When Ethan started talking about how literally anyone (or himself) could easily kill him bc of his allergy, I started thinking about a book that I own that’s basically a murder mystery. Some kid died bc there was some peanut oil on a paper cup that he drank water from in a classroom and the five kids in there were suspects. I’ll put a spoiler warning here for the book’s ending, just in case. Btw, it’s called One of Us Is Lying. Pretty good too. In the end, it’s discovered that the kid basically killed himself through his peanut allergy and purposefully tried to set up each kid for his murder so each of their secrets (I.e. selling drugs while on probation, cheating on a test, etc) would be caught while investigating them since he didn’t like them for one reason or another.

I remember this one guy tell me a story of a teacher he had in Jr. High trying force him to eat her salsa but refused to tell anyone the ingredients since you know a secret recipe thing. He is allergic to onions and was also annoyed at her so he took a chip an a small cup of salsa and said "call the ambulance" and ate it then was sent to the hospital this was a drastic way to get out of school.
