Used to be a good channel - NOW the behaviour is bizarre, so it's hard to take seriously.
from anyone else i might be offended but you have a track record of personal attacks on me so not sure where you claim it used to be a good channel came from as you havent likes it for many months. luckily i have enough self esteem that living up to other peoples expectations isnt a requirement for me. you are still here 9 months after your last attack so cant be all bad if you are still hanging around huh? and you know if you dont like what i do you can always go back to Oluvs channel where you came from 👌

Losing subscribers? i would say you will gain more after that rant because it just proves how honest you are when you do ure reviews, you are not suckerd in by manufacturers claims of best speakers, that’s why you are the only one I go to when I want to buy a new one!!
Thanks for that but some are getting fed up with hearing about the x600 😁 i really wanted to credit myself with having my ideas stolen to tune this hype machine as soundcore didn't want to 😁
This is the reason why I've stayed with minirigs. I now have a 6.2.2 setup that still to this day amazes me every time I get it playing. Still haven't heard an equal even as a stereo pair to this system. Who cares about misinformation & company claims when sound like this exists?
@@joekatich4501 has the pairing improved? Wireless lock working?
I only have 1 minirig 3 paired to my phone. None of the others are linked to my phone. Left is paired right os slave. I link in app to stereo & play music immediately upon connecting. Once all 10 are wired, I cie the app for dual subs & eq. I use studio having 3 minirig 3s per side, & a sub. Minirigs mini is set up on 45°stand. His from the minis make up for loss in the 3s. The app works great as long as I leave it to what I set it for. Having only 1 speaker paired & stored to the phone doesn't allow the app to keep trying to connect to others
@alanrossreviews your reviews are assome mate, thx for the help
Appreciate the honest reviews as always. Bringing up the Soundcore Boom they really never messed around with its signature sound the way they did with the Boom Plus and X600. That was the whole point of having an adjustable EQ. At this point specifically this video might be the only "actual" review of the X600 on RUclips.
😁 At this point and with the feedback from this video we now have at least 6 concurrent firmwares, this surely must be some sort of record 😭
Alan, I think you're are bang on to call out hyperbole on other channels and it takes a lot of guts. Good for you! I watch your videos because I don't have ears for the nuances between the sounds, but your deep dive reviews - graphical plots and side by side comparisons convince me you know what you are on about - and your passion is palpable - unlike other 'reviews' that basically read you the press release. I'm glad to be subscribed to your channel and hope your enthusiasm continues. I brought a motion sound plus, alongside my initial motion boom, and did feel let down in the lack of sparkle. they got me with the marketing and the discount. I have BT soundcore headphones and like the brand, I think they should acknowledge your efforts, pay you for a consult, and maybe add a separate EQ default, if that's possible. I thought you were having a positive impact when the firmware logs mentioned more than the generic 'bug fixes' lets hope the hardware is able to reach the sweet spot your suggesting and firmware fixable and they can appreciate your efforts over the more biased reviewers. Keep up the good work - dont let the buggers get you down.
thanks for taking the time to make that comment, lets see if can at least get them to address the distortion issues. I fear though it may be a fundamental issue in the design aligned with the processing.
Fantastic. Love your honesty, as always.

Its just great there is someone as you man! Good luck to you !!
I appreciate that!
You know what really grinds my gears? It's marketed as one speaker, but it's like trying to pick a favorite flavor of ice cream with all these different units, firmwares, and sound profiles. And then they have the gall to call it "hi-fi spatial audio." It's enough to make you want to shake your head and laugh.
But wait, it gets better. You've got these diehard fans of certain reviewers who start parroting their quirky opinions. They defend this speaker like it's the second coming of audio, claiming they can hear Beethoven tinkling the piano behind them, Galway to the right on the flute, Gingold on the left with the violin, and Herseth marching around with the trumpet. I mean, are they hosting a personal composer party in their living room?
It's as if their speaker, which is quietly sitting on a bookshelf, has secretly been possessed by the ghost of a 7.1 sound system. I want to know what kind of audio-enhancing snacks they're munching on while listening to this speaker that makes them believe they're in the middle of a musical mosh pit! It's hilariously mind-blowing.
Yup 😝 of course it doesn't help that soundcore have a promotion that gives prizes to people saying nice things about it on social media 😁 i havent heard a single one of these shill parrots say a single logical thing about the x600 when challenged.

