I always preferred the variation: "Buy nice or buy twice."
This made my day haha. Why not both right.
One is none ...two is one. Always buy whats good twice.
Buy once, cry once. Buy cheap, buy again next week.
Here, we say: I'm too poor to by cheap. ;)
The new phrase for ammo buying.. buy once cry once!!
My soul hurts every time I buy ammo now . That is when I do....
But you shoot ammo and it's forever gone lol you have to hold onto the brass to even hope to have something to show for it
@T G 22 is now at pre covid 9mm prices 😳 glad I grabbed a bunch when I did. Wish I stocked up on primers though
Isnt it "All that glitters is NOT gold"?
The most anti 2a bills in the last 50 years passed in the house and no one is up in arms. The 1.9 trillion spending bill passed. They have the political capital to push these through. What ia going on?!
Up in arms if they nuke the filibuster. That would be absolute BS, they used the filibuster when they were the minority. It's needed to keep balance of power.

Tuning in from the hills and hollers of East Tennessee! 👋🏻 My philosophy on buying firearms and accessories tends to be quality over quantity. I buy once or twice and cry not so much. That equals I’m extremely happy and confident with my tools and gear. 👍🏻💪🏻👊🏻
One thing to keep in mind is quality doesn’t always mean expensive...

“Cheap things are seldom good; good things are seldom cheap” is the Maxim that I always say.
My buddy herk always said: cheap red dots arnt good and good red dots arnt cheap.
"All that glitters is not gold" is an aphorism stating that not everything that looks precious or true turns out to be so.
While early expressions of the idea are known from at least the 12th-13th century, the current saying is derived from a 16th-century line by William Shakespeare, "All that glisters is not gold".
Seagull S6 acoustic guitar... Bought off Craig's list: $250 plus hard case... Hadn't been played in 20 years. In closet IN case -- TWENTY years... What a score!

It's actually 'glisters' not 'glitters' :) :)

Been watching you guys for about a year solid everyday I’ve watched for many years but never studied your stuff keep up the amazing work guys
I just bought a Mossberg 500 in February. Waiting on a tactical barrel to come in the mail so I can take it out and shoot it. Looking forward to buying a Glock 19 or something similar in the future too!!! Whoop Whoop 🙌
Shoulda just got a Remington 870 Tactical, that's what I did anyway. Mossbergs feel thin & cheap compared to Remingtons
That mossy will solve any problem on any continent, with the right ammo. Rugged and reliable. The slide release is on the right, for a righty, unlike the awkward left handed release of the heavier, more expensive 870. 870 is a good gun, but the 500 just works for me.
Release is accessible from the right*
Buy once cry once is applicable to certain things but I wouldn’t apply that to everything sold.
My EDC pistol has a red dot optic and a flaslight because im uber tactical
Do you actually carry with a red dot or just being a smartass?
@@Sheridantank Hes has to be a smartass. No one carries a red dot on their handgun.

I think it's only practical if you open carry, which I prefer and reccomend. Concealed carry is a compromise.
@@johnnyringo2670 didn’t the dude on the right just show an edc with a holosun red dot on it? I might have misheard him. Thought he did.
Yeah.,I work on 6 figure German cars for a living, they haven't gotten any more reliable. You can't leave them sitting for more than 2 weeks without something acting stupid when you go to drive them again. They are the most ultra sensitive non robust pieces of machinery in existence. Except the military version of the Gelandewagen.but they're all way too pricey to purchase and maintain.
Give me a Honda or Toyota any day over a German automobile.
German engineering has a reputation that’s largely undeserved imho.
Reminds me of Bell and Howell used to make quality video items then they sold their name and have nothing but junk now.
Tim from Mac also did that with the mpx with water in the barrel , basically hydro locking the gas block

