How to find Adam at Comic Con:
Step 1: find camera man
Step 2: find the guy in the best costume near said camera man
Step 3: talk to the coolest guy you might ever meet

It's always easy to spot Adam at a convention, because he's the only person there wearing a super accurate space suit
I know what you mean - but the "less accurate" suits were probably built with just as much passion - just a little less budget, resources and experience.

I think my favourite part of this video was the young lady who kept saying how Adam had inspired her and so many others too. I think Adam (and Jamie) have inspired millions of people, young and old and we are all very grateful!

Did Adam's voice go an octave higher??? Suit looks a little tight in the spaceballs region....
I thought the same, especially considering the fact that the astronaut's height increases after their time in space. If this suit is just worn on the trip up, this isn't applicable, but if it is worn on the trip back, the astronaut will be feeling pinch.
My guess is that the suit was measured to be without cooling vest and with the vest its too tight for adam.
That will happen with the new CT5000 series suits (Camel Toe)

Dude. This is amazing. My grandpa was a member of the US military and was always fascinated by space. He didn't try to pursue a career with NASA, but he took me to an air and space museum when I was a kid. Seeing you geek out over your suit, Adam, made me geek out in a nostalgic sort of way. Thank you.
It used to really bug me how precious and in awe of himself Adam is. But it's become a big part of his charm when you realize it's totally organic.

Gotta say, I truly enjoy watching Adam interact with the folks at the Cons. Very cool how he never breaks character, but still manages to engage each person who recognizes him, and encourages them to pursue their passions.
Adam epitomizes what I love the most about nerds (I consider myself a nerd): Doing what they want and not giving a crap about what people think. Adam is living the nerd dream, since he has the skills and resources to take it to the limit.

Adam's suits are far too complex and accurate for normal people to make. It takes someone with his experience and expertise to create such suits. That makes him a dead give-away.

My obsession with space suits actually started because of Adam's original Apollo A7L suit from the Mythbusters Moon Landing special, which I watched a decade ago. I made my first suit when I was 12 out of a Tyvek painter's suit with the appropriate patches, spray painted PVC couplings, a pair of kitchen gloves covered in grey and white duct tape, an acrylic dome for a helmet, some cardboard boxes covered in white duct tape for the PLSS pack, and some winter boots covered in (you guessed it!) duct tape. I wore it to a school dance and it actually ended up in the yearbook. I've come a long way in terms of cosplay since then, but I can owe my beginnings to you!
I aim to get over to a Comic Con one day and I can't wait! 😀

Adam Savage impresses me on so many levels. He creates (also replicates) the foundation of human imagination and creativity. He makes me always want to stay busy recreating every great moment of cinema, comic, and space. Adam Savage is a grown interpretation of my ultimate friend at 40 years old! I appreciate him very much!

suits a little to small in the 'pant' area, might just be the cooling vest taking up the extra slack but that looks like a size 2 small
Yeah. I think it's cause of the extra bulk of the cooling backpack.
Lets just be frank. The cut around the crotch is just bad, it looks far too tight and needed to be adjusted.

I get goosebumps watching this cause I relished that exact feeling since about 2005 when I made a special helmet and just started wearing it out in public in LA. If I got a dollar for every time someone would ask for a picture I'd definitely be thousands of dollars richer, and if I was up on my RUclips skills I would probably have been the original "viral" character irl. I still wear it sometimes and I've gotten similar fanfare when I've worn it abroad, but it's no longer as novel as it was back when people were still stuck on MySpace. Good times

I love this mans energy. Mythbusters literally molded my childhood and sparked an interest in engineering and I just love that Adam is still doing his thing on this platform.

@@tywillis2395 I think it's more that Adam didn't know he was going to be wearing the cooling vest when the suit was made, so the suit doesn't account for it. I think without the cooling vest he would be able to stand up fine and not have it so tight down under.

I got to spend NASA's 60th at the deep space communication centre in Aus. It was very cool watching the radio telescopes align to receive, watching info come in from the furthest reaches of space that we've been able to listen to so far, while remembering the beginnings of our physical reach for space.
Loved this cos-play. Made my heart very happy

Actually, if I'm not mistaken, space suits were designed to be worn sitting down. You can see older clips with astronauts walking to the shuttle with a bit of a "hunch". I'm surprised he didn't mention it, though
At least he did mention it in one of the "Sill Untitled" podcasts, I believe, how the suits were made for sitting and he didn't want to hunch all day.
I am so sad i didn't get to meet you are find you incognito but I am so happy that I was at the same place at the same time! Maybe if you go to NYCC next year again and so do I I may finally be able to meet a person so integral to my childhood and still relevant in my life today! Love you Man!

adam savage is probably one of my favorite people in the whole world. he's just such a laid back down to earth kinda guy and he is also an amazing source of inspiration and a great influence and advocate for science. i saw him in brain candy live at chicago and i am so glad i did. it was hilarious. he also kept accidentally hitting the stage lights. it was great.

I enjoy that you focus on the details to focus on getting it accurate as much as possible.
Prank idea: Go to a con dressed up in a stupidly detailed (and presumably very expensive) space suit with the visor down and a camera crew following you at a distance. See how many people say "Are you Adam?!". Respond by playing an Adam Savage sound board through a hidden speaker in the helmet. After they freak out take off your helmet and say "Sorry I couldn't hear a word you just said?"

Has anyone else ever noticed that they upload these along with the videos where he talks about it (the previous video uploaded) after the Cons? I think it's so that it's harder for people who watch Tested to know it's him if they go to the same Con.

If i remember correctly nasa has switched from dishwashing detergent to no tears shampoo as an antifog after the whole hadfield story!
