Note that the perk does not state UNIQUE targets hit. Even if all those shots were on the same target, you'll still get 50% of those shots refunded. 2. I just got the las fusil to relic and sniper to 25. Leveling was grueling until 20's. Now in the end game my issues are 1. The charge up of the las fusil is detrimental at times, especially against nids who seem to know that you are charging that weapon and warriors / thropes consistently juke the shot right as it is at the top of the charge. 2. Ammo, it's extremely difficult to maintain.
Been a Sniper main since launch, I feel your pain on those points. The things I would say to help out with them is 1. learn which enemies dodge (mostly the whip guys and the scattershot guys) and make sure they are "doing" something before trying to hit them, they will just hop around until they engage with an enemy or walk or start to actually shoot and you will just waste your shots. 2. get the ammo variant if you aren't using it, try and focus your gameplay around going cloak, shoot and kill an enemy then repeat. that won't always happen but every shot kind of has to be a headshot for it to be "worth it" otherwise its not that great. When you are clearing out a horde of enemies use your las fusil if you have the perk to regain ammo, if not the pistol can 1 shot kill gaunts with a headshot. it takes practice but its doable and at this point the only time I run out of ammo is on Reliquary on the bridge cause its just the one ammo box for that entire area and the previous one.
@@Trignama1 Going invis will make them stop reacting to you. Otherwise you unfortunately have to choose a different target for the time being. Perks wise also focus on charge speed. It kinda breaks that point between being able to stagger the enemy - or not. A staggered enemy cannot "make the decision" to dodge your follow up attacks all of a sudden, so if the 1st hit connects, it's dead. An enemy will never just simply dodge all of your shots from the get go, it's always after a couple of shots went past close by, so make sure your 1st hit is on target, or if it's your brothers' shots, ask them to let you innitiate fights, if possible, to reduce theese occurences.
Same. That's why i switched to stalker bolt rifle for tyranid missions and use las fusil for bosses or chaos. Chaos seems to just stand still and let you snipe them all day lol. Las fusil really destorys chaos marines. Also for tyranid missions because there are just so many more of them I always run out of ammo on las fusil that's why i changed all my perks to prioritize ammo over even more shot charge speed. I pick up the one at the end but right now my las fusil has 30 shots and that usually gets me through most sections until i can get to another ammo crate on chaos missions. Stalker bolt is not as strong for 1 shot but it shoots faster so you can get like 2.5 shots onto target before you can shoot the las fusil once and it will most likely hit the target you're shooting rather than missing and wasting a very expensive shot. Also the other good thing i like about the stalker over las fusil on tyranid missions is that you don't have to aim with scope. You can aim down the sights and keep firing and have more awareness of what's going on around you. This i like more as well since when im scoped in i cant tell if I'm inside of a green bramble bush.
Sniper is my last class to level. By the emperor, is it powerful in the right hands, especially against nids. Being able to two/three shot warriors when they're surrounded by gaunts is so satisfying. I also love being that distance support for the meele focused classes. Getting zoanthropes, terminators, and bosses out of the fight extremely quickly is such a great feeling.
It's is unbelievable how uncomfortable I get when a zoa or neuro show up when I'm in any other class. But when I'm the sniper I fucking love. Four shots for the two zoa's and were done and then cloak and fuck the neuro up. It's great.
As a sniper main, some advice I can give(Las Fusil): Prioritize enemies, 1-major ranged (doesn’t matter which one), 2-ranged minors, 3- any major that a teammate doesn’t have sights on or currently engaging. Trust your teammates to be able to handle themselves in a horde but what they can’t count on is ranged enemies chipping away their armor and health making it even worse if they miss a parry. Don’t be afraid of spending your cloak, with the 20% recharge on every headshot its next to impossible to run out unless you aren’t aiming for the head. Don’t hesitate to take a shot, one second delay can cause the enemy to jump around and do unpredictable things. When out ammo fear not for you are not out of options, the fencing knife is so good to keep enemies off you and while yes they aren’t good at horde clearing, need remember that isn’t your job, your job is the majors. You always have 1st dibs on ammo crates period. Last one is have fun, the sniper role isn’t an easy one but when you max it out the satisfaction of being able to take out a zoanthrope that is gonna harass a bulmark in one shot is unparalleled
@italiansparatcus oi m8. Idk if you're hip to this, but if you use the +damage las fusil, you only need 2 headshot perks from the weapon, and you don't need the "sit still for 2 seconds" perk to one shot majoris from cloak. You'll still have 18 ammo if you run the appropriate weapon perks. I feel like it's worth it. Alternatively, if you don't run the +damage variant, you'll need all 3 weapon headshot perks, and the "sit still for 2 seconds" perk to one shot tyranid majoris. Still viable, but a heavier build investment, and a slower wind-up since you have to wait 2 seconds. If you take the +damage variant, the "sit still for 2 seconds" perk is effectively useless, as it won't change any of your kill thresholds.
