Wait until you see what's in store for New York Comic Con next week! For those of you in NYC, here's where you can see Adam (and stay tuned for an INCREDIBLE costume): www.tested.com/comic-con/888849-adam-savages-2019-new-york-comic-con-schedule/
adam I hope you will read it. thank you man, for all those vids and the tipps. really adam. you helped me so much and bring me back to build something. after my gramps passed away I wouldnt build anything and then i stumpled over your channel. and now i beginned to make a lil mencave in my house and buildin again.thank you adam, really thanks man....

Perfectly balanced.
Adam Savage’s Tested can you make a tardis or a sonic from doctor who
Is this different from the LA comicon cosplay where he walked around "incognito"?
i was so happy when i heard you had a panel, BUT then i saw it was 75$ just to hear you speak , so much for appreciating your fans.and if you wanna meet and greet is 125$
I like the new quieter and almost ASMR approach to the editing. Less music, more general shop/working sounds.
Manual Breathing lol I know I love it too
yeah I agree but I hate your username lol

Agreed, it‘s a good mix in this one.
Except for the sanding sounds. UGH! That particular sound makes me reel in person, and with headphones I have to mute it.
It was really fun to be able to see this costume in the middle of your nearly completed scramble. All the parts came out amazing.
Peter Brown Hey Peter. Love your channel.
Ur the guy that made adams book into mycarta then made a hammer out of it. Love your channel man.
That would have been so cool to walk in and see.
"These eye pieces look amazing! I bet you can't even see my eyes!"
"Can you see through them?"
"Oh yeah, I guess that's also important..."

It’s Just..... violently Adam
i love how most of Adams videos are just raw workshop audio and that there’s no added music or anything... i just love it
Yes!
i know its so relaxing
I learned about using aluminum tape from watching Tested, but I accidentally bought some waterproof aluminum tape and I found that it makes an incredible finish and the thick glue on the back makes it easy to make great nicks, lines, and battle damage. It makes weathering so much easier and more realistic too.
Kayte is always an absolute delight. So glad she collaborates with you guys so much
@Shitty Beatles second time I've seen you comment something like that on here about her
I can't tell you how long I've been waiting for this one day build!
2 Weeks
@@lasarith2 That's too long for me to wait lol
It's Trixs well congratulations you already did it 👍
The moment you saw this
Haha yeah I thought he'd do this one sooner
I just want Adam to walk me around the shop and give me tasks all-day long
ikr. he seems like the best boss ever
So you want to become his son...
I'd get nothing done and just play with everything
@@CrowBuilds talk about a kid in a candy store! :)
Bro.... yes!!!
Can't wait to watch this after work! Love any time Adam gets into his seam-ster groove
Currently watching DURING work, one of the perks of working in tech support XD
Have a good day at work
These one day builds series are so soothing, the length of the vids, the background with all the tools and whatnots, it feels so cozy, thanks Adam! 🇺🇾
I get so much joy from watching how happy Adam is about building cool cosplays.
I've been working on my own build for a while now, I love seeing how you're approaching it!
I just realized why these are called "One Day Builds". One day..I would like to wear that costume.
Lol
I love to see adam make cosplay and it fills my heart with joy to see how much passion he has to cosplay. Plz keep making more I enjoy it, and as a cosplayer I know it's hard but worth doing
The great thing about your cosplays is the attention to detail. Your whole team obviously puts a lot of work and care into these.
There is a part of me that is deeply satisfied by that 30 seconds of Kayte pulling off all the masking tape. That is always my favorite and most fear inducing part of a painting project.
Hey everyone! Those are my parts Adam is putting together! facebook.com/joatrashfx
love the longer video. one of my favorite things to watch on youtube
Back watching this after a year, one of my fav one days build vids
This is so amazing, thanks! It's strange that there would weathering on a helmet that is continuously being disintegrated and then re-materialized. You would think it would be perfectly pristine every time he re-activated his helmet. But I think it does look right. Maybe one could say the element that allows him to stow his helmet like that simply works by scanning the defined item just before de-materialization. So, as it builds up scuffs, those would be recorded and re-materialized.
You could also think of it as data degeneration -- i imagine that a full three dimensional object requires a hell of a lot of information to store in energy form, even for alien scifi tech. Maybe the compression required to make it practical results in artifacts similar to image or audio compression, which are realized as scratches and scuff marks!
