given the fact that the social worker can be picked from the match maker i wouldn't ever do that again, also is there like a secret underground base for the 100 or so workers, or did they all hit the gas immediately when they saw him failing and came from the whole state
I have the opposite of a corruption story. Before I knew it was a thing, I messed with boolProp, i deleted Sims I was unhappy with, moved occupied houses into the bin, and just generally did stuff that was bad for the health of my game. And yet, I continued to play that installation for 3 years with minimal glitchiness, even making a 6-generation legacy family. Even now that I have hundreds of script mods in my game I don't have many wild glitch stories. I just want to share this because some players have an almost supernatural fear of corruption and it scares a lot of would-be new players away. obviously if i continued playing that save it would eventually break, and you should still avoid corruption at all costs, but it's not the immediate the death sentence some say it is.
Yes, some players are fortunate enough to not experience much or any corruption. Still not sure why this happens but I am aware that everyone’s game corrupts at different rates and whatnot. 🤔
In TS2 case, mods themselves rarely can actually break the game, however REMOVING them can cause shit sometimes - one of them is the Super Duper Hug Bug.
When I first discovered testingcheats I also started spawning every single NPC I could see in the list (Grim, Mrs. Crumplebottom, the therapist, the social bunnies, debug objects, I mean, everyone) and I also managed to kill some of them so I could have a really interesting graveyard, and I didn't know how much it would ruin my game. I played normally for a really long time, the corruption didn't show until months after, and one truly sad day, when I loaded the neighborhood (I was using Pleasantview, which is already corrupted to begin with if you're not using a clean template) the first thing I noticed was that all my babies, toddlers and children were missing from every single household, and I thought it was just a thumbnail glitch, until I loaded one of the lots and I found all my teens, adults and elders sims standing by the mailbox, and my children, toddlers and babies were really gone. Also, all their family ties had disappeared, but still had relationship points with each other. I couldn't see if my children were still in a family tree because nobody was related to anybody, and if that wasn't enough! All of my elders and teens were considered adults, and all my adults had their lifespans reset to the beginning of the stage. I opened the other lots, and they were all the same. My entire neighborhood was gone, and I couldn't believe I had lost all my progress :(
Ok, this one is from the sims 3, and also sorry for my bad english. I created a family that had a ghost toddler who died of freezing. I made her a mother who was a witch, and I started playing. The mother had 2 other babies. When the ghost toddler aged up into a child, the mother started acting like a ghost, going through things, making ghost sounds, and her portrait even got to be a ghost portrait. I tried to reset the lot several times, but it only got worse. It got to the point where her relationships were gone and she could no longer have moodlets. I really don't know what happened, I still have this save but I never managed to fix it.
I once had Daniel and Kaylynn's child being frustrated with Daniel because he kissed Kaylynn (her mom). I was shocked, checked the relationship bars and found out that the relationship between her and Daniel was a romantic relationship (however she was his daughter before aging to a teen). I fixed the relationships with sim manipulator. Also once I had a "puddle" telling me that "he is finished for the day" lol. However, I was very careful about corruption in both of these saves but it eventually happens I guess.
I also have a horror story from sims 3 So, I borrowed sims 3 base game and ambitions EP to my friend, and we were sitting in their room and playing; using cheats, buying bunch of stupid and unnecessary items etc. And we had used the code to get acces to buydebug mode, so we can buy more weird stuff for our sims My friend thought it would be great to buy a lot of ghosts closed in glass containers, you can get them normally while working as a ghost hunter, and you can also open the glass container and set the ghost free And we did freed all the ghosts, about 20 i think, and suddenly the game has crashed, understandable - it's sims 3 At the time I think my friend had some dog pic set as a desktop backgroud, black and white fuzzy puppy or something like that And after the crash this dog picture wasn't black and white anymore, instead it was bright pink and neon yellow We were about 10-12 yo, so you can imagine how shocked and panicked we were in that moment, we thought the ghosts took control on the computer and were mad at us Lol xD
Fun corruption story that was completely my fault: I have the UC and the original game disk with all expansions except FreeTime. I installed the UC on my laptop. Then I had the great idea of installing the disk version because maybe I could play both versions- So I installed TS2 and nightlife and... I was wrong. It would load the save files from I think the "The Sims 2", however showed the "The Sims 2: Fun With Pets Collection" (basically UC) when starting the game. So.. I was only able to play one version, in this case the UC. However this was not it: When playing a fresh Pleasantview that I started just before installing the disk version (the cleaned version mind you), the sims would glitch out when I didn't do the scripted events with them yet. So Don didn't glitch because I was done with him, the Pleasants however.. Mary Sue never came back from work (when she should have?), Daniel suddenly played a I think divorce animation and left the household, the girls kept arguing no matter what interaction I gave them. Every sim that came around had their.. legs inverted? They walked but their legs bent inwards? It was spooky. And I KNEW something was up when that vodoo master showed up at their doorstep. So.. from there I went back to the neighborhood, no saving. I tried another script, not played yet family. That family where the guy is painting for a living. Same stuff, except his son never came back from school and he kept complaining to me with white lines inside bubbles, also he resetted everytime after doing so (face on UI changed every 2 secs). Didn't really check/pay attention on the townies, I straight up closed the game after seeing the lines. I just knew the double install had something to do with it. Moved the whole save folder to generate a new one (only copying over cameras and settings), let it reload from one of the two folders for shits and giggles. Mind you, UC had the clean one, BG had the original. I don't know what happened, I can only think of the game trying to.. load both at the same time. Needless to say... the Pleasantview that was loaded.. was completely corrupted. Half the sims missing in neighborhood view and I couldn't load a lot. I deleted both games afterwards and reinstalled UC only. That was a weird experience lmao
Cool you included my comment :) yeah that social worker thing was crazy lol. I think I remember hearing about the nanny thing before too, not sure if it happens to any of my houses. The stories where Sims faces get deleted/distorted are interesting. Also the game corruption stuff when the object files get messed with and objects behave like Sims etc is really fascinating lol.
