I am fatally allergic to peanuts like Ethan, and I've been hospitalised from it twice because of my grandmother. She thinks that giving me peanuts in my food will build up a tolerance against it, so she has secretly put peanuts in a sandwich or something.
I am no longer allowed to visit my grandparents without my parents with mw
i hate people like that. People who think people with allergies are just being picky and "oh just try one, don't be so fussy!" should be on a list, i feel like that's attempted murder

When Ethan started talking about how literally anyone (or himself) could easily kill him bc of his allergy, I started thinking about a book that I own that’s basically a murder mystery. Some kid died bc there was some peanut oil on a paper cup that he drank water from in a classroom and the five kids in there were suspects.
I’ll put a spoiler warning here for the book’s ending, just in case. Btw, it’s called One of Us Is Lying. Pretty good too.
In the end, it’s discovered that the kid basically killed himself through his peanut allergy and purposefully tried to set up each kid for his murder so each of their secrets (I.e. selling drugs while on probation, cheating on a test, etc) would be caught while investigating them since he didn’t like them for one reason or another.
