Hey there Professor! First of all, I've gotta say I'm a huge fan of your embedded systems videos - they're super insightful and fun to watch! I recently graduated with a degree in electromechanical engineering, and I've fallen head over heels for embedded systems. Now, I'm dreaming of freelancing in this field and turning my hobby into something more. I'd love to get your take on a few things: What do you think are the absolute must-have skills for someone like me who's just starting out in embedded systems and wants to dive into freelancing? How can I kickstart my portfolio and gain practical experience that's gonna impress potential clients or employers? Any friendly advice for a newbie like me looking to dip my toes into the freelance world of embedded systems? I know you've got tons of wisdom to share, and I'm all ears (well, eyes, in this case) for your insights! Your videos have been a real game-changer for me, and I can't wait to hear what you have to say. Cheers,
Creating this video is a geat idea by itself 🙂 As for more beginner-to-medium skills projects I'd say all of them related to health monitoring are quite interesting. You can find number of platforms allowing you to create wearable projects. You can measure your actvity like step count, type of activity (walking, running, etc.), and many others.
I would love to see a more detailed tutorial on how to make something like this, especially on the beginner side like making a digital clock maybe with some weather station features too…. Very cool video you make awesome content, liked and subscribed!
Detailed tutorials aren't good for you, you think you learned something but you don't. Think back when you learned how to ride a bicycle. Did you learn by watching or doing?
Is using arduino a correct way to make these projects as embedded engineer/student? I worked with ESP32 and FreeRTOS but that posted several challenges specially in software. Given that there aren't many resources available online. However, I was taught in uni that this is the intustrial way to make a project as compared to using arduino which is generally for hobbyists and not engineers in industry.
I‘m an advocate of „the correct way is what works for you“, I agree that an arduino would probably not be used in a production environment, but on the other hand it is easy to get, comparably cheap and you can do a lot of things with it. Of course you can opt for an ST32 chip or a Microchip PIC but there you will not have the same online community and amount of resources. Now if you try to self learn, I have found the community matters …
Professor, I am an embedded software engineer, would I contact you from some social media? I just want to discuss some technologies in embedded system.😊
I have made two of them projects. One is a home automation device which I have controlled using my own basic app. and second is IOT based Air Analysing system. I just wanna ask you how I can learn embedded operating system.
Dear professor, I need your help choosing a career. I am intrusted in software side of embedded system. I am confused between Computer Science and Computer Engineering ( this is an interdisciplinary course where half courses are from EE and other half from CS).
Great explanation Professor! I have seen many video for yours and Thank you for giving great project Ideas. I have done my Bachelor's in Electronics and Comm. from India and I have done many projects based on Embedded System I had participated in "Global Next Generation Water Action" challenge hosted by Denmark Technical University Skylab, where I used a Swadeshi(Indian) Microprocessor(VEGA-AS1061) based on "RISC-V ISA" for the automation of Sewage Treatment Plant along with IOT. Now I am planning to purse Master's in the field of Embedded System from "Germany", so could you please advice me some Universities of Germany which are best in Embedded System.
Hello brother, I am from India and am in last year of electrical engineering. I want to do my semester project on embedded system or any automation system. So please can you suggest some project ideas which are acceptable at semester projects and has good application. Thank you
I am software engineer... And wanted to start in Embedded Engineering in next year... Lefting the comment here...12 Dec 2023 will come after a year and see how much progress I had done in that field.. Anyone has good resources to start with kindly share
To build a robot or any vehicle like telsa. Which programming language is better. "C" or "Artificial Intelligence"? But in my opinion, AI is not embedded programming then how the telsa cars are made ??? Could u clear this notion please sir.
Embedded projects ideas:
1) Smart home automation
2) Digital clock
3) Weather station
4) Automatic plant watering system
5) Autonomous robot
6) Smart traffic management system
7) Autonomous drone
8) Embedded operating system
Thanks for giving this many project idea, now my vision is clear what my next project is.
Very insightful. Thank you Professor for all the project ideas!
Thank you, very helpful! I think, I´ll start with the plant watering system. Finally i have a reason to buy some plants^^.

Thanks Dr Florian, can you talk about embedded automotive in the next video ❤
Thank you, any thing particular in terms of automotive engineering that would be of interest?

I'm interested in Data Science and Embedded Systems. Do you think it would be a useful combination for some jobs?
Let me know if you found anything, I am pursuing the same thing altogether.
Thanks!
Thank you sir for the information 😊
Hey professor! I must say a great video. Can you provide tutorials on embedded system