Probably the worst thing that ever went wrong in my game was during my first year playing. I was playing the Sims 3 and still new to the franchise, so I didn't know about glitches or corruption. I had been playing a family all summer, but one day I opened the game and all my saves were gone. I don't remembering having CC at the time, so to this day I have no idea what happened. I literally cried because I'd spent so much time on that family (to be fair I was eleven or twelve). Needless to say, I learned the importance of backing up save files. Also congrats on getting 1k subs! I remember you having 100 lol
A bit long, sorry: I was recently messing around trying to figure out why Knut Futa acts like a baby in sims 2 (hint: it's the unmarked age and not much else lol), so I made a testing neighborhood and a family of identical sims to run some tests on. I made one as similar to Knut's code (removed about everything I could see in SimPE) as I could and started up the game. He was sitting at the front of the lot by the mailbox, laying like a baby, and his aspiration meter was completely red. He kept jumping up, waving his hands around (his aspiration changed from pleasure to fortune somehow???) to complain about his aspiration, then fell back down after. Nobody could interact with him, and townies kept passing by and clearly trying to interact with him, waving at him and stuff, then just walking away after giving up. I decided to leave him there to let the social worker get him after a bit, and once his hunger need got low enough, first of all it stopped decreasing (which makes me think baby sims can't actually die), but he would occasionally start crying like a baby and his body would glitch into the floor. When the social worker came she ratted out all his 6 other roommates (lol) and then tried to grab him, but couldn't, so after a couple in-game hours he was teleported to the car. With how adoption in sims 2 works this means he's somewhere in the adoption pool, but given his unmarked age I can't even begin to guess where. I want to try to adopt him with another family but I don't even know what age to choose for the child, lmao. Wild.
@@Grimonvacation oooo, that'd be freaky! I'm gonna see if I can't track him down in SimPE first (if I can do that I can figure out wtf happened to him without much testing and maybe even how to adopt him) but as soon as I figure it out I might try that, even if only just to see if it somehow messed up the adoption system in that neighborhood lol, thatd be wild. Thanks for the idea!
Dont know if someone's still reading these comments, but i have a funny story too. One time i played Sims 3 with my best friend and we tested some cheats and stuff. We killed a few Sims and when the Grim Reaper came we deleted him and continued to kill the Sims. But because we deleted the Reaper the Sims just layed on the ground. So we had a town with many dead bodies lying around. :D So we placed stones and rocks on them as Graveyards :D
My child was kidnapped by the babysitter in the sims 3, they picked him up and walked away, eventually disappearing at the edge of the map and my toddler was taken off my family of playable sims. I have trauma from this now I never want to call my sims a babysitter anymore😭😭😭😭
Why does everybody call testingcheats "boolprop"? BoolProp is a data type. The term "boolprop" is actually an abbreviation of "Boolean property", which is a data type that can hold either a "true" or a "false". The best way to think of Booleans is to basically consider them to be on/off switches. "testingcheatsenabled" is an example of a Boolean property. Turning it on (setting it to true) tells the game to give the player access to testing cheats, while turning it off (setting it to false) revokes this access. I hope this clears things up well.
