FULL TRANSPARENCY - I personally use their site off camera for myself anyway, and I am very fond of their website. I reached out to them to see if I could do another video with them, and unfortunatly with whats going on in the world, they were unable to pay the same amount as the last videos I have done with them. But I really like their website and I love GameBoys. So even though this was 1/4 of the amount they previously have provided, I was more than happy to talk about their site in another video.

Fun Fact: If you shine a UV flashlight into a GameBoy that previously had stickers on it, you can see them

That cling wrap is actually incredibly strong when layered. They use it as palate wraps in shipping containers, it's a great way to keep heavy hard items from shifting.
I have one of the display game boys that has a sticker on saying those unit will not work when separated from the display” which of course wasn’t true but was to deter thieves. My mum worked there and she got to take it home when they switched the displays one day.
So chill about the leaked battery acid. Yikes.

One of my first projects was a Midnight Blue GBA from Japan 4 U and I absolutely love it. It works pretty well, still could use a little TLC but it is a very pretty color
When I got the notification I thought I'd see the horror of the double screen GBA SP.
What would you call it? GBA DSP??

This really takes me back. My first Gameboy was the atomic purple transparent Gameboy Color (the first videogame console ever) that my grandma got me for my 10th birthday like 17 or so years ago.
Watching a video of a person unboxing a ton of Gameboys from Japan is so satisfying.

I've seen people pop up from the bottom of the screen for an intro, and occasionally fall from the top, but I've never seen someone rotate a 90° angle at the start of a video.

I just won on Ebay a gameboy color lot, green gameboy with carrying case. And 9 games all with manuals. Including Pokemon gold (worth 20 by itself but 30 with manual) . All for $55 shipped. Everything worked when arrived, I was stoked!

Just recently got my Gameboy from Sendico, what a great website
So I have binged watched most of your videos and signed up for Sendico using your link from your last video.... I now have 11 gameboys (a combination of pockets, colors, and dmgs) coming to me for an incredible price! I've never done and tinkering before but really excited for Retro Modding to start shipping stuff again so I can work on my new hobby! Thanks for all the great information!
Did you find them by just scrolling or did you use keywords?
@@KC15339 I search gameboy dmg, gameboy color, gameboy pocket etc. Also gameboy console would come up with good results. Once you find a good listing, they also have recommended listings as well which is how I more systems.

Some days ago I've found my old gameboy and it has a ugly batteries leakage and it was worse than the green one you have, but, somehow, my gameboy turned on and it was magic
Mine was so bad that one of the battery contacts fell off of the board!
My car has a battery leakage and its still working

Oh that midnight blue translucent colour is gorgeous! Wish they made more things that colour. As much as I like atomic purple, the saturation in the midnight blue is so much nicer to my eyes. 😍

Saitama Seibu Lions is a baseball team of course, and their mascot used to be Kimba from Kimba the White Lion. In Japan it's common for characters from anime/cartoons to become mascots. There's even a baseball team whose mascot is Snoopy!
There's lots of discourse whether Lion King is plagiarism or not but still interesting nonetheless. Also that gameboy has a Tamagotchi Angel sticker on its back!
The Kimba thing is actually a combination of misconception as well as people cherry picking. Adam from YMS made a great video on the subject. It's incredibly long, but it is incredibly informative.

i just ordered a big bundle box like this from japan and its got a bunch of Gameboy colors, but i mainly bought it because there was the astroboy Gameboy light inside! (sadly without a battery cover)

I have the Seibu Lions one! Came in a little drawstring pouch with the same branding. Interestingly, the screen was bad on mine as well (the typical 'burned' look).
My two boys, 7 & 9 loved seeing the Kirby on the GB and then hearing you talk about “Something Else YT”. 😁
I once heard that every shipment from Japan includes these candies for the customer to know if something went wrong with their order. Like, if the candy melted, it means your package could have been stored in a place under possibily harmful temperatures, or something like that.
Could be that service in specific, cause I never get any when I order from eBay auctions...

if there is one thing i love, its buying something complete, especially used games because finding a 20 year old game in its original box complete with original everything is just a real treat to me, especially if the price is super good.

Saitama-Seibu Lions. The mascot picture is named Leo, known for a very energetic dance routine and regularly can do backflips and neat stuff like that in routines. He has a sister or a cousin, I believe, called Leina (I forget if that's her name) and they at one point were tourism ambassadors for Saitama. There's also a Honda manufacturing plant there

I got a standard green Gb pocket for free and it came with duracel 'power check' batteries in it that said best if installed by 2003!! I was a bit disapointed thinking it would not work and put a new pair in and boom it worked lol it came with pokemon red, Gamboy printer and the camara with its manual. Saddly no boxes

Hey, I've been loving watching your videos, very cool inspiring stuff.
I've seen a few videos where I'm just wondering why are you not using some (maybe) latex gloves? I think it would have helped you out with those nasty batteries (and in past videos with the game boy backlight screen to not leave fingerprints - it's just a suggestion, you probably can get them cheap and fast at Halfords.
Those screens with absolutely busted polarizers are the best candidates to backlight mod, nothing to worry about removing a good polarizer since it's dead after all.
The GBCs have only one polarizer on front with a quarter wave retarder stuck on it too, just like the original GBA and AGS-001 GBA SP too, you can repair any those screens with a circular polarizer (circular being in reference to the light polarization, not format).
By the way, funny enough, shipping from Japan to Brazil is usually the cheapest along with China because of e-packet (that's tracked on top of that), and things go really crazy expensive if you want tracked packets from anywhere else in the world.

If one were to paint a gameboy/game controller what would be the best paint to use without having to worry about the paint rubbing off?
I have had success neutralizing battery acid with white or apple cider vinegar; it removes corrosion, too. Might be an interesting test on something already very far gone.

I recently bought a Nintendo switch and whenever I put it on sleep mode 3 seconds after a subtle short vibration comes from the switch itself and then after that it randomly does short vibrations and i can feel it when I put my hand over the console, sometimes they’re loud to hear! What can this be from? Is it bad??

Man, that battery acid hurts the soul. Currently waiting on supplies to fix my Neo Geo Pocket Color that my young self stored with batteries. You know how that ended... IPA is sold out everywhere (or selling 100ml for what a 1L costs aka not for my wallet) so I guess it'll have to wait even longer.. Excited though, it's my only "retro" console that I had as a kid!