Can we credit Mel Ho for her part in this? I had to Google who she was to learn that she’s Adam’s shop assistant and an all around badass. And here she’s striding in and stealing the show with her over the top crown and rad headphones - I want to see more Mel! More Mel!
No thanks, I'm here for adam looking so dedicated in making geek stuff he may or may not have seen the movie of. She appeared for few seconds and I forgot she was even there.
@Cdb Cdb it's because he went to college for acting as well as many years working behind and in front the camera. He is incredibly comfortable with being on camera
I wonder what she looks like handcuffed and covered in whipped cream... Just me? 🤣 (joking).
If you want to see more Mel then don’t watch Adam’s RUclips channel. It’s his for a reason.
@@wyattkethe8694 Mel doesn't have her own channel. If they want to see more Mel on RUclips then it will have to be through Adam's platform. It's not like Adam doesn't already have other people making Tested content smh.
Long weekend Sunday night. Model building and binge-watching Adam build models. Sweet!
It's finally here! Thank you Tested! Great job as always 💚
I think Halo 3 era Master Chief would be awesome for an Adam Incognito!
Brad so would a titanfall 2 pilot
@@facilityguard970 oh God yes!
Halo 3 EVA armor
Gas mask inserts in your eyeglass prescription work great inside masks. Also, check out the black series Starlord mask.
I love that you guys have some more awesome makers in Tested to jump in on builds like this.
With no artist skill of my own i love watching these one-day builds. Gives me inspiration to find something im good at and just do it
sign of the times, when Adam sneezed explosively to the side with a hand over his mouth i freaked out a little
After seeing the arm guard I immediately thought of obi wan kenobis outfit from the clone wars tv show and now I want to se that as a build.
Jedi Robes with clone/stormtrooper armor is kickass look and I wish more than obi wan wore it
Loved Loved Loved This ep!!!. Wish it would've last longer. Thumbs up for Adam, the camera man...And: The excellent work from the ladies!!! :D
Honestly one of my favorite builds and costumes by far, still to this day. Hopefully C-days will be over at some point and we will be able to get in-person collabs beind done with other awesome stuff in the near future.
As an etsy maker I love how you support the sellers there... great looking Starlord , great job team tested
I was looking for the Etsy links and what-not... did I miss it?
"start off with a gentle rub, and get slightly more vigorous"
Excellent advice.
hahahah
the image at 26:13 should be made into a picture! to me it explains the whole vibe of this channel and the shop. I LOVE the channel, and what makes it even better is my 5 year old son absolutely LOVES it too!! he calls it the Adam show ;)
So cool that Kayte is able to work on a project like this with Adam! I’m sure she’s learning a lot but it’s also showing off her talents!
Good lord, Kayte Sabicer hair is glorious!
Yes, it needed to be said.
Beautiful
So True !!!!!!!!!! Absolutely gorgeous
@@CreatureSH Let go of your pearls princess.
@@jarrett8042 You let go of your balls and wash your hands.
They also make chrome vinyl wrap, like they use on cars which has some ability to cover mild curves with some stretch and no wrinkles
I am so blown away at how fantastic that aluminum tape looks, especially after hitting it with the steel wool to give it the brushed look 😍 INCREDIBLE!!
That was bloody awsum, great to see some of your other shop workers helping too, great stuff Adam
Instead of aluminum tape check out lure making foil, you apply heat once you have stuck the foil on and it shrinks to the shape of your project.
I’d be down for a live stream of a one day build! Who else??? 🤘
This is my favourite costume, 'Stellar' Job, Adam and the Team!!
Adam you are someone I look up to, and love Myth-busters, and Myth-busters Jr. I hope you have a good life for all the joy you've brought me.

WE NEED MORE MEL!!!
Actually, we need more of all Adam's elves at his workshop.
It's a great costume! But I'm somehow mostly intrigued by the lighting of the eyes of the helmet :o
These longer videos are my absolute favorite
Wonderful work by everyone! Great costume.
Man, I wish that I had Adam's level of skills, resources, and patience.
Hahah the crown being worn around 11:10 is amazing

@@tested Well you have a phenomenal taste in accessories :)
GOD BLESS YOU MAN! I have been working on my Starlord for awhile and was so stuck on my leg rockets. Thank you so much.