The Motion Plus, Motion Boom, and Boost are some of Soundcore's success stories competitively priced and backed up by performance. I've never been a brand loyalist (Soundcore or anyone else) but it saddens me about the direction they've taken lately 😢. Every sensible company wants to make a profit but it seems Soundcore is now focused more on marketing (and to some degree misdirection and deception) rather than producing quality products that can stand on their own merits. But, thank you for another great one, Alan! 😁👍👏
Thats without even mentioning they have resorted to checking out youtube videos to tune their speakers, how crazy is that? 🤣🤣🤣
@@alanrossreviewsLMAO WHAT 💀💀
@@IamJay02 they admitted using my idea of reducing mids and highs to increase bass rather than just boost the bass for even more distortion. openly admitted it in an email to em but refused to credit me for it.
@@alanrossreviews Geez that is scummy. Soundcore are so focused on sponsors and advertising it's insane.
Thank you Alan for all you have done and still do. I thoroughly enjoy and trust your reviews. I still own and enjoy my Motion Booms and Boom Plus with your specific tune set up. I also enjoyed the brand but am sad to see they are going the way of the executive decision.
👍 Soundcore needs to learn when to stop digging that hole 😭
Hi Alan. I bought my Soundcore 3 based on your honest reviews, technical knowledge and comparisons. You're the man!
thank you for that 😁👍👍
I just updated the firmware on the Soundcore Motion X600 3.3.2 Jan 8 2024 it sounds amazing to me now great deep bass on the eq treble boost loving the speaker now.
"deep bass" right
In my reviews, I already said you're the reason why I started to take a look at soundcore because I was JBL,HK only in the beginning. I really appreciate your review on Soundcore and the bad effect of having on people. The X600 can be a nice speaker, but it's not all of that 😂 I have to double-check, but I think my unit is having charging problems since it took all day to charge yesterday with a 45 watt brick that I usually use for it and charges it just fine but I'm going to double-check later. But if my unit is having problems and soundcore doesn't want to send me a replacement,I might postpone it but I think my take would be really appreciated if done sooner
Pretty much sums it up, can be nice but overall not all that 😉 hard to understand why they won't address the distortion issues.
Thank You for your honesty. Saw all the hype and came here to see what's real. Sticking with my Motion + and Boom.
there have been many firmware updates and i havent tried the latest which people say sounds quite good now 🤷♂🤷♂ but given most people didnt know what spatial audio was and couldnt hear the overdrive before im not sure how valid those opinions are 😁😁 i havent personally used the speaker for months. got my go play 3 and its different level.

Hi, appreciate the honesty. I found your channel when trying to do a bit of reseach for buying a new portable speaker and had considered the x600 and after a month of searching I still have bought nothing hehe. I have a rather eclectic tast in music covering many genres and while bass is nice, some speakers appear to "muddy" the content and presence of other intruments and vocals, I rarely play my music above 50% volume (mostly 20-30%). I am not an "audiophile" I just like to hear nice things play nicely ;) I don't know whether it's too much too look for in a portable device and whether the want for crisp clear sounds is a pie in the sky ask from such devices but I'll keep looking ;0 I did like the sound of your minirig setup and may just have to save my pennies for something like that but something a bit more portable would be nice and I'm not sure whether to try looking for wi-fi / bluetooth instead ...for now I'll keep looking and listening to honest reviews here.
yeah its hard because every speaker has its pluses and minuses and has to fit with your personal taste. i listen to lots of speakers as just the same one every time can get boring.
Q: How to tell if a reviewer can be trusted?
A: Check their review of the X600 🙂
yes you are onto something here, we should thank soundcore for providing a shill filter 👌👌
Why don't they just make a larger Motion +?
Anyways quality content as usual.
they have become quite the mystery company 😑
Exactly, the size of the motion boom would be perfect.
the mifa wildbox??