It's super cool to see other people's way of evaluating perks/weapons, etc. You have some similar thoughts to me, but also some different ones. I've built my sniper to be more of a support emergency medic than a damage spiker. Keep it up! :)
Thanks for your hard work! If I can offer positive feedback: I think you strike a good balance of going into detail but not getting so granular as to make watching a slog, you explain your thought process and give a good idea of what it all ends up feeling like. This is how you make class guides for beginners/people who aren't very good and want to improve and understand more how to engage with the class and its synergies. The early TL;DW is also a nice touch.

Close range sniper, carbine and knife from stealth is fun. Also, heavy knife attack from stealth absolutely destroys shields, works on bulwarks as well, last time i checked
I prefer the melee sniper with the SMG variant. The scoped gameplay loop is clearly the superior option, however, you're not my real dad and I don't have to listen to you.
If a greater headshot bonus isn't given to the bolt carbine; a nice, lore-accurate option to open up an alternate playstyle would be the instigator bolt carbine. Obviously not necessary but would just seem fun.
So I started playing on Bulwark and for my second character I said let’s go polar opposite. I can assuredly say sniper is probably just as much, if not more fun, than Bulwark. Excited to see your take on the class
I love your guides , thanks man . I wonder if anyone here has seen Diablo planner for example... A simple app. like that would make builds so great because then we don't have to watch small parts of the vid 10 times to copy--just refer to the planner .
You got me through Tactical, let's see if you can get me through Bolt Carbine When only 2 of the top tier perks are taken, it's indicative of garbage at high levels.
Keep in mind, those who are still leveling up might be kind of inexperienced, so taking less health damage is still quite usefull for the time being. Vantage Point is absolutely amazing when you open up fights with camo bonus damage and against bosses. It hits a breaking point that allows you to kill instead of incapacitate ranged majoris with 1 shot with Las Fusil. Take into account Lingering Concealment, you can get out 3 shots before they even react to you. This makes up for the 10% extra ammo perk you seem to prefer, at least with this weapon, since you don't need a second shot. And ofcourse if you are not focused by a boss, 20% extra damage is free. Ambush is absolutely garbage. Without it enemies beline for your battlebrothers, with it they are just too unpredictable, making it harder to clear waves or headshot majoris. Especially for what you have to give up: 2 seconds of free damage by staying invisble. The weapon perk Instant Health is literally broken, it never deactivates above 30% (for the entirety of the ops!!!) and seems to have no cooldown either. If you have tons of gants, you heal to full in seconds. My guess is that going invisible overwrites some of your player condition states, which the game doesn't seem to remember afterwards. With the carbine perks, you can't get all of "theese six", the first of the rightmost perks (of the hexagon) you pick will lock out the other one. Asuming that Rapid Health is probably broken as well, I'd rather take that. Since health is the most scarce resource in lethal, even if the perk gets fixed it's better than some recoil reduction. It get's you up to 30-34%, which is better than scraping by on 1 hp until you can find a stim.
My build is pretty much the same other than the fact that I use Adept Medica when I use the Stalker Bolt rifle. I usually only melee when swarmed and keep away from Majoris enemies by either perfect dodging then gun shot or normal dodging and then aiming in with the Stalker for a headshot anyways. A little tougher to pull of with the BSR so that's when I go for Melee Master. I do not usually like sniper gameplay in my games, but I do like it here. I started with the Bolter Sniper Rifle and loved it. Now I am leveling my Stalker's and am enjoying that as well. Next, I am switching to a melee build and leveling up the carbine. I will get to the Las at the very last because I am hearing that I am going to love it anyways.
