Constantine is one of the most underrated superhero movies of all time. And I can't not wait to finally see a sequel of it.

He's not exactly a superhero. Not every comic book character is a superhero. Comics are way more than superhero stuff.
I remember there was this little stretch after the Matrix sequels dissappointed so many people where no one wanted to see Keanu in anything. That played some role in the film getting overlooked, unfairly or not.
Hope you all caught the after credit scene, it helps make up for an upsetting death.

Before Keanu Reeves was John Wick kicking ass in a suit, he was Constantine, kicking (demon's) ass in a suit.
Also, Peter Stormare gives one of the best performances of his life as lucifer here, which he's only in the movie for like 5 minutes and Tilda Swinton as a genderless angel is just so perfect as well!
Nevertheless, this is such a ridiculously underrated movie. I had no exposure to the character prior to the movie, so I absolutely LOVED it and this movie really doesn't get enough love, in my opinion.

@@jddole7079 They didn’t want Keanu to use his real name, they wanted him to change his name to John, because for some reason these Hollywood execs think Americans can’t deal with non-Christian names. I don’t remember the whole story, but since then he’s almost always played a character named John.
@@jddole7079 I'm pretty sure that Keanu has made some films change the name TO John before he would accept the role. But maybe not, because John is a very, very common name so it's possible to have tons of John characters. But the fact that he's played so many that are so hugely popular is crazy :) Johnny Mnemonic, Johnny Utah (Point Break), John Wick, John Constantine, Jonathon Harker (Dracula) though he's called Jonathon rather than John, Jack Traven (Speed) and Jack is often a nickname for John. These are just some of the movies where he is named John (ones I've seen & remember offhand).
Yeah, the only person that did a better devil is Al Pacino, unironically another movie starring Reeves

The hospital scene plays out like a video game and I LOVED IT!

When it came out in theaters for the first time, I watched it, loved it and when the movie ended I went straight to the ticket counter to book a ticket for a 2nd viewing.
I truly hope they dont mess up the sequel.

Well at least Constantine has the summoning jutsu power. Yes you guys never heard of this movie because it was underrated. Theres also another movie called "devils advocate" if you guys don't mind reacting to that but I think that was more popular i thought it was underrated too. Luci here is seriously the best actor I have ever seen who plays the role of lucifer. Even if they didnt show him turning skin red and a red tail and a horn. Thumbs up.

Constantine is a really cool DC character I wish he got more attention lol there's also some great DC animated films with him in it and Matt Ryan plays him in that and the tv show he had which was also good
Arrow had some really cool storylines and parallel side tales. One of the storylines had Constantine in it. He was a guest in a few episodes for a few seasons, and in other CW Arrowverse shows. His character is very interesting. He sort of does have powers, as he uses mystical, spiritual, and power endowed objects to create spells or perform rituals. “Master of the Occult,” is a title he’d use for himself. He’s sarcastic and cocky too. Lol!

If you want to see more of this style Keanu acting, you really need to watch Man of Tai Chi. It's actually my favorite Keanu movie and criminally underrated. No one ever seems to have heard of it and the first time I watched it, I was blown away.
I adore this movie, I saw it in theathres when in came out and I've been a huge fan ever since! It's the reason I fell in love with the occult and demonology as well as Tilda Swinton and why I love a cool all white outfit like hers and Lucifer. When I say ''fell in love'' I mean, became interested so happy there's finally gonna be a sequel cause this movie did not get the credit it deserves!! So happy you got to see this gem!!

Probably one of the best, if not the best, DC comic movie of all time, imo.
You missed the ends credits scene where Chas get resurrected as an angel.
We're not stupid, we don't the movie throwing all the facts at our faces! I think it's even better leave a slight mystery, some Easter eggs, and release them as curiosity after the movie, this makes me intrigued, and even want to see the movie again to pick up parts I may have missed!
One of the best super hero movies ever even when is not lore accurate. They don't make it like this anymore.
Loved this movie when it came out and was so surprised many people talked shit about it. It had cool transitions and cool weapons and just cool and accurate depections of angels, demons and the devil was just amazing!

The series with Matt Ryan was so good, too. Watch it if you find it. 13 episodes. We still want more of it 8.5 years later.

This movie drops so many clues to Chaz's secret ANGELIC nature, like...
...John treats Chaz like crap because he knows what he is.
Chaz can see the demon in the mirror that drops on his taxi without being effected by it.
Chaz can't get into the neutral club because he's not neutral.
Chaz knows tons of demonic lore.
Chaz made the Holy shotgun shells.
Chaz blesses the water.
Chaz blesses the woman with a prayer and is then killed.
And according to biblical lore humans can go to Heaven but they CAN'T become Angels. So Chaz appearing as an angel literally means he was one the whole time.
Now, if you rewatch the movie, knowing this about Chaz ahead of time, you'll see it all more clearly.
Chaz isn't an angel. He's a regular person.
1) Chaz doesn't see the demon in the mirror because the mirror is facing upwards towards the sky, not downwards towards Chaz
2) Chaz can't get into Midnight's Club because he doesn't have *any* supernatural ability, mindreading included.
3) Chaz collected books on demonography and mythology. We see the books on his dashboard in the car.
4) The shotgun shells are made from silver stamped with the image of the cross on them, something a exorcist like Chaz would've known
Lastly, Chaz is an exorcist-in-training. Most exorcists are ordained in the eyes of the church, which means he could create holy water, give people their last rites and all that stuff. He's basically a priest. That, and his resurrection as an Archangel is from Catholicism. Basically, godly people and innocents who die are martyred and are resurrected in Heaven to serve god as they once did. Chaz becoming an Arch Angel to help Constantine and keep tabs on him makes sense, given how the last Angel we seen (Gabriel) was cast out, lost their wings and can now feel pain.

Just finished watching the reactions to Constantine and Point Break. Another good Keanu movie to check out is The Devils Advocate. Keanu Reeves, Al Pacino and Charlize Theron. And it's a little scary and creepy.

Cats are good or evil in Ancient Cultures. Nigerians don't like cats because they think they are evil. In Ancient Egypt, cats were seen as good look, preventing evil spirits from entering the home and guardians in the afterlife. That's why in The Mummy, the cat terrified Imhotep until he fully formed because he was technically dead and able to cross over while dead, he was still a spirit.

Keanu Reeves said that Constantine was his favorite character, and would love to play him again. Well it is happening Constantine 2 should be out late 2024, early 2025.
Cats are not demonic lol. This movie says they're half in and half out of our world. The Mummy says they are the guardians of the Underworld. And old Egypt used to worship them (I think they also believed they guided you to the After-Life). If you've ever done LSD, you should be able to understand cats 😂 I have 2 and both of my girls each have 4! 🥰