I'm not sure if this counts as a corruption horror story, but it scared me a ton. So this has happened to me a few times on my older PCs. I would be playing Sims 2 casually, and whenever I pressed the record video button (V?), the ENTIRE LOT and ALL THE SIMS turned pitch black. Like, everything just turned into the darkest of blacks. Their skin, their clothes, their hair, their eyes (think kinda like the Mysterious Sim that pops up in memories of pre-created sims), the furniture, the wallpaper, the floor - EVERYTHING turned pitch black. Scared the living hell out of me! Even when I saved and went out to the neighbourhood view, the entire lot would be pitch black along with the sims in the family photo. Looking back on it, it was kinda funny to see a giant black hole in the middle of a green village. But man, that scared me, and I still have no idea what caused it or how to fix it. It was probably because of a not-very-updated graphics card. I haven't heard anyone else talk about it unfortunately. On the same computer, I also faced a glitch where all the moving cars in the neighborhood were white boxes with random purple faded text on them.
This is the Sims 4 but... I was just playing a family like normal and suddenly my adult Sims started T-Posing and my toddlers started teleporting while walking- They didn't stop. The worst part is: I didn't even have any mods installed. Since that day my toddlers won't stop teleporting.
Oof, I once had a genius idea to remove the family relationship between Pascal's baby and his alien father, so I hopped on simpe and did just that. I messed up the process somehow, because all hell broke loose in my game. Most sims had 6 want slots all of a sudden, even teens and children, teens were behaving like elders, relationships with dead sims started appearing. At one point Ripp Grunt started recognizing his dead mother as a pet, and he had a fear of her running away. I ran HoodChecker, and the list of errors it detected was massive. Anyways, I just deleted that save and moved on, and I've been playing on the same save since 2018 without corruption so far.
The whole world depends on Pascal's alien baby's familial status with Pascal. You can't just disconnect Tycho the savior from his dad without having armageddon start right away.
@@glanni I was trying to remove default PT from my game hahah, not Pascal, Pascal is an icon and deserves the world. Well I guess I learned my lesson that day
I have a Sims 4 glitch. So when a toddler in the household I was playing on aged up, the child still had the communication skill, as well as the other child skills. Whenever I would reset the child, it would play the baby aging up into a toddler animation, which made the ankles on the child break off of its feet. Luckily I was able to fix this by going in and out of CAS mode, but I found it creepy.
the stealing babies thing happened to me in sims 3 too. i killed my sims' wife by dragging her hunger bar all the way down and when she died, she was holding their child and disappeared with it (the kid was no longer in the family or anything). i have no idea how that even happened 😭
Omg my corruption/glitch story appeared on here! I’m so surprised 😳 Thankfully when I played the ottomas family, I didn’t play in one sitting....I played them for a long while (I played sims 2 from the moment I woke up, til I went to bed at the time I started destroying the ottomas family) & then after like a month of not playing....the game just erased my progress which is sad but I guess the game was telling me “don’t give your sims so many kids” 😂
I don't know if this counts as a glitch or corruption horror story, but remember back in 2012 (when I first got The Sims 2 on PC), I was messing around with cheats and I don't know how, I put Olive Specter on the roof of her house, cloned her, then I put one of them on top of a toilet, and she has drowned inside it... 😱😳 The Sims 2 on PC has always freaked me out. 😂😂😂
I kept having this issue in multiple saves over the years but sims would randomly at about 1:00 AM or some other time at night show up and invite themselves into Olive Specter's house. they didn't ring the doorbell but just walked in. in the same game Olive was also constant furious but the thought bubble showed a cup of water, or it was blank. also I continously resurrected Lerato and the terrain outside the home lot kept disappearing.
Once I had like 300 children in Sims 3. My sim was a casanova and had children with everyone in town. Sadly with that many sims, my game was super laggy, I always new when a new baby is about to be born because my game froze up for minutes... saving game was another story, it took like a half an hour to save.
I'm a bit late to the party, but here's a story that's happening with me in my game right now: So, I've been playing The Sims 2 for years, when I was a dumb kid, I used to delete sims the worst ways, mess up with cheats and accidentally do other things that could corrupt the game. Even though I would do these (without knowing they caused corruption), my game worked pretty fine, no corruption ever happened to me that time unless a single time where my game kept spamming error messages. Nowadays I try to keep my saves far from corruptions the most I can. Yet, my game is getting really glitchy lately???? For aparently no reason as I can see??? It all started with apartments not working at all, I would put my sim to get a dorm and the game would spam error messages after that making it unplayable. I decided to avoid playing in apartments after that. Then, the game started giving me very weird buy wishes. The icons were invisible and the wishes were always like "buy ", I thought that happened because of the very old objects CC I had that probably would be glitchy, so I didn't care much (for some reason). Then, the burglar alarm simply *disappeared* from the catalog. I couldn't buy it anywhere, it simply vanished. Plus, the all-in-one alarm CC I had in the game would force errors everytime I loaded a household with it. And now, today I played a household with 8 sims. Everything was going (almost) fine, but then, after one of my sims finished taking a shower, her body got all pink and started flashing in a weird, slow way while she was t-posing and sliding instead of walking????? I minimized the game to try getting some help in that, but when I came back, her body came entirely to normal. I was a bit scared, but ignored thinking it was harmless. After a time, I decided to save the game and I just realized the flashing-body glitch crashed my game completely :( Thanks god I had a recent save before that happening and that didn't happen again, but I have a feeling my game is corrupted. I feel like I downloaded something *really* broken in my game, but I spent so much time in that downloads folder, I'm a bit upset in having to restart it lmao
I have a corruption story for if you do another one of these. I was playing university and everything was fine, until for some reason the Food Judge NPC came onto the dorm lot and I couldn't delete her or move her or anything and she's STILL STANDING THERE TO THIS DAY and she won't go away. I haven't played that lot since. I really don't know what happened, but she's there, and she isn't leaving. It's kinda spooky.