I just discovered your channel, very specific energy (hard to follow for a non english speaker) but I like your honnesty! Thank you very much ! This video is truly an eye opener. Even if I was aware of this issues (hide paid review), it's really hard to distinguish between honnest review from let's say less honnest review ...
But to be honnest when I heard the samples, I truly think that the motion x600 was better but I am not an expert. And yours revelations about the firmware are concerning and made me revaluate my view on soundcore.
I'm actually looking for a speaker for less than 200€ so I'm glad to have seen this video before any purchase...
Even for English speakers im not that easy to understand 🤣 yes if people don't know much about the Bluetooth speaker world they simply trust the reviewer, if has 300k subs he must be honest right? Sadly it seems the opposite is true, its the smaller channels doing reviews simply from a passion for speakers that tend to be more honest.
Ultimately what you said at 18:03 is most certainly the case, most people don’t know what distorted base is. and still consider themselves audio files just because they bought a speaker that says Hi-Rez audio.
yup, i havent come across a single speaker no matter how bad or how awful it is that somebody somewhere doesn't say is fantastic 😎

Always love your honest reviews and the breakdown of the sound and comparisons.
I don't have the X60..seems to be a good speaker but i think the casing needs to be a little wider and address the deep bass deficiency. Oh long live the aging MB👌👍
I like Soundcore..goot sold on the Motion Boom even though it lacked twitters. To some extent i like the MB+ but deep bass is not as good as on the MB. Ive also realized that one of my MB+ sounds better than the other one. The one with passive radiator adjustments doesn't give as much bass as the other one. I like the way the other one sound.
That said I'm kinda looking forward to another MB++... maybe this time slightly wider n bigger in size withs bigger drivers/speakers that put out deep deep deep bass.
Hopefully Priced about $250 but under $300:so ppl don't screem much😅
I think soundcore has totally lost their way, i have no confidence they will be producing any new classics any time soon 😕

I’m listening to this on old but great (10yr old and used 1,000s of hours) Bluetooth rocketfish speaker; I can hear distinct differences in the firmware and the motion boom sounded great in comparison to the muddy new speaker. I’m looking for what I will upgrade to when this rocketfish finally dies. It was $150USD new and few speakers sound as good or last as long 10years and going strong with great frequency response and smooth sound. I’ve used this speaker hard on construction jobsites daily for years. My buddy recently got the motion boom plus and it’s nice but the highs are harsh. We’re going on a beach week getaway and I was considering getting the motion boom plus but maybe the motion boom is better suited to my ears with softer highs and nice bass for the package size. Do you have any input or recommendations? I have the flare2 for more easy listening like when kayaking(it fits nicely in a cupholder and has 360 sound) or watching RUclips and it’s great for that but when you wanna get hankin crankin loud and have great sound reproduction what’s the good options out there? The rocketfish that I have is probably similar in size to the party2 although I haven’t seen that one in person.
The motion boom plus goes louder and its signature sound is better suited for outdoor listening than the boom but i dont care for the boom plus personally. Stormbox blast too big?
I heard on some of the tribit speakers, the ones with firmware version 3 the base is slightly reduced, then, with the ones with the firmware version 2
i havent heard that before
Do you think I should get the tribute blast you recommended or the onyx studio 8?
For all round use get the blast, for bass quality get the o8 or better still the 5 or 6 if twin tweeters is not a big deal or not.
@AlanRossReviews People like you are the only eligible ones I think for reviewing audio products. Reviewing Speakers really requires understanding of acoustics and music. Many reviewers just don't understand this but still make review and flawed recommendations. Thank you very much for pouring your heart out to explain the technicalities, and true pros and cons of each device.
i wont comment on what is a good or bad reviewer because i think all we really need are honest opinions, whether you agree or disagree is not the issue. The real issue is that 90% of channels over say 50k subs are liars. I didnt realise how bad it was till Soundcore paid off every shill they could find.
hey Alan, any plans on reviewing fender newport or beoplay p6?
Serious listeners know who to follow. Actually there are lots of cheaters that we can decide it easily when we watch them...
But they really know how to praise without serious testing.
but this is different because its paid for bullshit not just some dishonest reviewer after some freebies. These are brought to you by soundcore videos mostly 😒
Another great review Alan, not a rant, just saying it as it is ! It's a pity there isn't more honesty on RUclips. I do like the speaker (at low volumes) but turn it up at all and the bass is shocking. I'm on 4.2.8 and the app says I'm up to date ?
yup, 6 firmwares out in the wild right now. Yes its not awful but many issues and the marketing is total bullshit!
I GOT THE X600 JUST TO LISTEN THE ISSUES YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT (AS A SORT OF A SOUNDCORE FANBOY WHO PREVIOUSLY OWNED AND LOVED 2 BOOMS AND 1 MOTION+ MOSTLY BASED ON YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS...). MY X600 IMMEDIATELY OFFERED FIRMWARE UPDATE, I THOUGHT IT WAS THE LATEST ONE, DOWNLOADED IT AND INSTALLED. THEN WHEN I TURNED ON THE LDAC CODEC IN THE SPEAKER SETTINGS IN THE APP IT IMMEDIATELY OFFERED ANOTHER LATEST FIRMWARE, WEIRD. HOPE SOUNDCORE WILL SOMEHOW BE ABLE TO SALVAGE EQUALIZERWISE THIS OTHERWISE NICE LOOKING SPEAKER BASED ON YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS.
so what firmware did you end up on?
@@alanrossreviews 4.2.1
Hi, I have a basic question. Is the sound of a speaker the same if, for example, you decrease all EQ settings to -5 and then increase the volume (and the other way around increase all EQ settings to +5 and decrease the volume)?
Or would that change anything in the sound?
no because it doesnt effect the whole frequency response evenly
Just got the soundcore motion 300. I have to say, i am impressed. The bass is very close to the bose flex. Flex might have more kick to its bass but the motion 300 i feel goes just as deep. But i am very impressed at the openness and clarity of the sound. Others are saying the flex sounds more open. I dont her that. You have to eq the 300 to get good sound. Its the most customizable eq iv ever seen. I also played a track that has bass at 56hz 62hz and 70hz. The motion 300 able to play all three pretty well but the bose flex could not produce the 56hz well enough for my phone to pick up on it. I used the spectroid app to see if the speaker is really making certain frequencies
well i get one when available 😋
Saw people talking about this speaker. Decided to look up reviews. Instantly just through thumbnails and the first few seconds of videos instantly clicking off and going to the next one cuz it’s so obviously bullshit. Finally got to this one and in 5 seconds tuned to my friend and went “idk why but I trust this man implicitly” proceeds to watch him launch into a rant about the paid reviews and shit, so gratifying to be right on that soul read.