It's funny my brother was very anti gun right until the pandemic now hes been binge buying guns and gear like holsters etc. I've been telling him to buy once cry once but unfortunately that's a lesson we all have to learn the hard way.
Companies should welcome the criticism/feedback on their product. To me that makes a company either standout or shows that they don’t value their customers.
I have never wished my g19 had a different trigger, stippling or lightning cuts. And never would any of those ever have made me shoot any better. And if they do one would be benefited more by spending the extra grand on ammo or training. Just an opinion though. I don’t hate the guys that like that stuff. It’s what makes guns great but still some truth to the concept of the video.
Seriously this is crazy they immediately start talking about Zev no one needs a zev it does nothing to improve the quality of the pistol its just a ridiculously customized base gun and honestly if anything the reliability will be less then factory depending on what parts are replaced
Buck knives is a great company, will sharpen and fix their knives for free even if you bought it at a garage sale for $2
S&W Performance Center or Pro Series guns are really great values. Better sights, ported barrel, trigger job - all from a factory gun that costs $250 more than the base model but has 'upgrades' that would cost $800 or more to do the base model. Bonus - if you ever have to use it defensively, the overzealous DA cannot claim that you put in a 'hair trigger' or modified your gun to be more deadly than it came from the factory.
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.
~JRR Tolkien. In reference to Eric’s all that glitters is not gold reference 😂😂
Bingo !
( they just need one more “person” )
Simply hilarious to watch. Mostly simple.
Thinking of checking out Moss soon. I know the stock has to be low now. Wonder which days are best to come in?
Buy once cry once.... my timex tells times just fine.. takes a lickin'... $11,000.00 for a watch is quite ridiculous. I guess im just poor..
I've always gone with the philosophy that
"the best gun is the one in you have in your hands"
Meaning that you may have to make do with what you have. Your old hunting rifle may not be the most 'tacticool' firearm for home defense, but it sure beats the heck out of using your fists. If you're buying a gun, still go for the best you can, but within what's affordable to you. A Hi-Point may not be the highest quality, but if that's what you can afford, then make the best of your situation. In the situation of a modular firearm, purchasing a cheap one and then slowly upgrading it piece by piece would be a better option, instead of waiting the extra time unarmed and buying a gucci rifle after saving. Plus with this method you would know your rifle like the back of your hand, and not be afraid/hesitant to use it to its full extent (roughly), which could be a problem if you have a high-tier rifle.
Oooh , I haven't watched in while and look at all this fancy equipment!
Hey you guys should do some night vision and IR laser reviews... so I know what to buy once and cry once.
In a true life at peril situation where do the majority stand ? For example a single Daniel Defense AR versus a couple of Aero precision rifles for a similar price? Where is the best balance? 2 is 1 versus higher quality? Opinions?
Buying nice doesn't have to cost twice as much either..M&P 15 sport is a great example.
I haven't really wanted another piece since I bought my CZ TS2 in February. It's been almost a year and it's still my favorite piece I've ever shot.
The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten ;7)
I'd rather buy where quality and price intersect. Some things may be excellent quality, but are enormously overpriced. Then I try to find a deal on that particular item, or buy used.
Love the Gary Moore T-shirt. One of the most under-rated guitarists ever with the most 'infectious grooves' of all time.
My friend, he purchased a brand new Mercedes truck and when we were going down to turnpike smoke just started coming up out the hood and at the side, man that car caught fire on us we had to go back to the deal of the curse's ass out and getting you on but we got a Lexus
When I hear Rolex, I think Swiss and when I think Swiss...I think the SiG SG 550 series!
I get your price point though...
I've been a gunsmith for 20 yrs and i only carry i gun and thats been the colt 1911 that i have built

