Being not Italian and specifically not a Roman, you did an outstanding job. Lazio fans in Rome are mostly radicated in the upper class areas, while Roma fans are mostly to be found in lower class areas. Roma fans outnumber Lazio fans, that is true, but the majority of Roma fans just support the team to feel part of the majority. A Lazio fan picks Lazio because he (normally) truly embraces its traditions and identity. You said it too after all, the very first team ever founded in Rome was Lazio and not Roma, who just tried to convince Lazio to be part of them. It is an historical facy that Lazio refused Roma. Lazio fans are amongst the most feared and specifically, creative fans in the world. They created some of the most incredible "coreografie", which is the reason why I became a Lazio fan. Roma fans were never able to live up to the Lazio standards. I still remember a derby when Roma fans weren't even able to unroll their banner. That is something very embarassing for any ultras crew. When you go to Rome you seem to find a large majority of Roma fans around. Roma started a very efficinet marketing plan, opening stores all over the city. Lazio is way behind on that aspect, but there are plenty of Lazio fans all around the city. Lastly, the most important derby ever was played on May 26th, 2013. Coppa Italia final was Lazio vs Roma. That was the final derby, the only derby in history that assigned a trophy. Lazio won that derby and that will be forever something that will hunt Roma's fan dreams. Media in Rome are super supportive for Roma and try to belittle Lazio all the times. Lazio is the real, proud football representative of the city of Rome.
Hahaha please...!! Ok, you're laziale, so you're biased, and I'm romanista so i am too. But claiming that lazio is better at choreographies is pathetic, and so easily verified. The whole world knows about curva sud, all they know about the curva nord are the fascist salutes...
stefano paris Why do you lazio supporters always have to be such crybabies, nobody is trying to belittle you, and nobody puts Roma on a pedestal. The media treats the Capitals teams as what they are, average teams that achieve something sporadically, once in a while.

Hey in the recent years i have started to see what a wonderful team Lazio is, hell i could even call it my favorite European team, not because of trophies and shit like that, but because of unyielding spirit and i can't help but notice the similarities between my local team and Lazio. Now see i live in Thessaloniki and there is an intense rivalry over here, Aris vs Paok. I'm an Aris fan. Lots of similarities that i can notice such as: 1.We were the first team founded in the city, with the exception of Iraklis, that team that has not seen good days since the early 80s and spends most of his time, fighting with exctinction, in the lower leagues. 2. Aris just like Lazio has most of its fans in upper class areas and Paok in lower class areas. 3. Paok fans outnumber Aris fans, but the majority of Paok fans just support the team to feel part of the majority and because its trendy. 4. Only a fan who truly comprehends and embraces Aris traditions and identity becomes a fan of our team. 5. Paok has been trying to destroy all other teams in Northern Greece, because they wanted to consume us essentially and they are still trying that. While they didn't officially asked us to join them per se, i see it as kind of a similar situation where we rejected their attempts to dominate us. 6. We have incredable fans too that know how to make our stadium vibrant and create an incredible atmosphere. 7. Paok ultras are cowards and the laughingstock of Greece, they are also very violent, though not at all feared. 8. Media and government are super supportive of Paok and essentially against us. 9. We have the us against everyone mentality more than any other team in Greece.
It's not as it's described... I'm from Rome and I have never seen physical violent. Of course there is competition about who is the best but it's normal. I went to the stadium for the first time on a derby match when I was only 12 years old and nothing happened except for a very good and enjoyable match. Forza Lazio 💙 🇮🇹

I just saw your video about Pjanic`s transfer to Barcelona... Pjanic played for Roma and was loved from Roma fans until one derby match against Lazio! Lazio wins derby 1:0 and scorer was Lulic, Bosnian national player (and one of the captains in Lazio) and good friend from Pjanic... After the match, Pjanic said: the only good thing about this los is for him that the scorer was his friend... Roma fans hated him after this!

