Completing Dominican Republic's E-TICKET Form

In an effort to optimize passenger entry and exit process in the country, as well as help reduce the spread of COVID-19, the Dominican Republic has implemented a new electronic system combining digital versions of the Traveler’s Health Affidavit, Customs Declaration, and International Boarding/Disembarking forms, in one single digital form. This is called the Electronic Ticket Portal, or E-Ticket. As of September 1, 2021, the use of this digital form has been mandatory. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Please find a quick guide and some frequently asked questions below to prepare travelers for their next trip to the Dominican Republic:
1. Where can I access E-TICKET platform?
To access the E-ticket platform, you must visit this link: eticket.migrac... available in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Russian. The form will ask for general information such as your passport number, residence address, and the address of where you will be staying while in the Dominican Republic, as well as general customs information and a traveler’s health affidavit. Passengers will need to fill out a form for arrival and another one for departure and the system will generate two QR codes. Dominican airports have free internet access so that passengers who did not fill out the form before flying can do so when they arrive in the country. To save time during the arrival procedure, we recommend filling out the form 72 hours before the trip, printing or making a screenshot of the QR code and keeping it on hand until arrival, where it will be scanned by the authorities when passengers go through Customs. The QR code will not be scanned during departure, but it is a confirmation that the form was completed correctly.
2. When traveling with family, does each member have to complete their own form?
Families traveling together can complete a single form including information of each family member (up to 7 people in total). The Migration and Public Health forms must be completed for both adults and children traveling; however, only adults are required to complete the Customs Declaration. Once submitted, a single QR code will be generated for the entire family.
3. What happens if the form is not completed before the trip?
We recommend filling out the form 72 hours before the flight; however, Dominican airports have free wireless internet access so that passengers who did not fill out the form before flying can do so when they arrive in-country. It is essential to complete the form before going through Migration.
4. What happens if once the form is submitted, travel plans change?
If travel plans change after the form has been submitted, the form will have to be completed again. The last form submitted will be taken into account.

This is a very helpful video - thank you. I have filled it in today. In case others are interested - It took me 20 minutes (for me and 2 adult sons on the one form) and was not difficult. (i) At the end you are given a QR code which I have printed but you cannot download the whole form you complete so do not have a record of your answers as far as I can see, unless you can log in and retrieve the form but I could not easily see how to do that. That is not a problem as ( just as when you fill customs forms on a plan) e you do not keep a copy of your answers. (ii) You need a flight code not just the flight number. BA my airline send that with your eticket receipt calling it a "booking reference". I had to do a few google searches before I could work out if that booking reference number was the right number/code. I think it is also called a PCR number. You will be completing this form before you have the flight ticket in many cases (eg with my air line we cannot check in until day before and I completed the form 2 days before) so make sure you know that number - a lot of the google searches were saying the number will be on your flight ticket (but I do not have the flight ticket yet).
The rest was really easy. you obviously need passport numbers for all those in your group (I did one form for the 3 of us).
I just did the form to enter the country, not leave. I believe you have to do another when leaving but I will do that whilst abroad so as not to complicate the system.. The eticket you get at the end says fecha de emision which I had to look up as I was worried it was giving the wrong date of our trip - it gives today's date when I completed the form, not the date we go. However a google search of the Spanish to translate that made it clear that that just means the date filling in the form I am y sure I would have given the correct travel date but as you cannot print the form when you finish it is not easy to check your earlier answers. There may well be a log in to retrieve a copy of your form which I have not bothered to look for. I have kept the code at the start they give you which I believe can be used to log back in but I never needed to use it. I have printed it out and saved it as I do being a very careful person. I have also emailed the QR code eticket to the other 2 of us and printed it 3 times so people have it on phones and paper for when we arrive.
It was a very easy process and am not sure why I was worried about it beforehand. It was easier than having to do the form on the plane after a 10 hour flight. In my case in the past that was often when travelling with 5 children and a husband so I had to fill in SEVEN people's information on a cramped seat with children all around me, finding 7 passports on the plane, This new system is much easier to fill in in advance from home before you go.
I am the same poster. Lots of us were not very happy British airways when we boarded in London made everyone complete two forms for each person even though we had done it electronically! They strongly advised it but I think they were just out of date. One man was very cross and I wasn't that happy as the whole point of doing it before is you do not have all that problem on a plane of getting the whole family's passports out, flightnumbers, hotel address, Instead we had the worst of all worlds - doing it before and then yet again on the plane. Anyway we did not want to risk BA knowing something we did not so all followed their advice but on arrival at DR I just showed our eticket QR code and did not hand over nor was asked for paper ones. I now need to decide if we log on whilst away and do it for the return as you are required to do under the DR new eticket system so I suppose I had better.
@@flamingjoe1234567 Just reporting back to everyone - I did early on during the holiday login and do the form for the return too. I did not print it out as no printer but saved it via a photograph of my computer screen. At the DR air port they asked to see it and as I had sent to the family on whatsapp as a picture one of us found it there and showed it (my phone is not good enough for these things and will not even accept the BA app!). So that does illustrate they want to see the QR code/confirmation you have done the form for the return flight too.

