    Very informative video I was afraid that chat gpt will replace us as embedded software engineer 😂.
    Thanks Dr Florian please keep uploading more videos on embedded software topics ❤

    Interesting topic. Wouldn't it be wise to be a bit more cautious about making bold statements like the one at 11:05? You never mentioned what version you are actually using but I guess it was ChatGTP v3.5. So shouldn't you include some sort of disclaimer that it is only the current capabilities of ChatGTP (i.e. v3.5) you use as a context for your assessment of whether or not ChatGTP can replace Embedded Software Engineers? And that would of course almost inevitably raise the question how much next generations of AI will likely change that assessment. Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems you only tackled the easy but less important question about the danger/benfit of ChatGTP v3.5. I am not an AI expert, but I'd think that already GTP4 combined with Wolfram language plugin is significantly more capable in solving problems in Embedded Systems engineering. Of course none of us can accurately predict the future, but we already learned the hard way that AI is fully capable of disrupting whole industries, some of which until not long ago have been considered hallmarks of human creativity and "untouchable" by "machines".

    Do you think it's realistic to get into Hardware Engineering with a Computer Science degree in Germany? I'm currently doing my masters.

      Is both your masters and bachelor in computer science? If so I would be concerned that you are lacking the electronics engineering basics (e.g. PCB layouting …)

      @@fleitnerfischer Yes both. I focus on Embedded Systems in my Masters now. Maybe I try getting an internship in embedded software engineering at first to get experience. But I really want to deal with a physical produkt in my future job if thats possible.

      In a word -- don't! Use you analytical skills in finance. As an engineer, you will be treated as just a line item expense. Get out. Switch to finance. We live in a financialized world, and that's where the money and action is.

    Can one feed their code into ChatGPT and ask it to do a code review?

    • @fleitnerfischer
      @fleitnerfischer  Год назад +4

      Yes you can, but there are two things to consider: 1) There is a limit how long a prompt can be, so you might not be able to upload a complete project. 2) Once it is in the Cloud you can’t be certain what really happens with your code … so don’t do this with proprietary or confidential code.
