After the _official Sunday_ numbers were tabulated, Furiosa DID manage to eke out ahead of IF for the second-place bragging rights. Still, not only is it a big letdown, the lackluster numbers may have seriously jeopardized the next Mad Max saga ("Wasteland") coming to cinematic life.
I think it's because people prefer watching movies at home because at the movie theaters it's now expensive these days
Unfortunately, people have been conditioned to stay at home.
I think Bad Boys 4 will be #1 & Watchers will be #2 next weekend. I wanna see Watchers.
Poor George Miller he deserves better with all the amount of work he puts in his films gosh dang it.
I went to see Garfield on Friday and I absolutely loved it. Very cute.
Mad max previews, just looks like some people fighting with dirt bikes lol , Nobody's in a rush to see Chris after that horrific love and thunder performance. I can't wait to see Bad Boys!!!!!
I’m looking forward to Watchers. Definitely going to the theater for that one.
I'm predicting Bad Boys Ride or Die will make $55 million dollars opening weekend the same amount as The Flash (2023). It should have better legs than The Flash tho.
I think it’s a combination of both the pandemic and the rise of streaming like seeing a big new release doesn’t feel as much exciting as it used to be before pandemic and also everything being expensive now like seeing a film is like a lot now only cheap day is on a Tuesday like ahhhh
It’s because movies are almost immediately released to streaming while still being in theaters. If they released them on digital and streaming at the same time they’re released on DVD it will improve the box office
June might not be terrible, but overall any more months like May and something drastic is going to need to happen. Really looking forward to July, Despicable Me 4, Maxxxine and Deadpool & Wolverine. Already bought my ticket for D&W, I even dropped an extra couple of bucks to see it in 3D.
I have movie pass in London but could not sit though a movie with will smith
I just think that people are not going to the movies like they used to. I’m going to see the Watchers.

Saw Garfield 3d Saturday afternoon probably around 10 people in large theater. I saw it in 3d since i enjoy 3d and they don't release stuff in 3d blu ray much in US versions. Wasn't impressed with Garfield. I prefer the Dead dont Hurt that opened this weekend

The Days of the Billion Dollar Blockbuster are over. It has to be Organic, ie Barbie/Oppenheimer. It's summer kids just outta school, vacations and just decompression. Will "I'll slap your @$$" Smith will get $30 million maybe for BB. Watchers might take the #1 spot if the horror people come out in droves. Have a great week everyone, from Tampa Florida. #mamabluray
Going to the movies just isn't enjoyable for a variety of reasons. And $50 themed popcorn buckets isn't going to fix that. Nor is adding more commercials and trailers before 2 to 3 hour movies with bad cgi and poor storytelling.
Then someone should tell hollyweird to create something new instead of feeding off franchises/sequals and Prequals with their woke political ideology inserted💯💯💯 I'm curious about Bad boys, Does will Smith still have that Oscar Slap Stank on him that people haven't forgotten.. or have they🤔🤔 that could cripple the film.
The original movies that are released don't make money either, so that can't really be used as a reason.