Loved it thank you Adam and the team. I really want to make this cosplay myself one day.
Watching a one day build as I do one day builds ✌️
Its weird but the 10 min explanation at the beginning of what Kayte had to work on was really enjoyable. (Btw that wasn't sarcasm)
Agreed. Because Adam had to explain the work to Kate, we got a glimpse into his thought process, preparation, and the amount of detail that went into this build. Adam does not usually talk this much during a build. I usually skim through the build process for that reason. I find his collaborative builds to be far more entertaining.
I agree because we not only get to see his process & prep, but also how well he does in managing others. His experience in managing a shop and being able to parse out tasks to people that play to their various strengths, (all while not micro-managing and giving them some creative freedom) is incredibly admirable.
@@brittanyw6065 I agree, you could tell he knew how Kate liked to work & took that into consideration while clearly explaining what he wanted then trusted her to do it. Great people manager.
that stressed me out so much
Liking seeing the people who help you around the shop
I cannot stop fawning over Adam and his ability to put full faith in people while also handing them the keys to the kingdom. This man gives you everything you need holds your hand through it and KNOWS you can do it exactly like how he would want it to be done if not better!
are the STL files available? great job BTW
- 9 minutes in -
Me: Wow, I would have already forgotten some of what he told her
Adam: Clear as mud?
That clip-and-magnet system for the boot things is something I would love a link for! I have several items I'd love implement a simple system like that for!
A 40 minute video with only 3 mid roll ads. God bless you Adam Savage and God bless whoever made that decision at Tested
I dream of the day that someone says to me in casual conversation....."these are the leg rockets"
Inimitable.. I always learn a new word watching Adam. (so good or unusual as to be impossible to copy; unique.)
Doesn't intrinsically mean "good" or "unusual", it just means "not imitable" (i.e., can't be imitated). Something bad or ugly can just as easily be inimitable.
@@RFC3514 Webster gives it a positive connotation.. best I can do is use references..
@@RFC3514 I'm also sure adam intended for it to be used positively

I live for this content!!! We love you Adam!
Amazing work Adam! Good luck with future projects 👍🏻
As jealous as I am that you can afford to hire a squad of assistants to help you make your costumes, I'm really happy that you do it and that you include them in the video.
Some dream of working in Santa’s Workshop, others dream of Adam’s.
who would dream of working in an elf sweatshop
Would have loved to have seen more shots of the inside of the hero helmet. Caught a few glimpses of the blue lenses to filter out the red from the LED's, and it makes absolute sense. Fantastic engineering into such a well-crafted costume!
kayte looks and acts so adorable and her & adam's work on the mask is incredible
Is there anywhere to find the 3D files or are they private? The costume looks amazing
all the files are from joatrash. You can contact him at TheRPF! But that stuff is really expensive! ^^
evoxtremeskater ah thank you! I was spelling his name wrong haha
Thanks
In Adams workshop and saying "Do we have references for these?" LOL
Love the One Day/Week builds.
Not sure if you have tried graphite powder before, but it gives a great finish, you could also consider casting in a metallic resin, thats how we cast our predator helmets way back and they look amazing as you can polish the resin directly and it looks just like the metal you choose.
Adam should have been The Collector he could’ve pulled that off so well
If they ever do characters like Amadeus Cho, he would do really good with that. That dude's whole thing is just being an average dude with a dog who's insanely smart and technically minded. Look it up.
I think he looks like an old James Gunn
simple question: why no wig?
Simple and good question
Kos Tas most likely heat.
Comfort, I suspect. A wig would make the costume far hotter to wear. Most of the costumes Adam wears to these things are so unbearably hot that he doesn't last more than twenty minutes.
Guess he don't care much if people can recognize him right away... Not a big deal anyways
@@TheHenshinGuy He's usually recognized within five minutes of hitting the floor, even when covered from head to toe. If Adam can't hide his identity, then he might as well be comfortable.
Love it. Can’t wait to see the next one
I am in such envy and awe of the level of creativity in each build video, but is anybody else cringing at 13:30 when Adam starts drilling with his hand as a backstop?!?
"Do you have reference material?" Hahaha. Oh my dear...
For some reason you in a mask reminds me of Soldier 76 from Overwatch? 😂
That_0ne_0taku the hair
This is awesome! You both work great together
The aluminum tape... OMG... WOW... I love it when people share knowledge!!! Thank you Adam!!