One time the dad of one of my families in sims 3 was holding their baby when a fire started, then he was on fire and I couldn’t put it out cause he never let go of that damn baby to go to the shower!! He couldn’t move and wouldn’t let go of the baby no matter what I tried so he died 😩 I didn’t know how to reset sims at the time 🫠
I remember one time I was playing university and my sim went to class and never came home. She was still showing in my playable sims but nothing I did could bring her back to my lot.
That reminds me of the time one of the families that came with Pets (sims 2) had a toddler that suddenly had a dog as their dad.. also saw the grim reaper in the family tree once, I feel like it was Olive, not 100% sure though
I don't know how, but I only encountered one sign of corruption during my many years of playing the Sims 2 - I found the penguins so cute I wanted to add one to my household. Surprisingly it worked and it was added, but after t-posing by the trash can for a while, it turned into a faceless woman, and was actually interactable. It also didn't have a face in the Sims panel as well and interestingly it had no voice. Since then, I try to avoid this tight-hoodie-zip up dress and the helmet-bob haircut because trauma lol
In my invisible npc video I actually explain this sort of thing. It’s creepy! The rc cars and others like the penguin are just objects or shells and invisible Sims stick to them and walk around to make it look like the rc car or penguin are moving! 😖
@@Grimonvacation yeah I made it out after watching that video of yours (I've actually watched each twice lol), but why I think it was corrupted is because my woman wasn't completely invisible, she didn't disappear even when the penguin disappeared and she was interactable. I mean it was interactable for a few minutes, then the game crashed, but still for like 9-year-old me that was the creepiest thing ever lol
I also have a corruption story. This was a couple years ago. I started playing the sims 2 when I was 5 (I'm now 21) so I know a lot about the game. But when I was 15 I did not know that ghost childeren could corrupt your game. So I was in a self made neigbourhood playing with one of my favorite families. The parents had 4 kids. A teen, twin kids and a toddler. I was mainly watching the mom and the toddler. The father was at work and the other kids were making their homework. (Or so I thought) After a while I wanted to check on the twins when I relised that one of the twins faces was not on the side of the screen anymore. After searching the lot I found the gravestone of the twin next to the pool. (She went into the pool and drowned without me noticing) I moved the grave to a place in the garden and continued playing but I was very sad. That night in the game I heard ghost sounds. I looked around and saw the ghost of the twin but when I took a closer look at her I saw that she constanty had a grin on her face. And then hidden NPC's started appearing like the witch doctor and bigfoot. I was very confused by this so I decided to close the game. The next day I wanted to play the family again. But when I loaded up the neigbourhood and went to the house, the family had dissappeared. The house was still there but the entire family was gone. I learned the hard way that ghost childeren are bad news
There was this weird thing, that happened, where I was playing around with cheats when I didn't know about corruption. So I was playing The Sims 2 Deluxe with Free Time installed and was playing a family. I used cheats to invite a lotta people to my lot. I don't knkw what happened then, but I clearly remember the mode music being...swapped? Like, when I was in buy mode, the music stopped but when I returned to Live mode, the shopping music played. I didn't know what to do, so I closed the game. This happened only once and then never again and it kind of makes me wonder what exactly caused it to happen... Also, this one has nothing to do with the other story, just a little funny story: This happened around the time when I discovered and experimented with cheats. My sister and I were in our parents' bedroom playing Sims 2 and spamming motherlode. I did it very quickly (by that meaning expanding the cheat bar and pressing UP). Suddenly, the PC just turned off for no reason. My sister and I were shocked and scared because we thought we broke it. So we had to go to our parents who were in our basement and telling them that we MAY have broken the PC whilst trying not to cry. They then laughed and told us that they just cut the power to change a lightbulb. This was both the most shocking and also most relieving random thing that happened to me.