Shoulder bash is what changed the knife from bad to okay for me, pretty much only because it helped me deal with swarms of small enemies so much better, so I recommend trying that, shadowstab on the other hand I don't think I ever got good use out of in the one game where I tried it, in fact it probably hurt me more than helped me, although I never used that cloak+shadow stab thing you brought up, and I wanna try that. This might not be a good idea to bring up as I would need to test more to be confident in saying that the carbine is better than the stalker bolt rifle in most situation; the carbine has about 3 times the ammo of the rifle but only half the damage per shot (in the scoped variant), so effectively the carbine is a much better single target killer due to the DPS and total damage advantage - I only tested this on green weapons when I was lvl ~12.
Great video. I've got my sniper to 25 and bolt sniper to relic. There is stuff in this video that I wasn't aware off, for a start I didn't realise we had to select what perks we used. As for the Fusil, I've not even seen it in the armoury. Is this under the load outs, where do I select it?
The way to fix the bolt sniper is to make it the premier headshot kill weapon. The issue is the las knocks things in the same amount of shots but it also wrecks trash. There’s zero reason to use the bolt
Does anybody know, if you get the 75% damage buff a second time in the 2 second window where you stay invisible after a shot that breaks camo cloak? Or is it explicitly there to let you get a second shot off undisturbed at base damage?
For the headstrike kills do you know why a gunstrike execution doesn't count as a headshot kill? It doesn't trigger my 15% ability recharge. Is this intended or a bug?
hey, how do we know for sure that headshot damage is not the same as gun strike damage? i thought they were the same and most steam guides said the same. did a player test it out or did the devs clear it up?
sorry i dont get why you are saying vantage point + targeted shot works well off eachother arent you still limited by how quickly your cloak recharges?
No version of the marksman bolt carbine has a functioning scope, which is kinda weird. The instigator carbine has one, i would prefer it without a scope and rather have one on the marksman carbine
15 Damage Relic variant of Las Fusil plus 2 headshot weapon tree perk and cloak break shot (+100% plus damage; 75% of the perk and 25% innate bonus of the class) can 1 shot kill ranged elites.
if you use the +20% damage while dtanding still perk with the same setup you can swap out the damage version of Las to ammo variant and still do 1 shot's headsot of majoris to red state
I’m not even convinced Vantage Point works, there’s no indicator that pops up to tell you you’ve been stationary for 2s or longer so I presume it’s bugged and never take it
It works for sure. You can test it with breakpoints. Without it a fully specced, ammo version relic las rifle will NOT 1 shot headshot majoris. With that perk it will. Just like a dmg version of las rifle will which is also +20% dmg like the perk.
My sniper brothers for the love of the emperor if your close range friends get something to execute, let them finish it 😂. Some of you kill theives out there are literally killing your own team. Best sniper's play support and set their buddies up for finishers.
"By the time you get to your third shot" its still not dead. After hitting it with perks that give you a 205% first shot, Always to the head with a gun that does bonus headshot damage. Its still not dead and then another bro kills it because its flashing. And then you just wasted another shot for nuthing, which is very frustrating, insane, and constant. It should 2 shots max, ruthless and above, anything lower one. AND MORE AMMO TOO, A LOT MORE PLSE! 19 SHOTS TO KILL 3 WARRIORS IS NOT FUN!
14:49 is a bold face lie! You cannot shadow stab out of invis on a Majors’s and “ outright execute them” . I know this is true though multiple tests. Additionally, you didn’t even show a video of you doing it. So please stop with the misinformation.
Personally I prefer to use the +100% melee damage from invis perk (with shadowstrike on my knife). It almost oneshots majors on lethal, nukes bosses and most of all - I can forget about ammo economy. Can't run out of steel in my knife. Full range build on sniper is very problematic to use on lethal anyway.
I prefer one dead devourer from great distance to oneshotting 1 majoris in close range. This automatically gives you back your ability if you are quick, so make that two or three. When you conserve ammo, by only sniping priority targets (or hordes of gants, since it's free), you are more of a boon to the squad than another melee character with low armor, low base melee damage and very little cleave.
