The perfect miter saw bench includes drawers, a stop system for repeatable cuts and a perfectly flat surface to cut on. Well, at least in our shop that is the perfect miter saw bench. Each shop and each individual will have to decide what is perfect for their uses and shop. If you are building a miter saw bench, we have free plans for you to see how we built our miter saw bench and to possibly give you ideas for yours. Our bench is made with a combination of metal and wood to give us the strength we wanted and the ability to have a very flat bench for a long period of time. We opted not to lower the miter saw in the bench, but to use the drawer system to create more storage and bring the deck up to the height of our saw. Everyone has their own way of designing and building what they want.
Our Miter Saw Bench Plans are broken up into two sets of instructions. We first build the bench out of a combination of metal and wood. Some might stop there or slightly adjust those plans to work for them. We also have the second set of plans that detail our wings with storage. This second set could be used to build this on your existing bench or other area you already have set up. This set includes the Kreg Trak and Stop system and an adjustable fence to make sure you are perfectly in line with your miter saw fence.
I been a woodworker for 40 years, I stopped a few years back getting on in years I"m glad to see young men still working wood. Very nice job on the Kreg Track and stop system.
Planning the same fence build with knobs and threaded inserts which is why I watched. I'm planning on cutting the slots for the hold down knobs long enough to move the fence forward enough to allow for alignment with a 3/4 auxiliary (zero clearance) fence when I need it.
looks very well done and well thought out. Great narration and I love the use of the steel for the base. Great work!
Very nice. You made the welding look simple. Keep up the good videos. It is really enjoyable to see your workshop being built from scratch.
Nice work, definitely can tell a lot of work went into this.
Very nice build, Andy. Although a vast majority of people would just use wood for the frame/base, and would consider the steel overkill, especially for a miter saw station, I really LIKE that you used steel. I may re-do mine with steel as well. Looks like you got the hang of welding pretty quickly too. Kudos for an awesome build, and for the inspiration to re-do my station... :-)
Great job, you make everything look so easy. I don't have the welding tools do think it would work just building this out of regular lumber , maybe just beefy support frames.
Terrific station, I now see why Festool rails protrude from the front lol 👍👍👍
NICE SET-UP ANDY! GREAT USE OF WOOD AND METAL!
Nice job. Can't wait to see the cabinets. Good for you for trying something new and challenging yourself (welding).
Thanks! -andy
Just subscribed to your channel. I loved this vid, very easy to follow, design is great. The installation explanation for the Kreg gear is the best I've heard/seen. Will be building my mitre saw station in the coming weeks, will be using a lot of your ideas. Thanks man :-)
Nice shop and well thought out project.
Great well made video. Make some more.
Very nice! I'll do in my workshop same stuff too!
Great video. thank you.
Well done, great project from start to end
Thank you!
nice build.
Nice work.
Love it.
really nice. I've got a massive 12 inch ridgid sliding miter saw. I need a station. which will have to be massive. at least width wise
What counter sink bit do you use?
Where did you get that aluminum square? AWESOME
Nice video Andy. Do you have enough side to side clearance to cut 45 degree angles without the lever touching the front of the miter saw station?
Thanks for sharing. That is a really gorgeous looking station. I noticed the Kreg measure stopped at the mitre saw turntable, so how do you hope to cut measured short pieces inside of the saw turntable? Do you use a 10 inch piece of stock to bridge the gap and subtract it from the tape reading?
Or just measure and mark the wood.
...very time consuming measuring each piece if a large number of small pieces have to be cut.
I would move the RHS tape a further 10 inches away and make a 10 inch stop that moves to the blade.
man, I've never seen a big square like that with the t and the bottom. did you make it or buy it?
Approximate weight for the steel base and the wings?
Would you mind telling me what metal chop saw and blade you are using in this video?
Imraz Khan Skilsaw Metal Miter saw with a Diablo Cermet Two carbide blade.

Can you do a shop tour before and after
In the future
why no drawer slides?
good build be careful breathing that mdf dust
what's the name of the roller you use to spread your glue?
It is an ink brayer. Purchased from hobby lobby or Amazon.
+WorkshopAddict thanks
Andy do you have enough clearance when you turn the saw fully left or right so you don't hit your knuckles? I like the metal frame that will make everything nice and flat. I'm guessing you will secure the legs with more than one tech screw once the cabinets are built? Workshop addict link www.workshopaddict.com
Yes sir on both questions
Extremely hella metal frame 👍 How much $ did those tubes cost you, if you don't mind my asking?