On the sims 3, I have this recurring issue with my children and teenage sims. It’s weird, I can still control them but they can’t leave the lot they are on, and when I switch to my normal sims, I can’t click on the corrupted sim to chat. Also the corrupted sim’s icon disappears and with as time goes by it only gets worse. I tried all of the following: Restarting the game, Resetting my sim, deleting my sim, and aging the sim. Nothing worked. And the sim won’t age, the action cancels itself and the sim just stands there. I also can’t edit them and I am unable to force them to age. Teleportation actions also do not work. The only way I have been able to remove these corrupted sims is by drowning them. I still have the grave of one of my corrupted sims. Her ghost never appears, and when I have my sims mourn over her grave her icon still doesn’t appear over their heads, it’s just a white bubble. I would really like some help, I have a feeling that this is going to destroy my game or something (i don’t know). Can somebody help me?
I don’t think it would destroy your game since the Sims 3 isn’t as fragile as the Sims 2 but I’ve never heard of this happening so I’m not sure how to help. I will be doing research on Sims 3 glitches and other game errors that can occur but that’s not until later on. I hope you can find a fix but I’ll definitely write this down as something to research later.
The first story also happened to me lol but I didn't add 5 burglars, I think it happened because I installed SimPE and I didn't know how to use it bc english is not my first language and I was a kid, I didn't understand what I was doing, then when I entered my game every sim was t-posing and blue, I just reinstalled my game :(
Ooh, I see. I’ve heard of people messing around in sim PE and accidentally doing something, even without knowing until they see the effects of it in their game.
here’s my little corruption story: i played the Sims 2 yesterday and i downloaded the Story Progression mod and i was playing rotationnally. I played the Broke descendants household and all of a sudden, my sims body texture was corrupted like blinking purple and t-posing but they kept living their lives. I just restarted the game and everything came back to normal. I don’t know if it occurred because of the Story Progression Mod.
This is referred to as “purple soup” in the Sims 2 community. I’m actually working on a video about it right now. It’s not corruption, it’s a graphics/video card issue. Basically, your computer/game runs out of graphics memory which causes this. Usually using other programs in the background like a recording software cause this to happen more often, for example, like it does in pleasantsims’s livestreams.
@@Grimonvacation i’m quite concerned about by computer that has 16GB of RAM and 8GB of graphic memory but i think that it’s also because i’m running the game on Windows 10
@@alexbertrand6572 It’s probably a mix of all those things. I’m still researching more about it but I hope my video can help you when it’s out if you haven’t gotten any help by then.
I have a short corruption story and a bit longer explanation why the game was so buggy. One day I bought a Sims 2 Harry Potter CD thinking it was the real deal, well, I was a child and didn’t know any better at the time. Funny thing, russian dodgy game companies love to pirate popular games like Sims and GTA, installing mods in them and modifying them a bit. My game had different start menu with Harry Potter images, music from the movie and new town called Hogwards. The game completely messed my PC and I had to reinstall it. Well, here’s the corruption story: A postman came to deliver a letter to my household and the momemt he put the letter in the mailbox, he peed himself and then died in his own puddle. This honestly sounds so absurd, but I think it was because of some magical book mod or something that I had in my game initially which could kill sims you wanted. I had it kill some random sims before for some reason, without me even using it. Not sure why the postman had to pee himself before dying though.
I love hearing about other people's corruption stories, too, and I'm glad you found my story interesting enough to include! My name pronunciation throws a lot of people off; it's a Welsh name and is pronounced 'Kerry,' as it's just a Welsh variant of that name. A teacher pronounced my name as 'Cherry' once, it made the entire class laugh 😂 As for more corruption stories... I have a few I'll share here. I had David Ottomas marry a Social Class Townie called Lyndsey, or something (she had the Asian template with a long pink dress). With her being a townie, she had no family. I checked her family tree after a few days to see that she had a parent in her family tree somehow... who was this parent? A puppy called Scout! I laughed for a couple of minutes. I had never played the tutorial family before, so I began playing them after being curious about them. After the birth of their third child, Tutorial Jane wanted to give the baby to the bathtub. I had a teenage girl tending to the bar at an owned business lot Downtown. This girl was a playable sim, so when I got round to playing her household, I was in for a shock. I looked through her memories, as I like doing that, and saw that she had a memory of meeting herself. Not only that, but she also had a memory of meeting Mrs. CrumpleBottom... fortunately, my objects.package file is fine and unaltered, but it was odd 😂
I remember when I first installed sims 2 for the first time since I was a kid I tried playing in Strangetown, and I had to reset the neighbourhood 5 times because it would become corrupted insanely fast (and not just a little bit, I would enter a lot one day and sims's wants and fears would completely disappear and stuff) and it completely killed my interest in playing for a good while. But then I learned clean templates exist, I still haven't tried them out but if I ever play in a premade neighbourhood again I definitely will lmao
the way im about to binge watch all of your stuff because i’ve gotten back into ts2 heeeeavy again…. also starting to kind of prefer maxis match cc because it keeps the charm of the game (obviously) and they honestly are the cutest looking sims out of the entire series lol.
