Attacks from critics? Nobody is interested in their opinion! Critics are people with less talent who are jealous of people with real talent or who are a genius like this beautiful lady.
This rendition on Griegs concerto it's outstanding, sounds perfect in everyway, thanks to the orchestra, the conductor and the Lovely Khatia who melts me everyday that I see her!!!
the piece itself is easily the best piece of music written by the composer and many feel it's the best piano concerto ever written period......the artist playing it is an artist of the highest understanding of the music & is hot as a bonus
This is a remarkable performance of a work (the Grieg piano concerto) which is often subjected to mechanical hackneyed performers playing with no sense of style, without the highly charged erotic energy which this late 19th century piece demands. Ms. Buniatishvili has recently been subjected to many attacks from "critics" and others who are offended by the style of her attire. Many of these individuals seem to be unaware that Western European Art Music was given a large, rejuvenating injection of erotic energy in the 19th century, by many composers, particularly Liszt and Berlioz. It's hard to overestimate the prurient effect that Liszt had on his audiences. There are dozens of reports of women swooning and fainting, overwhelmed by Liszt's calculated, unashamed expression of blatant sexuality in his person and music, which was their first exposure to such a thing in the repressed society of mid 19th century Europe. The aforementioned "critics" seem to be unnerved by Liszt having returned to earth in a voluptuous female body. Khatia Buniatishvili has a phenomenal technique, perhaps approaching that of the legendary Liszt himself. She makes eye contact with the other musicians to a degree which I have never before witnessed in a soloist in many years of observing such things. This is a crucial element of performance which is sorely lacking in most soloists with orchestras. This is reminiscent of Liszt's generous attitude toward other musicians. The manner in which she displays her body is carefully calculated according to the piece of music she is playing in order to inject the proper kind and amount of erotic energy into the performance; in the Romantic repertoire she is immersed in, such energy is a much needed and authentic aspect of the character of the music. She is an extraordinary musician whose importance to the music world and the world in general will come to be realized as time passes.
In my opinion, Khatia is highly likely THE unrivaled peak of pianistic and musical talent. A talent like only once in a century! All her critics are frustrated smartestes who either have no intellect or no emotional base to even understand what miracles she is capable of on the piano!
She is undoubtably one of the most attractive women in music, and likewise also one of the most talented women in music. I find both her performance and beauty delightful, like the other great women pianists of our time, such as Helene Grimaud, Anna Federova, Yuja Wang, Alice Sara Ott to name but a few. Hats off to these talented woman, there is no reason for them to hide their natural beauty
Monumental ! The more pieces I listen from Khatia, the more confidently I claim that she is the greatest piano genius of the last decades ! Maybe of the last century!
what an amazing performance!! I love that she smiles and looks at the orchestra and the conductor. Never seen a pianist do that. Also love the artistic flair she expresses with her hands.
Absolutely - you can't buy the grace with which she sweeps her face clear of her beautiful hair, or the fire which literally shoots her off the bench. And the perfect timing and coordination of the climaxes!
She enjoys being there and shows her involvement in the music when the orchestra features alone. Absolutely brilliant interpretation making the piece come vividly alive with expression.
An outstanding performance by a highly talented pianist and great orchestra! The flutist was superb. Ms Buniatishvili's timing and sensitivity are especially noteworthy. This is the best rendition of this masterpiece I have ever heard.
If you listen to many of her videos, you'll notice that she picks very forceful, difficult and demanding works. Not one to shy away. A joy to listen to.
Listened to this repeatedly as a child. The melody rolled in my head clearly for 40 years, never actually a recording however. 5 seconds into this i knew that Khatia's version is all I need. Hope she plans to play near Cincinnati in 2020/21!
Yes Khatia Buniatishvili certainly "broke the glass ceiling" for female concert pianists a long time ago. She is as sensational at the keyboard as she is to look at. Whoever first introduced her to the whole world of piano concertizing I must strongly and wholeheartedly thank.
Me too ! Just listen to EVERY audience respond to her ! Watch even the Maestros flirting with her ! What joy she's going to continue bringing to the world !
Again, what a most beautiful performance. The se cond movement was perfection; This performance is the best in history. Khatia's personality and responce to the orchestration is exceptional..John Rapp
One thing I'll say about Khatia is that she certainly gives her all in performance. Whether one likes her style or not, she is never boring. Incidentally what is the first encore?.
This concerto too often sounds like it has just been played one time too many but not here. Khatia sounded so wild that these people should have stormed the stage and then carried Khatia through the streets in delirious frenzy. Presumably Germans are raised not to behave like this if this were indeed Germans.
Khatia Buniatishvili is actually a Georgian concert pianist who has a wonderful flair for performing passionately which is contrary to more staid style of Western European performers.
Hello. Great, I love it. His interpretation is so gorgeous, strong and fragile at the same time. "705JRC" is right, the first added piece is Edvard Grieg op. 57/6 "Homesickness", I have cheked it. But is there someone who knows the title track of the last one. Thanks everybody.
Yes, she is beautiful in her attire but what I'm in love with is her musical soul, grace, and understanding of this magical concerto. I feel sorry for those people that can't see beyond the physical world, feel with your very soul, what your hearing is magic like you will not see much of in this currently debauched world. I remember as a child how much I hated theory, I felt many people got so rapt up in it they forget why they were sitting at the keyboard. As for beauty, I was married to a professional fashion model for 65 years and was a photographer for her modeling agency so being around beautiful women was the order of the day, but as an x musician, I look for and listen for more than beauty.
Esencialmente Kathia es la mejor. Artista del piano. su sensibilidad Trasciende y crea una atmósfera al interpretar que nadie puede dejar de sentir Es la mujer Arte creando totalmente el Arte
The first two movements are played well enough, but the tempo she chooses in the third movement is unquestionably too fast, and as if this weren't enough, the Coda (final pages) has to be heard to be believed. It's executed at such a frenzied pace as to be as laughable as her Codas in the Rachmaninoff 2nd, Tchaikovsky 1st, Chopin 2nd (F minor), and in the entire 3rd movement of the Schumann concerto. And guess what she charms us with as her 2nd encore? Her infamous, history-making, cold-blooded murder of Prokofiev's "Precipitato" (from his 7th sonata). Once again, the word "laughable" comes to mind. She needs to have someone whisper in her ear that excessive speed is no guarantee of elevated, musical effect. There'll always be, of course, listeners who are wowed out of their minds by these "exciting" but outlandish tempos. They're the ones who fill up the rest of this page with approving, glowing comments. I like to think that there are also many who agree with my observations.
I'm a devoted fan of this wonderful young woman, who always overwhelms her public with her virtuosity and grace. However, I can't but notice that in her passion, she overdoes the pace of some pieces, and transforms what should be a leisurely experience into a wild gallop which leaves us tense and breathless. Sorry Kathya, but I believe Grieg deserves a better treatment to be enjoyed properly, such as Arthur Rubinstein does, for example.

