Soundcore Motion Boom Plus vs Motion X600 -- which one is better?

- I paid $150 with an $50 off Amazon coupon for the Soundcore Motion X600
IMHO, the Soundcore Motion Boom Plus doesn't sound as pure and lifelike as the Motion X600. It has a more "plasticky" sound and not as clean as the X600. The Boom Plus does have a pinch more bass...but, not as smooth as the X600. I did a bench test and used Soundcore's proprietary APP to compare and switch back and forth (same song). All tone settings were equal. The X600 does a better job at making music...more pleasant sounding with some very good linear bass. To me, it is the way to go for some good poolside music...esp if you want something better than those really tiny tube ones. The X600 is small enough to throw it in your checked baggage (suitcase) and have a solid performing BT speaker while you travel. It does not come with a AC/DC USB-C power adapter (wall wart)...however, a cord is included. Make sure to download the Soundcore APP on your phone to adjust tone preferences. I found it quite good! You can leave it plugged in and playing while recharging -- won't hurt the battery or operation

FWIW, I actually build high end portable Bluetooth speakers with real bass, clean sound, and power. Been building speakers since the late 1970s.

Chris, the Motion Boom Plus , is an out and out party speaker with bass for the back yard and the Motion x600 is more of an indoor audiophile speaker with its emphasis on clarity that can be portable at a pinch. I have both and for me x600 get much more use and the build quality of the x600 is just sublime.

Gosh dang it, you just made my wallet a little bit lighter for the start of 2024. I bought the Motion Boom awhile ago and you're right about the slight plasticky sound when you really crank it up. However, it does the job well for those who like to listen to livestream "talk radio" or podcasts. Finding bluetooth speakers that you can have a little bit of the best of both worlds without breaking the bank is a big plus.
I like the Boom Plus...I just don't "love" it. The X600 sings more nicely. FWIW - watch for Amazon coupons. That is how I got mine for $149.99...or I wouldn't have bought it. Sure glad I did. Good luck, thanks for commenting

Yes, quite good. Kinda impressive in a way. Granted, not "subwoofer" crazy SPL room shaking...but, very good at normal listening volumes

what charging brick did you used on x600? 5v/2A or 5V/3A?
Either USB AC/DC adapter will work with the right cord. Takes very little time to charge up

Great points. The Boom Plus isn't that great for outdoor use. The X600 is (however). It sounds really good for low-moderate background music...and that's about it. It won't "blast" by any means like the ones we had in the 1980s. However, it is more rugged and better built vs the Boom Plus.

This review is pointless without a sound test, I want to listen with my ears, I prefer my own judgement.
The only way to do it is in person. Most people watch these reviews on their phones with their 50¢ built-in speakers. Plus, you have to depend on the reviewer to use professional quality mics, then worry about how RUclips compresses the sounds. It's not ideal.