I had a butler almost kidnapping a baby. He just took up the baby and left the loft. I ened the game without saving and the baby was still there . But ever since I always watch over my butlers in my hoseholds . 🙄
The last thing that happend to me is when I moved old nbh on a new PC into game one of my many sims there just left a plumbob on it's own lot and stuck as a visitor on anothers, if was invited to party or smth like that. I got read of it tho, this hood still looks ok with no corrupt stuff going on. I just believe it was problem with hard drive sectors on an old PC, had some trouble to backup stuff before it was dead. :c Some of files were eaten mb, or just parts. P.s. it was in the end of 2018 and this save is still fine, if there were corruption it would be unplayable long time ago, i guess P.p.s. more stories :D
people are talking about disappearing children but in my pleasantview jennifer burb literally commited bella goth john and jennifer were supposed to come home from work in the same car but jennifer wouldn't come out. when i forced error she just vanished from the family. she was still in the family tree alive and well so i managed to bring her back using boolprop. but her age went back to the start of young adult?? her temperature was also very high which was weird
Hey Moni, I love your videos, they reignited my love for the sims 2 after a major corruption in my favourite hood. Also, what default hair do you use? I like that texture so much!
This is a story about corruption and incredibly slim chances coming together. My plantsim was looking at clouds - you know, trying to get energy up - and a satellite falls on her. I believe the chances of this happening are 1/24 animation cycles, or 1 %. So extremely unlikely and rare. I sort of panicked as I didn't want this particular sim to die so suddenly, but luckily her wife was an evil witch. So, I resurrected her with a spell and she came back as a plantsim zombie. Not ideal, honestly, but I went with it. And the first thing I did with her after resurrecting her? Well, her energy was sort of low - I made her look at the clouds. Here's where corruption stepped in, or that's what I think happened because this shouldn't have been possible. She is crushed by a satellite AGAIN - the chances of that happening is astronomically small - and she died despite being a zombie and immortal. Absolutely shocked, I figured that there might be something wrong with this sim and I decided to let her rest in peace. I don't use mods/CC and I'm quite conservative with cheats as well, but I had been playing this custom neighbourhood for several generations so it's inevitable that something goes awry. I'm still playing the same neighbourhood though, about 5 generations later, and so far this is the only major issue I have had.
ok this happened on the sims mobile for some reason i had my sims have a lot of kids for example when ever a baby aged up to a toddler i would have another baby always my sims had just had the 15 baby i had just unlocked the third sim so i added one of the kids to be the third sim but his photo was a black square i exited the game came back and all my progress was gone i was so sad i stared to cry anyway i never played the sims mobile again one becuse the game was so long it took forever to get to where I was two i was afraid of this happening again that was a year ago anyway this is what happened I don't if it counts but yeah
I don't know if this is supposed to count as a corruption, but I will leave my story here too. 2 months ago, I met the strangest situation in sims 4. Okay, so one of my families had a baby and I decided to age him up (I have a whole neighborhood and I used the same method all over again). So I aged him up and then something happened. The toddler couldn't do anything; couldn't interact with anyone and anything. And yes, I visited another lot and came back home again but still nothing. I decided to cheat and so i tried changing him into cas, thinking this might be a solution. Nothing. Then I tried changing his age with MC Command Center, but still nothing. I deleted the baby and that was it... And no, I had no mods related to babies/toddlers or something. Edit: I love Kamisama Hajimemashita! 💖 I restarted it yesterday... ✌
No, using "Delete" in the error message is totally fine. It doesn't totally delete the sim, it only removes it from the lot. You might have to restore the family if you delete a sim from the family you're currently playing. But other than that, that's fine. Edit: I also had a story about corruption. One of my sims, Jazz Care, was trying every day to bring back the social bunny from work. Obviously, she was the only one stepping out of her car. But she had a relationship with that bunny. But worse than that, every night the bunny called to ask her to come downtown. I knew it could mess up my game but, at some point, I agreed. I was curious. She took a cab, and again she was the only one to step out of the taxi. She came home and a few days later, I cleared gossip "from all", killed her in a fire, and put her grave in the community graveyard where hopefully she won't spread corruption. I also used hoodchecker. I'm still using the same neighborhood, it was a few rounds ago and there aren't any other signs of corruption in that neighborhood.
