Land of our fathers, we will always be
Faithful and loyal to our own country.
In times of danger, we will set you free.
Bring you to glory and to victory.
Hail, Caledonia, to our ancient prayer
In this Highland Cathedral, let our standards, bear
Joining, together, with one dream to share
God bless our people of this land so fair.
Gone is the past, let us start anew.
Let this hope of peace, always remain.
Spirit of Scotia, be strong and true
Then your children will smile again, again, again, again...
Rise, Caledonia, let your voices ring
In this Highland Cathedral of our God and King.
Whom, joy and liberty, to all, will bring.
Come; let your heart, with love and courage, sing...
    ... (Instrumental)
Spirit of Scotia, be strong and true.
Then your children will smile again, again, again, again...
Rise, Caledonia let your voices ring
In this Highland Cathedral of our God and King.
Whom, joy and liberty to all will bring.
Come; let your heart with love and courage sing...
    ... (Instrumental)
Rise, Caledonia let your voices ring
In this Highland Cathedral of our God and King.
Whom, joy and liberty to all will bring.
Come; let your heart with love and courage sing...
Come; let your heart with love
    And courage sing.

This has to be Scotlands National Anthem to replace that Flower of Scotland dirge and Scotland the Brave. Both of which are good but Highland Cathedral has the passion, stirring lyrics and creates that wonderful feeling when you feel the hair rise at the back of your neck. Best heard with the Pipes and Drums and if you are Scottish, it sums up what this great country and its people are about.

agree but the flower has war significance and more of a pre football battle cry like 4 proud provinces of shiterland

I'm with Matt there. FoS is no dirge --- but DO NOT let the tempo slow. Keep a strong fast beat. And face it, SWH' has the advantage of being writ by Scotland's national poet. Brethren, it's _all_ in the delivery. Don't allow it to sink into plodding ritual utterance.

If you have to make it 'sound the pibroch,' do.

Make this song the official Anthem when Scotland is free and independent. Hopefully sooner than later.