@Mohrrunkel well, of course, I don't go full melee, it's pointless, I'd better pick a melee class for that. I use a gun as intended and mostly deal range damage, but also I'm not useless in melee, I can actually deal normal damage to bosses (sniper's guns are borderline useless against any except neurotrope because they shake their little heads like Jim Carrey in that "What is love" meme clip) and I never run out of ammo (while if I just shoot I will run out after 2-3 fights, especially against chaos). I value diversity and universality more then raw damage numbers.
I disagree with the fencing knife, it feels waaay too slow when you're forced into melee combat and Sniper gets no perk benefits from perfect parries unlike a Bulwark or Tactical
Parrying minoris swarm gives back armor which is crucial for survival. When swarmed by gaunts, you can parry-kill and gain armor much easier with fencing weapon. If I can be just half as good as parrying with balanced, I'd pick the balanced knife any day (it is my choice when running Vanguard with his 50% parry window perk). Unfortunately, I am not that good.

When only 2 of the top tier perks are taken, it's indicative of garbage at high levels.
3:20 AYO!? what u doin' with ur rifle barrel brother- 😂😂
The Carbine might be better closer up, while the Stalker is a better ranged option (better accuracy and range).
@@youtubevoice1050 I'm talking about the scoped carbine, so accuracy and range is about the same (I tested from quite far away as well)
@@mossblomma I would say it's closer to the Instigator.
@@youtubevoice1050 Yeah both of them are similar to the instigator as well, but kinda irrelevant since the sniper can't use the instigator sadly.
Great video. I've got my sniper to 25 and bolt sniper to relic. There is stuff in this video that I wasn't aware off, for a start I didn't realise we had to select what perks we used. As for the Fusil, I've not even seen it in the armoury. Is this under the load outs, where do I select it?
I run that smg build on my sniper, bullets kind of track to the head so ability comes up quicker.
Or is it explicitly there to let you get a second shot off undisturbed at base damage?
how to get mastery ponit on weapon ? I play a lot on chainsword and i have only 5 perks on it.
For the headstrike kills do you know why a gunstrike execution doesn't count as a headshot kill? It doesn't trigger my 15% ability recharge. Is this intended or a bug?
Lets GOOOOOOO Spartacus
hey, how do we know for sure that headshot damage is not the same as gun strike damage? i thought they were the same and most steam guides said the same. did a player test it out or did the devs clear it up?
sorry i dont get why you are saying vantage point + targeted shot works well off eachother
arent you still limited by how quickly your cloak recharges?
No version of the marksman bolt carbine has a functioning scope, which is kinda weird. The instigator carbine has one, i would prefer it without a scope and rather have one on the marksman carbine
15 Damage Relic variant of Las Fusil plus 2 headshot weapon tree perk and cloak break shot (+100% plus damage; 75% of the perk and 25% innate bonus of the class) can 1 shot kill ranged elites.
if you use the +20% damage while dtanding still perk with the same setup you can swap out the damage version of Las to ammo variant and still do 1 shot's headsot of majoris to red state
😂😂😂 "the BUTTER NUT"😂😂😂

I’m not even convinced Vantage Point works, there’s no indicator that pops up to tell you you’ve been stationary for 2s or longer so I presume it’s bugged and never take it
It works for sure. You can test it with breakpoints. Without it a fully specced, ammo version relic las rifle will NOT 1 shot headshot majoris. With that perk it will. Just like a dmg version of las rifle will which is also +20% dmg like the perk.
they released the dark angels stuff yet?
Im levelling sniper right now and I always forget to use the ability. Lol.
My sniper brothers for the love of the emperor if your close range friends get something to execute, let them finish it 😂.
Some of you kill theives out there are literally killing your own team. Best sniper's play support and set their buddies up for finishers.
"By the time you get to your third shot" its still not dead.
After hitting it with perks that give you a 205% first shot,
Always to the head with a gun that does bonus headshot damage.
You shouldn't be poaching executes anyway. If youre not in melee combat, leave the executes for your melee tm8s buying you space
So we just going to let him say “right up my ass” huh 😂
Then keep going like nothing happened
If only saber let sniper's have the heavy bolt pistol not for any specific reason really other than why not.

7 ads on a 20 mins vid, chill out bud, love your vids but that's silly to have to go through...
I don't think he can do something about that. That's all RUclipss doing
it doesnt rly make sense sniper cant use the instigator
I love sniper class but i have one problem. GIVE ME THE NORMAL PHOBOS HELMET