[Cut to Comic-Con] Adam forgets his contacts, again.
“Star Wars guns are damaged...” didn’t think I would catch that did you Adam????
I caught that too but I'm pretty sure he said "star lord's guns"
@@rileyrichardson6262 Nope, go back, he clearly says "wars". Accurate, but obviously a little goof.
@@curtisbme 21:04 :...starlords...
20:25 "star wars weapons are a bit scrached up"
Yes I misquoted; he did say scratched up not damaged. But he does say “Star Wars” at one point and then Star Lord at another. I just thought it was funny cause you can tell how excited he is about the whole thing and just slipped up his words. Wars and Lord’s are pretty similar so easy mistake. All I’m saying is if Adam is in on some kind of GOTG/Star Wars mashup, then he’d better spill the beans. Also Adam, is you read this for some reason, a little off topic question: How do you feel about George Lucas coming out saying he’s disappointed in the direction Disney took Star Wars?
The thumbnail already looks amazing! So detailed 👀
Cool build!
Inside the lenses it would be good to add a diffuser or something to remove the hot points of LED light.
3:34 Mythbusters: prove that sneezing into your elbow is the best way to contain a sneeze
Adam: sneezes into the open/onto his hand
OMG Yesss I was like I've never seen someone other then a child sneeze like this lol 😂
I seriously think it’s time to stop calling these “one day” builds. This is multiple man-months work.
Ditto. I think "Adam Savage Builds: Thing" Works and makes more sense. But either way, still great content!
Agreed, this is high level complicated sh*t!
I would bet money that the videos get more views when the title says "One Day Builds" in it.
@@PJBxx Probably. And it started out as one day builds (or what was intended as one), the title just got repurpoused. It's fine with me, kind of an in joke because no one day build ever got finished within one actual day ^^ They even have/had a tshirt about that.
PJBxx No doubt it does. Just another marketing turpitude...
Such an awesome project. Amazing costume.
The only thing I hate about 3D printed anything is the layers that need to be filled and sanded. That’s a major reason I’m leaning towards resin. Takes longer to print, but the layering disappears. Also, I love using the aluminum tape. If you butt the seams so that you have a minuscule bump, you can burnish it with a bone folder, then wet sand it with micro mesh to whatever surface finish you desire.
Please keep the way you do sound. It's so nice and clean. Feels like I'm actually there watching you. Pretty immersive in a weird way.
Missed half the video just looking at Kayte’s long hair, beautiful.
I like one day builds to be just Adam - just my preference
So much work goes into one costume!
That's so cool! One cosplay I really think you should build, because I've been wanting to for a long time lol, is Dr. Octopus! Dude it be so frickin dope.
18:41
geeez Adam you look like your enjoying yourself there
Bizarre
Nothing like having access to a $20K plus printer. My guess, FormLabs SLS printer.
You could also order it online. There are quite a few services available that circumvent the need to own a 3D printer.
@@MartinFinnerup Very true, but have you priced these services out? I have. It ain't cheap especially if you want to use a printer like an SLS. In many cases it's cheaper to just buy the printer(s). A job I had quoted was going to run over $8K USD for basic FDM using ABS at approx 30% infill (every option has a cost tied to it)! And that was with our corporate discount! I was like, never mind, I'll just print it myself. This decision was very wise on many fronts since at the time I was just having a first run set of prototype mounts printed that changed very drastically after the first test. I ended up going through several iterations until perfecting the print solution. Still even had it been one and done the $8K just was simply not justifiable. In the end my PRUSA I3 Mk3 paid for itself many times over. I could've even justified having the company buy me a couple more printers just to speed things along, but I was able to make due with my own personal machine.
Adam has been doing this for so long. He doesn't need the machines he uses.. he built his own vacuum former :p im poor and it still works if youre willing to put in work!
sanding?! those prints look so clean to begin with! after some sanding theyll be so good looking!
I always wondered what a model-making job would be like - thank you for the insight
Department of Continuity here: there were a lot of shirt changes during your one day shoot. Also, awesome build.
To everyone saying this took more than one day, I feel like the name "One Day Build" refers to 24 hours total and under.
i work with charcoal a lot for drawings and it's so satisfying to see a fellow creator who isn't afraid to get his hands dirty
this was great! I loved this build..