Hello, great video, thank you. Just one query, can you prefill the form ie name, addresses DOBs etc then return to complete re medical information 72 hours before departure? I will not have access to desktop only mobile 72 hours before so it would be great if we could complete all the general stuff in advance of leaving home.

Thank you for this information! I was not even aware of this requirement, luckily my daughter sent me the link this morning. Question, what is the point of saving the QR code on your phone if it is not even asked for when you enter or exit DR? Also do you happen to know if this e-ticket replaces the paper one you had to fill out while on the plane right before arrival?
Hi and thank you for the question. I recommend that you save it as a back up just in case the immigration official ask for it or in case they didn’t get it, etc. I’ve never had a problem after I completed it and, as a matter of fact, I never had to show it. And to answer your second question…yes, it replaces all those forms you had to fill on the plane.

Good question….use the airport code of the airport that’s taking you to DR. In this case, use EWR (assuming you have a layover at Newark before heading to DR).
Hello. On the form it’s asking me what hotel I’m staying at. I’m staying at the Karibo hotel in Punta Cana but they don’t have that hotel listed in their website. They won’t let me manually enter the hotel name, what do I do?
Pretend you're staying at a private residence, and just enter the address. I hope that helps.
I’m traveling with my family but we all don’t have the same last name . Can I still fill out just 1 form for us ? It’s 5 of us
As long as it’s the same names as in the passports you should be good

Hi Scott. Thanks for watching and for your question. It has to be at least 72 hours prior. The system won’t even let you continue otherwise.
@@TheSoloTraveler That is incorrect. No more than 72 hours prior. It is made so, in order for health symptoms information not to become outdated. In fact, even if you made a mistake, you can fill a new form right at the airport.

The Government video says 72 hours before arriving by the way, not departing so if leaving London 10am UK time for example you would need to work out arrival time in the DR and fill it in no more than 72 hours (3 days) before that. So leaving on a Friday morning, arrive Friday afternoon you would be best completing it on Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning here in the UK (and I think you can fill in the one you must fill in for your return for which you do not need a code or print out at any time - perhaps even before you leave for your holiday there?)
For days of stay do you count the day of arrival and departure? If you come in on a Saturday and leave the next Saturday do you write 8 days or 7 days?
You can if you wish but this will not have an impact.
Great video explaining departure from US to DR. What about departure from DR? I heard there is a fee to be paid at the airport if you have stayed more than 30 days. Where do I get information about this?
Hi Louise and thank you for your support and your question. With the departure, when you initially start, is the same thing, except at the beginning you will select “departure” instead of “arrival”. Regarding the $10, this is a tourist fee charged, usually by the airline when you purchase your ticket and at times at the airport.
Does it still work if you've completed it 6 days before your flight?

Hello Samra and thank you for your support. To answer your question, no, no PCR is required to go to Dominican Republic. The reason that this information is not clear is because this video is about completing the eticket exclusively, not about COVID restrictions.

As for completing the returning form can we complete it before we leave or is the 72 hours delay beaofre leaving applies? This means taht we have to complete it while being in the DR with an uncertain internet situation….
UGH!!!!!! somewhere in filling this form out; It has my first name and last name twice!!!!!!! i do not have the CODE and cannot ACCESS it... is this too much of a problem??? Everything else is correct; the passport number etc.... Just my last name is repeated twice like Jones Jones.

