you made me had the chance to enjoy and play as a kid, really appreciate it, I never thought I did remember it again. Elementary school me could never get past the second level. I had no idea what to do on those moving platforms. But overall, I loved this game and have much nostalgia for it, despite being a Metal Slug clone. Then again, I didn’t know what Metal Slug was back then.

Commando 1 seem to be like metal slug..though i like it , but my favourite is Commando 2....nothing can beat it...cant believe these games only live in our heart...our kids wont be able to play them
Fun fact- if you don’t use a single bomb throughout Mission 4 until the final boss and keep collecting them throughout the mission (just use the D gun to shoot all the soldiers and tanks until you get on the fighter plane) and only shoot off one knob at a time on the left panel of the final boss, you can defeat that final boss without running out of weaponry. You won’t even get down to your stock pistol. If all your bombs, smoke shots, rockets, and machine gun bullets hit, you’ll defeat the boss before you run out of ammo.
The OSTs for the Commando series (and games with the graphic style such as Deep Sea Patrol) are always a banger. For this game I really like the one that plays at 11:18
I don't think I ever made it past midway through level 2, so thanks for showing us what a successful playthrough looks like 🤣 Overall a pretty good flash game, but the sequels greatly improved on this one.
I hated that jumping section at the start and it took me 3 tries to figure out you didn't have to jump over the crates at the top - you could shoot them
3 years later but whatever, this is what i found. You can find the first one as "Commando - Main Menu" and the second one as "Commando - Mission 1 Theme".
Is it possible to play this using a USB gamepad or joystick and buttons? Because I've noticed that if it is, this trilogy can be played with a rotary joystick for the aiming motion that is normally used with the mouse, thus giving it a Midnight Resistance-ish feel, and for the USB gamepad, the shoulder buttons could be used to aim as well.