I love these corruption stories so much, it's so interesting in how many different ways the game tells you that it's broken xD I first played Sims 2 when I was like 6 years old and of course I didn't know about corruption back then and did almost all of the things that could corrupt the game. Fortunately, it never became really unplayable. The only thing that happened was in a family, two children grew up to teenagers while a nanny were with them. And she didn't leave, instead a pop-up kept popping up where the nanny said there were no kids on the lot. I couldn't fire her either. And after I discovered cheats I messed my whole game up because I still didn't know about corruption and did things like adding the Grim Reaper to my family etc. And that totally broke my game, in the end I wasn't even able to load any neighborhood because it crashed everytime when I tried to load it. So, now I know already about corruption but I have to admit that I'm very careless sometimes and did a few things that can cause corruption in my current game and a few things became weird already. Whenever a Sim is afraid of still being unmarried as an elder, the fears say "" and the description also just says "", even though my game is actually is in German. And one time a toddler began to float everytime he danced to the radio (that was also really funny, I think I even recorded that) and after that two gravestones just disappeared. But the most interesting thing is what happened to Mortimer. I have the Story Progression Mod and while I was playing my main family, he moved to the Caliente household and after a while, he died. But when I clicked on the lot, Mortimer still showed up in the family preview. With the Story Progression mod, it's normal for the family thumbnail to change only when you play the family, then save and then go back to the neighborhood screen, but the family preview is usually updated immediately. So I decided to check the family but there was no Mortimer. There wasn't even his grave. And even according to SimPe, Mortimer still live in that household, but he has no memories, no relationships, no likes and no dislikes. And it says that he's a ghost. I really wonder what happened there, that never happened again. And also, I find that quite scary because you could say, that Mortimer didn't die, but he disappeared, like his wife Bella. And that happened in the Caliente household and I when I remember correctly the Caliente sisters also had something to do with Bella's disappearance. Really weird, even though it's just corruption or a glitch, it's a scary coincidence. Well, I'm sorry for this long comment, I actually didn't mean to write that much ^^ (And also sorry for my bad english.)
Nice video I have some photos of courption that a took a while ago I can send them to you over discord if you want? (With context of what's happening to)
Daniel Pleasent was failing so hard that they had to get some back up.
This comment 😂👏🏻
given the fact that the social worker can be picked from the match maker i wouldn't ever do that again, also is there like a secret underground base for the 100 or so workers, or did they all hit the gas immediately when they saw him failing and came from the whole state
I have the opposite of a corruption story.
One word, Monday 🤫👀
That first one is just not right...But this game screws itself over lol
I also have a horror story from sims 3
So, I borrowed sims 3 base game and ambitions EP to my friend, and we were sitting in their room and playing; using cheats, buying bunch of stupid and unnecessary items etc.
And we had used the code to get acces to buydebug mode, so we can buy more weird stuff for our sims
My friend thought it would be great to buy a lot of ghosts closed in glass containers, you can get them normally while working as a ghost hunter, and you can also open the glass container and set the ghost free
And we did freed all the ghosts, about 20 i think, and suddenly the game has crashed, understandable - it's sims 3
At the time I think my friend had some dog pic set as a desktop backgroud, black and white fuzzy puppy or something like that
And after the crash this dog picture wasn't black and white anymore, instead it was bright pink and neon yellow
We were about 10-12 yo, so you can imagine how shocked and panicked we were in that moment, we thought the ghosts took control on the computer and were mad at us
Lol xD
Fun corruption story that was completely my fault:
I have the UC and the original game disk with all expansions except FreeTime.
Wild.
I think he’d be in the baby adoption pool and also I believe that babies in ts2 can’t die even if there was no social worker.
@@Grimonvacation I thought he'd be there too, but (just remmebred) I tried to adopt a baby with another family and he didn't show up
Try and see if he might come up in pet adoption, it’s a big possibility if he’s got missing or shredded data 🤔
@@chkris6889 Aye let me know what you find! 🙌🏻
I find it ironic that the last commenter was trying to get bugs and ended up getting bugs.
Well I guess I learned my lesson that day
@@dwarfest Lmao! I'm glad your game is fine now.
I get that you wanted to get rid of PT tho, he's not cute.
Are you using the multiple PT mod?
I have a Sims 4 glitch. So when a toddler in the household I was playing on aged up, the child still had the communication skill, as well as the other child skills. Whenever I would reset the child, it would play the baby aging up into a toddler animation, which made the ankles on the child break off of its feet. Luckily I was able to fix this by going in and out of CAS mode, but I found it creepy.
my game was corrupted. i had barely started playing and the offending cc was a kylie jenner lip kit.
This video was so nice to listen to in the background :D It's always so interesting to listen to other peoples' sims stories
the stealing babies thing happened to me in sims 3 too. i killed my sims' wife by dragging her hunger bar all the way down and when she died, she was holding their child and disappeared with it (the kid was no longer in the family or anything). i have no idea how that even happened 😭
"if you dont want me, you wont get the child either" OR "you killed me? You kill the child too"
Omg my corruption/glitch story appeared on here! I’m so surprised 😳
Thankfully when I played the ottomas family, I didn’t play in one sitting....I played them for a long while (I played sims 2 from the moment I woke up, til I went to bed at the time I started destroying the ottomas family) & then after like a month of not playing....the game just erased my progress which is sad but I guess the game was telling me “don’t give your sims so many kids” 😂
You still deserve an award for that 😂
The gardener thing happened to me too in Olive Specter’s household.