I'm gonna say buy stock Glock and actually learn how to shoot it. Don't try to impress other tactical elitists
That, and stock Glocks just work. The "Glocks" that typically have issues are the ones that have been monkeyed with. Basic is often better.
@@maverickpaladin4155 yeah but the grip angle is aids
@@maverickpaladin4155 I would upgrade the guide rod to a steel one if the current one is plastic. That's the only upgrade I recommend. Sights are just preference
@@reganronald8328 lol...so buy a different gun. That's a question of personal fit. Besides, the Gen 4 Glocks came with various back straps to modify the grip angle. I carried a 19 for years. It wasn't my favorite pistol, but it never once failed to function. To me, that's more important than a personalized fit.
@@NoNo_IStay I hadn't thought about the guide rod. I know the sights are plastic and thus likely to chip or break I hard use. The sight picture doesn't bother me...find the front sight, press the trigger...wash, rinse, repeat.

Or follow the wisdom of "Buy Smart"
Buy once cry once does require some context. Having quality equipment is always a plus, but the quality of gear is only realized with a competent user. It goes back to, “It’s the Indian, not the arrow”
nice job on the video!!!
Just wondering what the 88 88 stands for?
Dale Junior
This makes sense for a person collection but I don’t think it’s wise to spend much more than $500 for a concealed carry weapon - not saying to get something “cheap”- as you can get a reliable quality handgun for the $500-$700 range but you’re going to lose that weapon if you ever have to use it in a defensive situation. Yes, it’s possible to get the firearm back and yes technically you’re supposed to be able to get it back if it’s determined that you did everything “correct” and it was definitively a self defense situation but these days it seems like that’s rare due to the hurdles they put in place to be able to get the weapon back …..your lawyer fees will go up and even if you do manage to get it back, it’s going to take quite of a bit of time. Because of this I think it’s better that a persons every day carry weapon should be something low cost, very generic, reliable but otherwise unremarkable….and then If you ever have to use it you can afford for it to be sacrificed to the evidence locker gods.
any plans to review the s&w 5946?
H&K comes to mind. Great guns, they work but H&K treats the civilian market like shit. LEO and Military contracts get the red carpet. It's actually been enough for me to not care if I own any H&K's.

Same goes for guitars as guns. My first guitar was an awful Series 10. My 2nd was a new 1997 Gibson SG standard. Played the junk until I could afford what I wanted. I buy guns the same way even though not everything I want in firearms is expensive.
Awesome
Buy a Ruger LCP 380 MAX for EDC with pocket holster. Get a Tavor 7 308 with a LPV Leopold or Vortex scope on quick detach mounts, iron sights and a sling for a battle rifle. Many times have I spent for "quality" only to be disappointed. My swiss watch sucks, my wife's Vuitton handbags are junk. My PSA AR is great. Disappointed with quality of my father in laws Mercedes. A buddy with a Daniel defense always has issues. Buying an expensive brand name is no guarantee of quality. I usually buy entry level and see if it's reliable. If it is, I'm good.

Buy things at a price that is an investment. So you can sell them at any time and either break even or make a profit. Then you truly get to own things and use them for free.
Zev? Seriously? Buying quality and buying a fking Zev is a big gap. Oh and a holoson on a zev? Aight

The theme of this video seems to be: Stop being poor.
I use my gear and tend to be rough on it. This "buy once cry once" only works if you dont have issues with your product or have buyers remorse. We are looking at you SIG! I used to agree with purchasing "high end gear" until most "high end manufacturers" started to falter in Q.C. and competitive pricing.
As for the watch comparison, please consider this perspective. Having an 8800 dollar Rolex is super cool, but breaking one in field is not. I own a vintage Rolex from Grandpa. I have never worn it. I own multiple seikos, vostoks, casios, citizen, etc. And none of them are over 1000 dollars. My favorite is are the digital casios. They are cheap, and if I break it I'm not out 8000 dollars.
I also dont recommend wearing an 8000 dollar watch somewhere you dont know, especially out of country! You have a good point that you can trade it, but you are also putting a target on your wrist for thieves... just saying...
I swear by my TAURUS G3C! I have expelled About 1,000 rounds without a single issue!!!!
