That's a great model. Honestly I think your best bets for a face would be either the Take Along Duke or the Ertl Duke. But I suppose there's no real point in looking for one of them if you have a face in mind. Anyway, love the NG Models you've been doing recently and I can't wait to see more.
IMHO the warping on the model gives it more character and adds to Duke being an older engine who's probably picked up some dents in his time and summarily been repaired.
If you want a more accurate Bachmann Rheneas I recommend using T Doc's 009 Rheneas shell, it's more model series accurate and doesn't have the CGI features, plus with a face and truth be told a already kidna accurate chassis you basically have the perfect Rheneas, I've actually never seen anyone attempt this before so something to think about for sure!
Nice custom dude, and for the yellow-ish face there is a technique that you can do to restore the plastic to its original color. Take a bottle of hydrogen- peroxide 3% solution, put the face in a small container and fill it with the solution. Find a very sunny spot outside and place it there and leave it for a while. Note, you have to wash the face with soap first to clean off any finger oils. It has to be done on a sunny day, mid-day is most effective. You'll have to check it periodically and pop any bubbles that form in it. I hope this helps.
The colour kinda makes him look like Bertram... Suggestion for another model is Smudger, should be fairly straightforward but I bet there'll be something to askew the building process
I don't know why, but for some reason, I think Duke might be one of my favorite characters. I honestly don't know why, but it's probably because he's the most interesting out of all the narrow gauge engines. I can only imagine if he was in the HIT era. Although I'm honestly glad he's not in it because his character would have been ruined miserably just like Skarloey and Rheneas. And let's just say; "That would never suit his Grace!"
Love your content, I envy your train making skills. I want to get a narrow gauge section on my layout and was wondering were you buy 009 gauge track and locomotives from
It's a good thing your brown wasn't darker than it is. Otherwise, he would have wound up looking more like Bertram By the way, are you going to do a model of Mighty Mac?
How good are you at working with the electrical stuff like the motor and pickups? It might be possible to just change out the motor, but I'm no expert.
Hello!!😃 I LOVE your custom trains!! But I do have a QUESTION when you built your BACHMAN Salty what was the name of the website you got the parts from!? BYEEEEEEEEEE!
I love this character, I really wanted him for my layout, but it's 00 gauge track and 009 are N gauge track, So I'm getting a chassis and printing off a body for him sometime this christmas,
I did it. 2 months later, and I'm getting ready to start painting him up, Haven't decided on a Livery yet and I need to change a coupling piece to make the spacing a little better, But I cant wait,
A "model series accurate" motor gives this model some character!
True man, but it’s making me wonder if THAT accuracy is worth it lol! 🤣
I've got a Hornby Terrier that HATES badly soldered track joints, so I'm familiar with choppy running.
@@SodorTrain1225 I like duke.
Engines come engines go
GRANDPUFF GOES ON FOREVER!!!!
Whatever are you engines coming too?
You should make sir handel next, then buy the bachman peter Sam to have all 4 of the mid sodor guys (including smudger)
That's a great model. Honestly I think your best bets for a face would be either the Take Along Duke or the Ertl Duke. But I suppose there's no real point in looking for one of them if you have a face in mind.

I’d say give it a little time and some more improvements, and hopefully it will suit his grace
IMHO the warping on the model gives it more character and adds to Duke being an older engine who's probably picked up some dents in his time and summarily been repaired.
“That would never suit his grace!”
“Are you a vandal? Driver told me about vandals!”
Great custom as always TrainBoy! I’m working on some RWS characters myself.
I needed this in my life, I am feeling inspired to complete my rws 16 model
Bulldog was one of the first classic series Thomas episode I ever watched. This is a fine site to behold, nice one TB
How about a Bertrum custom? Could look good side-by-side with Duke.
A railway series Petersam would be cool. Nice Duke btw love it sitting next to Duncan maybe he can talk some sense into that rock and rolling 😂
I swear your narrow gauge customs are the best

This guy better make his own thomas and friends model show like the og thomas . His models are so fricking dope and need to be shown more in a series!
0:45 Awdry already had you beat.
Just what I needed to make my day better

probably one of your best models yet!
DUKEY!! Great custom trainboy!
Thank you so much! :)
That'll suit his grace, I am sure!
You’ve done a smashing job on this guy thus far.
That model will most definitely suit his grace
One day I want to get into modeling
Earliest I've been for one of your videos! I'm a big fan of Duke and I would like to attempt a custom like this one day!
The colour kinda makes him look like Bertram...
Suggestion for another model is Smudger, should be fairly straightforward but I bet there'll be something to askew the building process
The hero we deserve
This suites his grace just fine

I think for me it is not only his character,
But also the fact that he has both a tank and a tender.

