Does anyone else think they tried to make a tune at 2:49 with the engine sound??? I really am not a fan of Toyota/Lexus but I am somehow loving this weird design. I think it will set a new trend and we'll all just warm up to it. Remember the E60 5 series when it first came out??? Look at it now and see how much respect it received.

I love it when people negatively comment on cars in which a. they've never driven (and probably never will) b. they have no such kind of engineering credentials and yet still feel compelled to elaborate on engine/speed specs. My theory is that these people are aware that they will never drive a car of this calliber and therefore displace their resentment onto what is ultimately the object of their desire. Great job Lexus!
The sound and looks of this car...omg makes the hair on my neck and arms raise up and get that awesome feeling inside... Beautiful piece of machinery. Lexus/Toyota puts pride in their work, and it definately pays off. I love my SC400. But for the LF-A I would do anything just to drive it once...

You do realize that those time are always underrated. Lexus claimed that the ISF does 0-60 in 4.8 sec but car and driver did it in 4.2. I can only imagine what the LFA will do. Probably 3.2-3.3 sec

honestly, even at a third of the price the gtr v-spec aint got nothin on this. if you dont watch the video it legitimately sounds like a v10-era f1 car. so i guess toyota learned something from its time in f1...it deserves to be applauded.
well a lot of people seem to be in love with this car and disappointed that only 500 will be made. but at the same time, they can't afford it anyway. and Lexus can't afford to make more than 500 if they will lose money on each of them. so bottom line, those 500 folks are some of the luckiest in the world because this beast will be rare. forever known as Lexus first supercar and so a legend in the making.
Normal people will know the difference because they do not know that Lexus is just an upmarket brand of Toyota aimed at the North American market. The RX SUV is a Toyota Harrier in Japan,the LS series is the Toyota Celsior,the IS series is the Toyota Altezza,GS being the Toyota Aristo and so on and so forth. The Lexus cars obviously look classier and higher grade material are used in the interior to compete with the Mercs and Beemers,but underneath all the posh,it's the good ol' sturdy Toyota.
I read over the Internet that Lexus is announcing a Tokyo edition LFA at Tokyo auto show 2011 I don't know if it's only selling in Japan or worldwide and it sounds like they are making extra LFAs
for those who want one, Lexus is using this car as an experiment. no other car company cares more about consumer taste than Lexus. I'm sure they're considering building another sports car for the masses, perhaps V-8, close to being as quick and powerful. but with same handling trait. not as exotic but more affordable. this is just a begining.
I think Lexus has to start somewhere and this car moves them right up there with the likes of Ferrari Porsche Lambo/Audi and the rest of the sportscar elite remember this is Toyota's first shot at making a high spec vehichle and it proves it can foot it with the sportscar elite and all this at there first attempt I think this car is a benchmark car for Toyota and will leave a positive point in the sports car community.

no it's not the fastest. but the way it handles around the turns boggles the mind. no slipping and sliding. always in control. gives its driver confidence to go fast. racing pedigree. and the sound, omg, almost like Nascar.
they can't have one now but Lexus is a type of company that will offer a cheaper version to the mass, not this exotic, but sport cars people can afford and be proud to own. Ferrari, Lambo, etc on the other hand always want to keep their cars expensive, selling their prestige, most people can only dream but never could afford them.

A professional who drove this car can tell me how it is. No need for the peanut crunching crowd who can't get int the driver's seat. The video is well choreographed. The sound of the car is enough to get a hard on. Can't believe Lexus has gone this far. This may be it. Only time can tell whether or not the same reliability and attention went into this car. The gawk factor is high irrespective what badge this car wears. The sound, sculpture, and the speed will awe.
That is the best sounding production engine I have ever heard. Sure, I may have a home made vehicle that can match it in accelaration. But Ill never be able to reproduce that sound.
I am sure that the old man 0:48 is Hiroshi Naruse(成瀬弘) who is a legendary Toyota's test driver. I hear he test-drove Toyota 2000GT which was legendary Japanese sports car.
I'm not talking about this car but something totally different and more affordable for the masses, perhaps a newly designed supra but with world class handling. it will appeal to people who want this car but can't afford it.
simple reasons why it costs so much 1. they didnt have a clear vision when they started, 1st is was an FR layout, then MR, then FR again, they even tried a convertible 2. was aluminium at 1st , then carbon fibre 3. end result is essentially a front engine rear wheel drive car with a mid engine body, cost of both platform 4. each 1 sold must support its costs, these are hard times and toyota doesn't want any more losses
ISF is a great handling car but there's still some body roll. with the LFA Lexus shows that they can produce super cars that can compete with the top guns.