thanks for the info i just cancelled my order that was only 6 hrs old i have 2 - minirig mk3 with 2 subwoofers 2 years ago . but 1 sub and just a few days ago one of my mk3 stopped charging . so i was going to double down on the hype and purchase 2 - 600x sound core . Will go with the soundcore's motion save money and with close to 20 k good reviews on amazon
The x500 is probably a better buy over the x600 anyway 👍
Can anybody tell how is the sony xg 300 after update ..motion x600 vs xg300 difference...
Keep going mate, a rant is needed sometimes! I've only ever watched your channel to be fair, get all I need in real info. Scary times when the bullshit rules, not just in speakers! I join you in the fight! All the best in going forward and best of health, cheers
its not good, its one things promoting your product its another thing to have so many lies in these videos.
I was going to buy an X600, but having second thoughts now. What do you recommend as the best portable speaker for the best sound quality?
i dont get into the best speaker thing, its different for everyone. in terms of value i go for the tribit stormbox blast with a custom eq.
Hi Alan. There's a new firmware - 3.3.2. Think there's a 4.3.2 as well. Will there be a firmware update video on these? Trying to decide whether to update. Wish they had just kept the original EQ 😭
i hope to get to this but things change as i work slow 🤣🤣
I told you that soundcore listened to what you say about reducing the volume on the soundcore plus. Seperate speaker but still a valid comment. P.S. Keep up the good reviews. 👍👍
Ha! Yup turns out they really watch my videos 😊 who knew 🤷
Hello, Alan!
Is Soundcore Motion X600 better compared to JBL Boombox 3 (not the Wi-Fi Version)? Thank you!
Lol, you must have been watching some shill reviews. No the x600 can in no way be compared to the boombox 3.
You are a miracle
Thats a first lol 😂
I had a nice Aiwa boombox in the 80s that had a setting called 'wide'
...and yeah it played stereo ok from its speakers behind the grill but with the wide setting the sound stage (cough) or something approaching it did throw the image (again cough ) er ..wider .
Without taking it to bits we thought that perhaps the tweeters might be thrown out of phase with the woofers remaining as they were ....well one tweeters polarity swapped in reality . There was no loss of bass so that was the best we came up with .
It was quite effective at low to medium vol in a close envionment .
The other thing it had was a tricky motorised cassette transport with motorised buttons with a previously unheard of ' one touch record '
Cool ! ..yeah , all good .until your kids need entertaining , one perhaps sitting on the worktop next to the boombox , me chopping garlic etc
...now all my good tapes turned into Van Morrison or Gregory Isaacs etc. with 15 minutes of daddy talks to two year old Joe until daddy realises the tunes stopped a while back .
the first time you recorded off air the top 20 and thinking you was now officially a pirate 😝😝 tdk metallic tape hit and it was the holy grail of pirating 😜