justsay no No, Roma encompasses so many supporters that it does not have a specific political connotation, there is a right wing Romanista community a communist community so the Roma Firm does not bring politics in the stadium usually, while Lazio supporters have a strong far right or standard right wing identity.
In the 70's Roma's Ultras were left wing then starting in the 80's right wing fans became more vocal and gradually took over the Ultras not long after that. Now politics are rarely brought up. It is different from Lazio where the"'Irriducibili" because of Mussollini's well known sympathies for Lazio are very right wing and tho they are a minority rule the roost thru intimidation in the Curva Nord (North Side)
Dynamo Kiev has similar problems. The casual fans and the majority of the stadium are normal people. However many of the ultras are racist, violent fascists. Though, Dynamo doesn't compare to the extremism of Karpaty Lviv. They are one of the worst in Europe.

Neither club can be proud of the fascists among their "supporters". Like many fascists, they are also cowards of the worst kind who act "bravely" when they have knives in their hands. If they were stripped of their weapons, the only activity they would excel at would be running away from anyone who stood up to them. Their fellow citizens MUST be ashamed of the pondlife who dwell amongst them. Thousands of brave allied armed forces as well as true Italian patriots fought and some sacrificed their lives to free Italy from the evils of fascism. These so-called "ultras" stain the good name of Italian sport and sportsmanship and the sooner both clubs ban them all; the better. Viva Roma!
Can you research Glasgow Celtic & Rangers fierce rivalry please. Rangers recently went bust and re-emerging after rebuilding being thrown out of the league and Aberdeen became their fierce rivals. This would be most interesting to me because I am Scottish and I believe the Scottish rangers v Celtic games are the oldest.
Decent video but politically there are some wrong claims. Mussolini was not a fan of Lazio or football in general. He just used it as a vehicle to spread his fascist ideals, just like other political leaders have done all over the world. He was always more of a rugby fan, as that was the upper class sport. As for the fans: Roma ultras also have a far right element amongst them, it's definitely not a Lazio ultra thing alone. There's actually a very good book about it called: Football, Fascism and Fandom which has interviews with ultras of both clubs about their politics. They make it clear that while they hate each other on the terraces, they have the same political ideology and band together over this in a political sense.
I'm new to football. I like Immobile and Mancini, but my family is from Pescara. I don't think it would be fun cheering for a Serie C team.. and apparently there's a rivalry with Lazio. Any advice picking a Serie A team to cheer for?
You can’t just pick a team and be a loyal fan… but if you still want a team to cheer for and to be proud of, I’d go for one of the two Rome clubs, Genoa or Sampdoria, Torino, Lecce or clubs like these. They all have a great history (except for Lecce) and their fans are very passionate. I’d suggest doing more research if you want the best, but again, you’ll need to be interested with a team and actually fall in love with it. Oh and if you really like Immobile, he made history with Lazio and he was a really great striker until last year, so Lazio could be your choice

This guy knows his shit, respect
Hahaha please...!! Ok, you're laziale, so you're biased, and I'm romanista so i am too. But claiming that lazio is better at choreographies is pathetic, and so easily verified. The whole world knows about curva sud, all they know about the curva nord are the fascist salutes...
stefano paris Why do you lazio supporters always have to be such crybabies, nobody is trying to belittle you, and nobody puts Roma on a pedestal. The media treats the Capitals teams as what they are, average teams that achieve something sporadically, once in a while.
@@kevinmcnally8076 categorically untrue... Great recent examples include the attack on csk mosca fans captured on video and another video from a few games ago where a Roma fan throws a middle aged lady down a flight of stairs... Both incidents unreported on outlets such as corriere and gazzetta
When you were 12 yes old??! How long ago was that??
Adesso c'è un altro Derby da giocare.
People always like to exaggerate and over hype things, are there dangerous lunatics on both sides? definitely, but it is always played up as it gets views, check out the ridiculous video Copa 90 did on the rivalry, it was so over the top.

What you forgot to say was that Lazio has two European trophies besides the domestic ones. You've also made several more mistakes.

