I am reviewing a hall effect keyboard as we speak! Sadly, these hall effect keyboards typically lack the ergonomic features in their software. Different audience, different priorities.
My goal is to focus on that with all keyboards some more. The configuration software determines _so much_ of the keyboard experience that I am very surprised why other reviews don't spend the time on it. Thanks for making the keyboard!
I really appreciate the hard work that goes into the UHK series kbs even though I do not own one. Please continue innovating and showing your passion for these projects!
Nice video, but I get a bit of seasick with that crazy steep perspective ;-) not a real problem -- content is far more important than shiny lights in the background and such. P.S.: It is really not that easy to get the camera straight above the keyboard. I have a shelf where I can mount the camera holder, but most won't have.
Yeah I'm using the Elgato webcam for keyboard recording which is why there's some light shake. My attitude here is that I prefer to just make some calm recordings and not overdo it with a rig. I have a small desk in my attic, so this approach seems to be a nice 20/80 situation for the time being.
Don't wanna be negative but, I think, It's not really a game changer. Just vim motions and a little bit of keymaping with Via will get all things I want.
If VIA gives you all you need, by all means keep on using that! I would say though that VIA won't get you the same level of mouse control, it may not give you split/tenting stuff and it also does not allow you to do adjust the timing of the hold/trigger presses. Also stuff like tap-dancing, where a double-tap triggers something else, is also something that isn't supported in VIA. VIA is great if it fits, but it is also a bit limited in my experience now that I've used other boards.
How so? I agree that the extra buttons are nice, but the software for the mouse support is lacking on Dygma side. Not to mention that Dygma's software has gotten plenty of criticism because of its bugs and the fact that UHK has expension modules for the mouse as well.
@calmcode-io Raise 2 is the new, updated version, also with expansion, modular for full repairability, wireless, Bluetooth, removable, magnetic wrist rests, better software by now as well etc.
imagine how OP this would be on a hall effect keyboard... Thank you so much for making this video, I will be exploring the topic more!

Thanks for your review! Really enjoyed it, and it showcases Agent very well.

Good to see your video again haha.
More to come!

That overhead camera angle is 10% upside down and disorienting.
Newer videos fix that, duly noted.

@@calmcode-io I understand. Great content, keep it up 👏
Probably the next step is ortholinear split ergo 🤓
There are some steps in between, but yeah, totally!
Dygma Raise 2 looks superior in every way.

@calmcode-io go look at the new version of the Raise and all the features it has...
