In the era of AI-generated art... We need to give greater freedom to artists for pieces like this.

I hate that AI is replacing artists. I was finally getting used to the digitized art but AI is a step too far.

It's really sad looking at modern card art. The artists are so skilled but the space most of them are allowed to work in is so narrow. Don't get me wrong, there's still good art, but the consistency overall makes the art so much less compelling piece by piece.
I remember when wotc dropped their restriction on digital art, and at the time I was all for it as a key indicator of progress, but I wonder now if it was a part of a larger trend towards centralising creativity in a way that inevitably will lead to AI mush becoming the standard.

I hate the homogeneity of modern art. I love how you could tell a Pete Venters piece from a Kev Walker piece. Now I couldn’t name a modern magic Artist.