@@thepeacefulchannel613
Everybody cared about that derby even though Roma fans claim not to care about it 😂 have you not listened to Roma radio programs saying that this was the most important derby in the history of the two clubs? It’s because it was, and Lazio made history by winning it. The important thing was not the trophy or the UEL qualification, it was the fact that one of the two teams could “alzare la coppa in faccia” lift a trophy in front of the other team
Thanks God, i found your channel. I really like the way you serve the history in an easy way. Thumbs Up!
I did learn something from this video.
I love how much rewatch value these have, I can't remember the info (which is why the rewatch) but I know the quality of the video itself was/is good
SS Lazio, you cant make this up. Roma was more sympathetic even before I knew about the past of the teams.
I looked a while ago in the history of this clubs for fifa cm and because of Totti/DeRossi. Quite fascinating as you can see in the video. So I am looking forward to see more vids with the topic rivalry 👍

Just recently during a derby the fans threw flares at each other. Crazy.

This is unfortunataly lacking in England now! maybe one day I could join the lazio fans in the stadio olimpico to watch lazio play! Greeting from Blackpool, England. 🦅🔵⚪️
Roma ultras are right wing too.
justsay no No, Roma encompasses so many supporters that it does not have a specific political connotation, there is a right wing Romanista community a communist community so the Roma Firm does not bring politics in the stadium usually, while Lazio supporters have a strong far right or standard right wing identity.
Most of the Italians fans groups are right wing unfortunatly

Thumbs up to Lazio fans for standing up and saving their club. Similar thing happened to my favorite club Zeljeznicar Sarajevo. We were established 1921by the group of local railworkers. 1946 in that time communist government created FK Sarajevo by simply ordering our players to switch the club or could face a jail time. Only few players had guts to stay. But with a huge support from the fans we survived. Totally understand Lazio fans in that way where from the native club they almost push you out of scene. FORZA LAZIO
im a lazio fan and i wanna point something out.Im Roman,I come from Rome so as my whole family so my roots are all from Rome ,we are all from Rome not from outside the city. What u sìaid about the "burini" thing is false and ill tell u why. When lazio was born in Rome there were 900.000 people in the city and at 1925 in Rome the population increased at 1.500.000 people thats because all italians who were coming to Rome for the job offers they all come from different regions of the countries and in order to identified themselves as roman and has not immigrants they were all supporting roma.As u said they were playing in testaccio a workindustry area so the real burini are them and not lazio fan cause we all come from ROme.And we called ourselves lazio not for the region because at that time "lazio" region didn't exist but because of Latius which translate from latin to italian is lazio. We are Rome.Rome and real roman roots supports Lazio and not as roma.AS ROMA MERDA.....FORZAA LAZIO 1900:daje lazio

66veteran it is NOT wonderfull logic. It’s called unaltered reality. He is telling you exactly how thngs are. Not to mention Lazio, on performance level has achieved more (just watch, soon will be cleared how Lazio should be champions of Italy 1914-1915, when Genoa was declared champion of NORTH of Italy, never facing Lazio, who went to WW1) . The only problem I’d say Eduardo makes is that he should tell you more about the history.

Viva Roma!
Not all ultras are fascist
Napoli fans are like this. They all act cool with knives and attack small group of people in hundreds.
Nothing in football is "senseless" not even the violence. Its all part of the game and the history, like it or not.
You should do one on Newell's Old Boys and Rosario Central, wich divides Argentiba's 2nd largest City
Forza Lazio Ale👍🏼💙

I did something very sacrilegious by taking Francesco Totti as my SS in my eFootball Lazio team lol
I love these videos, and this one might be a bit harder to find info on, but I was wondering if you could do one on The Old Farm Darby between Norwich City and Ipswitch Town
Dead easy - dates back to before the Saxon invasion when East Anglia was divided into Norfolk (the North Folk), where Norwich is located and Suffolk (the South Folk), where Ipswich is located. Let them kick seven kinds of doodoo out of each other for a few centuries, then throw them a ball to fight over and: "Roberto es tu tio!"