I'm a bit late to the party, but here's a story that's happening with me in my game right now:
So, I've been playing The Sims 2 for years, when I was a dumb kid, I used to delete sims the worst ways, mess up with cheats and accidentally do other things that could corrupt the game.
The icons were invisible and the wishes were always like "buy ",
I thought that happened because of the very old objects CC I had that probably would be glitchy, so I didn't care much (for some reason).
After a time, I decided to save the game and I just realized the flashing-body glitch crashed my game completely :(
Thanks god I had a recent save before that happening and that didn't happen again, but I have a feeling my game is corrupted.
It's kinda spooky.
i think running hood checker could help
@@xMarvin732 Thanks! I'll try it
@@dreamielynn1264 If that fails, it doesn't hurt to remove her with moveobjects.
@@ceriwilson3143 I can't even click on her to remove her. Also I reset that neighborhood anyway
One time the dad of one of my families in sims 3 was holding their baby when a fire started, then he was on fire and I couldn’t put it out cause he never let go of that damn baby to go to the shower!! He couldn’t move and wouldn’t let go of the baby no matter what I tried so he died 😩
I didn’t know how to reset sims at the time 🫠
I remember one time I was playing university and my sim went to class and never came home.
(She went into the pool and drowned without me noticing)
I moved the grave to a place in the garden and continued playing but I was very sad.
Rip
I tried all of the following:
Restarting the game, Resetting my sim, deleting my sim, and aging the sim.
@@Grimonvacation ok thanks
The first story also happened to me lol but I didn't add 5 burglars, I think it happened because I installed SimPE and I didn't know how to use it bc english is not my first language and I was a kid, I didn't understand what I was doing, then when I entered my game every sim was t-posing and blue, I just reinstalled my game :(
Ooh, I see. I’ve heard of people messing around in sim PE and accidentally doing something, even without knowing until they see the effects of it in their game.
here’s my little corruption story:
i played the Sims 2 yesterday and i downloaded the Story Progression mod and i was playing rotationnally.

A teacher pronounced my name as 'Cherry' once, it made the entire class laugh 😂
As for more corruption stories...
Sorry I’m American and we can’t read foreign names right 😭 I’ll remember the proper pronunciation though, thanks for clarifying.
Okay that's like 12 years ago so I can't remember the details but I played so much with testingcheats around that the game wouldn't open anymore.
P.s. it was in the end of 2018 and this save is still fine, if there were corruption it would be unplayable long time ago, i guess
P.p.s. more stories :D
people are talking about disappearing children but in my pleasantview jennifer burb literally commited bella goth
john and jennifer were supposed to come home from work in the same car but jennifer wouldn't come out. when i forced error she just vanished from the family. she was still in the family tree alive and well so i managed to bring her back using boolprop. but her age went back to the start of young adult?? her temperature was also very high which was weird
Yo she really did pull a Bella Goth 😂 Crazy!
Hey Moni, I love your videos, they reignited my love for the sims 2 after a major corruption in my favourite hood. Also, what default hair do you use? I like that texture so much!
Thanks! 💛 I don’t remember where I got my cc since I’ve had them for a long time now and I haven’t downloaded any new mods or cc since 🥺
The person who made the curious bros flirt with each other is chaotic evil
Agreed 😂
I'm still playing the same neighbourhood though, about 5 generations later, and so far this is the only major issue I have had.
ok this happened on the sims mobile for some reason i had my sims have a lot of kids for example when ever a baby aged up to a toddler i would have another baby always my sims had just had the 15 baby i had just unlocked the third sim so i added one of the kids to be the third sim but his photo was a black square i exited the game came back and all my progress was gone i was so sad i stared to cry anyway i never played the sims mobile again one becuse the game was so long it took forever to get to where I was two i was afraid of this happening again that was a year ago anyway this is what happened I don't if it counts but yeah
the frozen face syndrome thing happens to my sim all the time
I don't know if this is supposed to count as a corruption, but I will leave my story here too.
Kamisama hajimemashita goals yessss
I love these corruption stories so much, it's so interesting in how many different ways the game tells you that it's broken xD
I first played Sims 2 when I was like 6 years old and of course I didn't know about corruption back then and did almost all of the things that could corrupt the game.
(With context of what's happening to)
Yes please do!
@@Grimonvacation k I'll be a sec
I wonder how Ppl’s games be breaking so bad lol
Loving these ❤️
Some of these sound super fake.
Which ones? Corruption can completely make ur game unplayable and act very strangely. In sims 3 my sims got stuck in the future.
thank you for reading my comment
It’s alright, thank you for sharing in the comments! 💛