@@TheSoloTraveler I just filled out these documents for all 6 family members. The forms for my flight to DR has been approved. BUT for the return flight, I the embarkation as the one we re-enter the country in. Not my home airport. Is that a big deal? :-/

I thiink if you are picked for a very rare random covid test if you show the card yo do not have to have the test (I just heard on a DR video elsewhere which is relevant to me as I have not had the vaccine and indeed never had nor needed a covid test)

Flight confirmation number is definately not the same as the flight number.
If I do the eticket prior to checking into my flight cause I can't check in til 24 hrs before flight and wanted to do eticket 2 days prior but all I have is a flight number so what is a flight confirmation number and how can you do this or get this if it's only supplied at flight check in.

It looks like I can't check in online. The "Flight Conformation" field is not a required field, is it? It is not marked with an red asterisk. So can i leave this field blank? Thank you in advance
Hello Tobias and thank you for your question and support. If you bought your tickets you should have a confirmation number. If not then I suggest you call the airline and ask them. As far as leaving the confirmation field blank, it may not let you advance but unless you want to leave blank, then it’s up to you. It won’t be the end of the world if you do. This form can be completed multiple times if need be. I hope this helps, and have a great trip.

@@tobias1995 No. Regardless of how many layovers, as long as you don’t book separate flights, then you don’t have.
@@tobias1995 I was thinking the same as we are in Antigua for one hour but still on the plane. Also complicated because Antigua and DR have different covid rules but I think we are not even "in transit" in Antigua as we do not leave the plane.
So why do you have to fill one out when you leave as well and what happens if you forget to do the second one before you go do they not let you get on your flight home?
Jam, thanks for the question. As far as why we have to fill it? The answer is probably within the government and to keep track of arrivals and departures. If you forget, then you can always do it at the airport by scanning a QR code that they have available. And no, you probably won’t be able to board although I haven’t test that theory.

While trying to complete the e ticket for departure the question to add the number for days of your stay. I have extended my stay to 130 days and it only allows 120. What to do. John
Hi John. Thanks for your question. You’re supposed to complete it at least 72 hours prior to departure regardless how long you’ve been in the county and visa status.

Hi Gary, and thanks for your support. Do keep in mind that in DR, the dates are set as day/month/year. So, basically, your submission date is July 6th, 2022.

Have you tried entering your airline code instead? All airlines that flight into Dominican Republic should be listed.
Is it one for family or does everyone in the family have to file out?

Yes. If they ask at all. Since it looks like you were able to do it, you’ll be in the system and they’ll know immediately when you talk to the immigration officer. If that’s the case, they won’t even ask you for it (QR code).

Yes, 72 hours or less before arrival and departure from DR. I’m surprised it let you complete it 3 weeks prior but if you did not get an email, then try again at 72 hours. Thank you for your support.

I am a youth volunteer going on a missions trip to the DR this summer. Will each student have to fill out an E-Ticket, or as their leader can I fill one out for myself and 6 of them? (We have several other leaders that could do the same). Thanks!
Hi Nick and thanks for your support and question. You can add 6 other passengers regardless of who they are (given that you know them of course). I mentioned “family” because most people travel with family but it applies for anybody.

@@janetpayne4519 I have to retract my previous answer as there are some changes that were recently made. Now it’s only required for adults 18+ and unfortunately you won’t be able to add anybody. All 30 of you will have to complete one! I know, sorry.

What does Sección mean?
In reference to a place, it means like sector of a city. Otherwise, it literally translates to “section”.
Went to DR last week and they never even asked for this. They also never stamped my passport on the way out. Very weird.
They don’t ask for it. If you do it, it’ll come up automatically once they scan your passport, so they don’t even bother asking.

Embarkation must be the airport code. In this case, JFK

Since the form is for you, you’re already included so just add 1.
For embarkment airport do I list the very first airport on my boarding pass or do I list the last connecting flight from United States (Chicago) to Punta Cana?
If you going to PC from Chicago, then your embarking airport is ORD (assuming you’re flying out of O’Hare). When you come back, then it’s the other way around.
We fly out of a the Appleton airport and lay over in Chicago before going to Punta Cana

Yes u do, Found out i need one for February 17th and also need one to return back home to the Bahamas. But you don't have to be vaccinated to enter DR.