If critics can't tell you the performance that just inspired you isn't really as good as it sounded, what good are they?
She is not a genius
This rendition on Griegs concerto it's outstanding, sounds perfect in everyway, thanks to the orchestra, the conductor and the Lovely Khatia who melts me everyday that I see her!!!

Dont know much about music but this and her clair de lune are only versions i will listen to. Hope she plays near cincinnai in 2020/21. Best regards
Yes, arguably the greatest of her generation, but of the century. I think she is the rightful successor to Martha Argerich.
You have just introduces me to Argerich. Thank you. Im learning in my own way about music.

I'm sure a lot of pianists and conductors exchange looks at certain points though. Zimerman, for one.
She's just marvelous, doesn't take on easy works and has a fierceness and power about her.

Have watched this performance dozens of times. I'll never make it to the venues so I will settle for this. Engrossing every time.
Super ! The touch of the piano by khatia Buniatishvili , strong and delicated simultaneous manner !
My problem is how does this have such low views on YT when it is absolutely amazing!! Khatia we love you! Thank you
She's so very gracious to her audience as well as the orchestra. Something that's missing in society overall. Classy.
Miraculous performance with pure and intense excitement and charisma!!!!
Simplemente....¡¡¡¡¡....FANTASTICO.....!!!!!
Gives me complete goosebumps and Khatia makes me weak-kneed too!!!!! What a performance!!! 😍
