Summer 1988 and your mom has just rented the coolest new game for your Kingbit Entertainment System. As you play over the course of the day it becomes apparent something is different about this game than the other games you own.
Duck Season is a throwback to the golden age of 1980's gaming and movies with a hint of horror in a Spielburgian universe. Re-live a slice of childhood as you transported to an eerily familiar memory and play out the dark story that unfolds over a single day/night as your imagination takes over.

If you think about it, this game can go two ways. You can either scream your ass off by shooting the dog, or you could just play the game normally and play VR Duck Season.
Never thought I'd say this, but it's a lot more fun to shoot the dog.

Stress Level Zero had no idea what they would eventually accomplish with VR. Even this old game still stands as a good horror game.

I love how the start of the trailer is mainly quite normal. It makes it seem like it is just dunk hunt in vr. But suddenly it changes to some insane horror story and you realise this game isn't messing around.They did a great job of this in the first trailer too

Yo Tengo That game came out more than a week after Duck Season was released. I like to call this horror sub-genre “deceitful horror,” games that start out as one thing, mostly innocent, but then turn horror later on. The classic example is Eversion, a Super Mario Bros. esque platformer that starts out cute but slowly turns disturbing and dark. After that, we got Luna Games, Spooky’s House of Jumpscares, Pony Island and now these two games.

It looked great, but confusing concept of game, horror or what? It was constant scene after scene every second, I couldn't understand what I was looking at it was going too fast, while fit the pace of the music.
DEFCON1GAMRS , while I haven't played this, of course, I think it's going to be a horror game with what seem to be some pretty surreal and nightmarish elements in it. At least that's what I got from this trailer, but who knows at this point?
Now they should do a vr Commander Keen where everything eerily looks like costumed people and toys. With walking locomotion and jumping by launching the character with a grenade throw like targeting system that allows you to fall onto and stomp enemies.

@DEFCON1GAMRS - tl;dr: The first 30 minutes of the game are an amazing Duck Hunt clone/experience, with surreal undertones hinting at something sinister happening before all hell eventually breaks loose.
Loads of replayability, excellently executed, controls are super tight and responsive, 9/10 would recommend. Would be 10/10 but there is a sequence that was hyper-disorienting for no real discernibly necessary reason and added nothing to the sequence that couldn't already be gathered from context clues.

SPOILER: You're playing the game like normal when all of a sudden after beating a level you turn around and it's dark with your mom brutally murdered in the kitchen and everything goes to shit from then on out.

Holy fuck! This is a horror game? I played this for a good 30 minutes with sunshine, rainbows, and happiness. Then my world got turned sideways. I must say, I almost crapped my pants several time. 10/10 would shit my pants again.

Welp I bought the game a few hours ago. I shot the dog. Officialy was the most horrifying game of my life, still havnt completed I had to quick cause I was full on shaking. Best VR game to date!

looks like a psychological-horror shooting game, or something along those lines.

The game has I think around 8 endings, it can change depending on what the player does. So if the player follows through the game normally, it will not be considered horror but just a normal duck shooting game, however lets say the player shoots the dog while in the game, it changes the path and things start changing rapidly.

I saw a gameplay, and i was like "oh cool game! It has mini-games on it!" But when the youtuber (8bit ninja) saw the dog in the pictures i and the youtuber were like "im not okay with this" and when he saw the cassete 12 and saw the mother dead i was like "OMG THIS GAME IS SPOOPY IM OUT OF HERE!"

I consider myself a horror junkie. It takes quite a bit to make me uncomfortable let alone scared but christ something about this game freaks me the fuck out. It crosses that uncanny valley and genuinely scares me. Never been scared of costumes but if that thing came at me while duck hunting, the only thing it would be retrieving are my hands. Great job~
