When I have rented a vehicle in Santo Domingo over the past 2 years from major car rents companies, they have required me to purchase the Liability insurance everytime. They will not rent without it.

If you think that the DR is bad, you should try La Romana o Punta Cana --its worse. They actually collude with each other. Further, they lie --Uber does not charge them 35 percent, nor 60 percent --heard all kinds of numbers. It's actually closer to 25 percent. In closing, they use the platform to pick up drivers and then they either renegotiate the price or they tell you to pay cash off platform. It's disgusting. It's the only country where I've seen this.

Worse place ever spent 14days there food was horrible drinks watered down no water for 3days they gave us bottled water to wash with and toilet me and my partner had food poisoning half of the hotel had it .the pool had human waste in it most days the restaurant had water comming from the ceiling all over the food it was not shut off they carried on serving we wonted come home second day nightmare of holiday 😢would not recommend this hotel

Ive never seen a cash option on the uber app. Is that only an option in DR? Or is there some special way to let the driver know you will pay cash. Also in paying cash to the driver, am I still paying the same rate the uber app quoted me or will the driver want a different rate?

They are being shortsighted. I bet the tips would be more if thee took the Credit Card trip. Uber just needs to eliminate the cash option all together. If the drivers dont like it, they can get off the app.

Can you clarify when to complete the MIG? I am leaving out of San Francisco CA on a Thursday however I am staying in Panama City Panama for 3 days prior to proceeding onto Colombia on a separate flight . Therefore, it appears completing the MIG prior to leaving the U.S. takes me out of the 72 hour period. How do you pay for Uber with cash? I live in the US. There is no option for cash unless you load cash into your Uber cash account which would be the same thing, no? There’s no option to just pay the driver cash when he arrives.
