    (not) FUN FACT: Menstrual Product Absorbency Wasn't Studied Realistically until Late 2023. The absorbency level displayed on the box was most likely only tested in saline solution (salt + water), which anyone who has seen blood ever can tell you; not quite the same thing. So actually this silly little video has done more scientific research on absorption than some actual companies that actually sell those products.

      It amazes me (when it really shouldn't at this point) how neglectful,biased, and ignorant male scientists are and how much the patriarchy has tampered with archeology, chemistry, biology, and so many countless things throughout history that have convinced us all of so many lies about the difference between genders. So fucked up man. Anyway I hope more diversity in those fields will help us find truths and discoveries that help us all, not just men.

    Two things I learned about Ethan:
    1. Man *loves* vagina. He definitely is the type to dote, which is likely why this video happened.
    2. I want to see more videos like these where he just points out the blatant flaws in products for women.
    Like, he's doing this video because he's secure in his relationship, and he's likely heard enough complaints about female products to have an informed opinion.
    Using bbq sauce and motor oil to test a tampon kinda shook me with it's subtle genius. All the other types of videos like this, they try to make periods look pretty and alien.
    Ethan is like: "Nah, I want to find the Sham-Wow of tampons. Bring me some primordial tar."

      @@HandlesAreSlightlyIrritatingi mean that kinda means nothing (well as much as it can when no one cites anything). Like just because toxic metals are everywhere doesn't mean the metals being there are safe. What it would mean is that scientists would need to see if tampons leech metals into the blood stream and how much. Though i don't think it matters how much for lead, as i think milligrams or less matter for that to be toxic. But i didn't fact check the lead toxicity thing. I do think that the toxic metals even being there means government authorities need to be involved and make sure there isn't a safety issue. Like there are definitely metals that aren't as toxic but we should make damn sure that toxic amounts of metal aren't leeching into people bodies because we assume it was safe. Like being worried about metal leaking into your body if there is lead in them is, i feel, a pretty damn good reason to worry and do something about it if you can.

      if you mean the heavy metals thing, a lot of it is fearmongering. basically all cotton (and plants grown in general tbh) contains traces because its in the soil of agricultural fields, including cotton used for wound care and clothing. the amounts are so small they really aren't any worse for us than the pollutants and microplastics we get from every other second of living. so if you like tampons, using them isn't gonna kill you any quicker than this meat prison of a life already is

    • @CheshieD
      @CheshieD 5 месяцев назад +14

      Hello fellow double uterus haver. I have mine because I have one kidney. I found out about mine because one side was closed off and herniated with 10 months worth of stuff. I couldn’t use tampons (to much ptsd due to all the medical trauma) so I was stuck with pads. When they opened up my right uterus, and it drained out the old stuff, I ended up bleeding every single day even while on birth control. I eventually started depo and haven’t had a period in like 8 years but god do I not miss those times. I was so embarrassed for like half of high school because I bled through my pants several times (and nobody ever told me either).
      There should be a lot more research into reproductive anatomy as a whole. Maybe people nowadays born with one kidney could at least have the heads up that they could have an extra uterus, and to look out for it.