Just received a firmware update here in the USA for 4.3.1 I'm actually happy with how it sounds so I don't want to update haha
what firmware are you currently on?
In fact I would like to hear it for myself and compare it to my 12 year old sistem to see if sound actually improved over the years.
Glad there’s still one honest reviewer
thank you ✔✔
brother.can u reply my comment plz...which better HK studio 7 or anker motion x600?tq
Hk onyx 7
they contacted me out of the blue (i don't even have a speaker review channel) and offered to send me a new one for free with a firmware update that will fix the bass. i got a "custom" 3.3.0 firmware that reduced highs and boosted bass up to 50% volume (too much bass) and applied a limiter that dropped the bass over 50% volume. so it still sounds bad lol oh, they added a "bass boost" pre-set eq that sounds ridiculous 🤦🏻♂️
holy fook!!!!!!!!! thats 6 firmware's now and counting out there on a speaker they are paying shills to claim as the best speaker 2023, soundcore are so not going to be trusted at all moving forward after this debacle.
So we now have 3.2.1, 3.3.0, 3.2.8, 4.2.1, 4.2.8, 4.2.9
@@alanrossreviews🤣🤣🤣
@@alanrossreviews I will send you a screenshot to prove it if you're on like Instagram or something. this whole thing has gotten quite ridiculous.

@@alanrossreviews BTW the revolve plus, seems like i sold it and you removed it from your recomendations at the same time. :D off to find a good deal on the stockwell 2 now. currently retaining the beoplay a1 gen1,google nest audio and motion boom, rest all sold.
I'm still considering the x600, can get it at 130-140 when it's discounted.can u suggest another portable bt speaker with acceptable design ( the tribit blast is too big and not good looking in my opinion😂) and have better sound, bass at 150. The JBL speaker design is fine to me, or i should pay 200$ for a "likenew" GO PLAY. It would be great to hear your opinion, tks u, and sorry about my broken English too😅
The x600 is a great speaker 👌
The go+ play is a league above in terms of bass and balance
@@Jahreas and yet you said the bass is too much and you cant use the bass button

Mine making some noise like crackling with some bass heavy songs and even if i just put it on table makes that noise. I think before all of these firmwares it sounded the best
x.2.1? that would be the most bass light one so that would explain being kinder for distortion.
@@alanrossreviews yep, also more open one, the new 4.3.0 that i got sound a bit strange compared to x.2.1 or x.1.8
@@alanrossreviewsim trying to get a replacement of this speaker because mine just sound horrible with so much distortion unlistenable