Bachman sell peter Sam and the other narrow gauge engines. I’m sure you will find plenty.
@@edwinsalisbury83 thank you, its hard to know where to get the right stuff from
It's a good thing your brown wasn't darker than it is. Otherwise, he would have wound up looking more like Bertram
By the way, are you going to do a model of Mighty Mac?
Duke is my favorite narrow gauge engine!
Agreed! He’s iconic! :)
@@ItsTrainBoy Any advice for a beginner model railroader?
A Fearless Freddie custom would be epic
When the Kato Prince comes out, will you do a review?
Engines come, engines go...
*GRANDPUFF GOES ON FOREVER!*
I can’t freaking wait for Edison in a few weeks
Me when i train boy uploads here in 16 seconds
Duke is looking good.
Duke Is my favourite Narrow Gauge engine 🤩
"Engines come, Engines go,
Grandpuff can't come because he has erectile disfunction"
You know I remember you were making a prince as mentioned in your community tab
How good are you at working with the electrical stuff like the motor and pickups? It might be possible to just change out the motor, but I'm no expert.
Looks great ! The only suggestion I have is to use a nakayoshi face
Another amazing video mate. I’ve been tempted to make my own ‘Duke’ as well and now after watching your video, I reckon I could give it a good go.
I love Duke😊
This part was practically magic railroad opening 0:55
ok, u know what. that looks great.
Hello!!😃
I LOVE your custom trains!! But I do have a QUESTION when you built your BACHMAN Salty what was the name of the website you got the parts from!?
BYEEEEEEEEEE!
"We've found our sleeping beauty!"
When you post and a lot of the first comments are nothing but "first":
Either way,I'm excited to see this!
Honestly could be Bertram
With the an easy change of face he is lmao
I wish I could buy the files for these prints since I have a resin printer, but I do understand why they wouldn't do that. Great job on the model.
I would like to see you make Skarloey or Sir Handel:)
if you're taking suggestions, i suggest making a sir handel. i think he'd be a nice fit with duke and duncan
If he keeps it up, he can make a shot for shot remake of the television series
I’m considering making a Percy custom.. I’m new to repainting OO/HO gauge models so do you, Trainboy, have any tips?
great video
Since its his name, I always imagine Duke sounding like John Wayne
Yaay GRANDPUFF!
why don't you add contacts in dukes tender/ i added contacts in my own tomix s.c.ruffy model and hooked it up to my tomix percy and he ran much better
That's totally cool hun!
You should try making some 009 Rollingstock like coaches or trucks
This would suit his grace
Since bachmann are releaseing a double Fairlie will you make mighty mack
That’s awesome!! 😎
are you planning to make all the narrow gauge engines
Wow grandpuf was found!
Its great! just that yellowish face seems off to me but its a great model
Oh cool!
Cool video dude
Train boy did you use the crushed up coal idea from the unlucky tug
Nah, I’ve done that since I modeled Trackmaster trains as a kid we just use the similar methods
It's me!
I love this character,

Sir top hat is getting ready for war
Can the next one be a custom emily also love your vids man
Great vid
Hi train boy. I just get idea if you dont want to do Mighty Mack. IT Can be cool
Do you buy the print or do you print it yourself on shapeways
its perfect
Would you make Luke? He would be easy and cheap to make
Maybe eventually, is there a shell of him made?
@@ItsTrainBoy well n scale/oo9 kerr stuart wren shells already exist and chassis for that shell don't cost a lot
"Fuss pot fuss pot Fuddy duddy Fuddy duddy".
you should do skarloey or Rhnease
Take out his Tender, replace his face, and you got yourself a Bertram
Awesome
Wow amazing
next you
Should make an MSR Albert
"Excuse me" enquired duke " Are you a vandal?
not bad but if you could the ertl duke face is the perfict size for him
I wish that you did made 009 scale Sir handel
I bought a princess with dcc and sound thinking about getting it customized to a Duke.
Edit: or just buy another one.
Duke is a jukebox
I watched this while eating a sandwich.
the choppy motor might mean that the gears need lubricated.
Time for sir Handel.
I think you should make stanley next
Yeaaah
George Carlin did a great job narrating Duke's episodes. It gives them such gravitas Michael Angelis didn't match in my opinion.
Yes
I want a Bachman duke! 😧
Duke looks cute but his face is interesting
