@@ronlagg5379 I looked at their 990 non-profit disclosures. People have been screaming about the greed and egocentrism of designers for years and no one cares. Look up for yourself. …so sad! Sounds like the BS that happened with all the Florida corps here in the 70s 80s and 90s! It just makes no sense because the ones that get hurt in the long run are the kids!
Full disclosure, I am a phantom regiment alumni, and I believe that the kids of SCV have every right to replace the SCV corps leadership. When Gail Royer was corps director, he also arranged the horn music and taught the hornline. Since Gail died, the corps has hired countless legions of "professional mentors," financial experts, and social compliance officers - to what end. THEY HAVE PROVEN TO BE LEGIONS OF INCOMPETENT PAID PROFESSIONALS. It takes a LOT more than putting a corps on the field. Don Warren used to say "the hardest part of drum corps is done on the practice field, and in the Board meetings. Disastrous decision making isn't unique to SCV. Last year, when Phantom Regiment desperately needed a corps director (in the second week of MAY) a multi-millionaire phantom regiment alumni offered to apply for the position and accept $0.00 pay for being director! Guess what, although desperate for cash to run the corps, pay for a new food truck, pay instructors, et al, the multi year alumni was turned down for the position, only to Pay (2) alumni brothers to both be co-corps directors. These are the very type of decisions that add thousands of dollars to the cost of membership. THAT is the type of "quality" decision making that also has caused SCV their 2023 season. Not one corps in existence will have been in finals every single year since 1972. Gail Royer would be livid. Don't get me wrong, SCV isn't the only group to have idiots running the organization - SCV is the most affluent group on the field, and not even SCV can overcome the idiotic leadership in place right now. The KIDS of Phantom, SCV, Madison, Cavaliers, Spirit, Cadets (and other groups), need to fire the lame leadership at every one of these groups. Care to know why it costs THOUSANDS of dollars to march just a few shows these days?? Look no further than bad leadership at your corps. Blue Shades 🕶️
First, Madison goes co-ed ... now SCV goes inactive, breaking the streak of finals appearances ... seems that DCI is where traditions go to die ... part of why I stopped any & all financial support for DCI after my nephew's final season with Magic of Orlando in 2003 ...
Please don't bother trying to change my mind ... it is MY opinion, and only DCI can do anything to change it ... and I am THOROUGHLY convinced that they never will, since what is termed "DCI" is (for all effect and purpose) BOA-Independent World Class, and has NOT represented DRUM CORPS in a LONG time ...
Madison is not "co-ed" it's gender neutral. If you knew anything about the accepting nature of Madison, you wouldn't wonder why they needed to go that direction. If you can't understand that, you were never meant for the Madison way of seeing things.
@@Apollostowel Regardless of why they had to go the direction they went, they will never be what they once were, and that's a shame. It's also quite hypocritical to be on your high horse about an accepting nature while rejecting someone's valid opinion. Where's your accepting nature?
@@Apollostowel Arguing semantics changes nothing … thanks for attacking me … that’s ANOTHER reason I eschew DCI - the attitude that who & what came before all-key tuning was substandard …
Marching Bands International.
I told people agendas were at play here, ultimately screwing over the entire activity and it’s fanbase. I was mocked for it, any of these commentators remember that?
LAMBRECHT 😱
WAIT WHAT HAPPENED
scv doesn't have enough funds to compete this year ;-;
They’re at least one million in debt and need another million to field a corps...
not having Ouroboros in here is a crime against nature
By 2017 18 19 22 - they were no longer Vanguard. No corps in 2021? Trouble was brewing. And even as good as 2018 was, imagine if it had been performed in their traditional uniforms?
You're kidding
Has DCI lost its way?
for about the last 20 years or so, yep. no disrespect to the performing members- the problem is the admin
The punishment for marching bent leg...
Femboy DCI 😳

Madison scouts wants to know your current location
I’m just now realizing that that’s the guard, I am stupid