Unsubscribe? I’m newly subscribed, you’re the only review I could find that wasn’t the stupidest bullshit hype review style from people I’ve never heard of yet suspiciously almost point for point exactly the same review as the last guy. I take a lot of time to find someone I trust to give me an actual review of a product, especially in audio, and in my experience the best one is always the guy who’s calling a majority of the stuff out there bullshit. That’s the guy you listen to when he says something is good. Anyways I don’t have anyone to trust for bt speakers and you earned my sub today.
thanks for the sub and welcome aboard 👍
What do you think of using spatial + bass, woth the custom EQ: +8,+6,+4,+1,+2,-2,+2,+7,+6
i cant listen to this speaker due to the bass distortion.
Soundcore just flooded RUclips with Space One promotional “reviews”. Even more so than they did with the X600. It seems that everyone and their mother got a pair. I’m assuming these are the headphones Oluv was referring to. Thanks for calling out the shills. But with that said it would’ve been nice if you also shouted out the non•shills, the audio folks you think we should trust, besides you and Oluv of course.
well i often tell people im not the only honest one, there are small reviewers that subscribe to me that i know are honest like techder audios, the ascended tech ninja, danny pops and domini reviews. it seems to be when you get 50k and above and they start eyeing a living from it that things change. having said that dlx willington and gymcaddys eem honest enough if not really my cup of tea. maybe i should get the space one and really piss soundcore off? 🤣 the funny thing is when they was trying to keep me sweet and take down my ig posts about them not sending the rave neo 2 they said they had made me tier one reviewer, you know how many things they have sent me since then? zero 😁 awful company! 🤦♀️
You are a treasure, Alan. I'm very worried about the future of honest reviews
i share your fears, youtube definitely favours sponsored bullshit over true reviews
@@alanrossreviews terrible state of affairs for consumers. Thank you again for all your amazing contributions
Thanks again for remaining authentic, now should I buy one to add to my, Boom, Stormbox blast, Boom plus? My poor NS1000's are getting neglected while I'm playing with these boxes........you're costing me a fortune🤣. I yearn for the days when you could audition sub £1k audio side by side prior to purchase.
Id get a pair of boosts before i got an x600 but then i like a warm sound and the x600 for me is a bit souless
Can you please send your EQ link?
I'll check this out later Alan, let's see if you got this 🤟😄
lets see if you complain about me on other channels 👍
I'll just complain here.
@@Jahreas i will be checking as always 👍
I like the original tuning for the clean sound. The new tuning is good too but I would drop a shade on the bass. This is a speaker of clean balance, clarity across the range. It shouldn't try to be bass heavy, that can be left to personal tuning. It does have a really good sound, people shouldn't get confused, this is a great speaker, it is better than most to my ears. But I do have two sounds from my two devices... The bass is heavy muddy on my phone but sweet through my tablet.. So the moral is keep the bass as a refined bass not a lower bass. This system is designed for room clarity.. The sound will change at different volumes, this requires more tuning.. Essentially not many speakers have the clarity this has in moderate environments. I can get the sweetest sound of Miles Davis, Brand X, Weather Report, Rush with this speaker. I'm not knocking it. But only through the tablet as the main device. I would also like the speaker to carry the vocals with more definition but that would take the speaker to the €500 mark and in calls, I would like the sound to be better and with an extra microphone or two. It's better sounding to me than those two speakers when I listen with headphones, I'm not listening directly of course, I just prefer the x600 sound..
Alan I love the rant 🤣👍🏼
Thank you for your honesty. This is the kind of channel i look for when im planning to buy something. The ones who blow everyone who gives them free crap are worthless or worse

Hi Alan. I’m waiting for two new speakers dropping this month ( sonos move 2 and jbl authentic series ) please review them and before i knew about your channel i bought marshall tufton because someone on youtube said its a great speaker but that was a big mistake.
Yeah only marshall i liked was stockwell 2. Moving forward im going to be doing less frequent reviews for a while because im a losing my drive a bit. I need to find my mojo again 😁
@@alanrossreviews I’m glad you got back to me. And keep the flame alive. Cuz we will be waiting for your reviews
i got the stormbox blast and its just not as clear as the motion plus and the battery drained fairly quickly which is weird considering it should last like 30 hours (it lasted less than half of that). I didn't realize you cant charge it without usb-c and i'm not sure whether I should return it. I love the bass but besides that I get sort of fatigued using it and hearing that thump all day. Is there any recommendation you have that is perhaps as clear as the motion plus and has most of the bass the tribit has? I'm willing to spend 200usd max
have you tried my neutral eq? battery should be lasting though, what firmware are you on?
30 hours without lights and on normal volume
that sounds about right but wasnt there a firmware at one point addressing battery issues?
@@alanrossreviewsyep was but battery in mine was fine
@@alanrossreviews I was using the speaker indoors at 40-50% volume with your settings. The low battery indicator turned off when I reset the device but the app keeps changing the battery % from 40 to 30 to 50 and so on percent and it’s really annoying. I’m not sure when my speaker will stop playing. I’m using your neutral eq and I’m on v3.1 firmware 😭
Please answer , anker neo rave 2 or x600
