When did you add the taste? I can't imagine you get a tasty soup out of water tomatoes salt and egg. I cooked this following another recipe including chicken broth soy sauce garlic and some spices and even this had a super gentle taste. But I'll give it a try
+Weronika van Bree Usually, in China, it was served with other main dishes for a full meal. I also ate it alone as a quick lunch too. It's healthy, because it's not fried and is a lighter dish. It's nutritious, because of the protein in the egg(s), tomatoes are a good source of vitamin C and potassium and such, and the water is hydrating (and a lot of people don't drink enough water). It goes well with other more savory foods though, because it's like a palette cleanser. It's slightly tangy from the tomatoes, but has a light flavor; so, it goes well with things that have a different, stronger flavor--like BBQ type foods or things with sauces to them.
She just meant to stir in only one direction (instead of switching directions), so you get the nice ribbons of egg, instead of clumps of egg in the soup. :P
First of all thank you for making these videos and sharing your healthy recipes. Chinese restaurants use copious amounts of grease and MSG. Good to know I don't have to eat unhealthy to satisfy my Chinese food cravings. But I just have a little feedback; In all your videos, I find that you speak too quietly. Your voice is barely louder that the ambient static sounds in the bg and I have to turn my volume up just to hear what you are saying.
I see you are frying ingredients in your soup videos. Why do you need to fry tomatoes for soup? Frying will make it so oily because you need to add certain amount of oil.
