An amazing boat project. I briefly sailed an Open 60 and can confirm the transformation a few tonnes of water ballast makes to the angle of heel and speed. The heel reduced by 10-15 degrees and just accelerated to 20 knots! In colder waters, I would insulate the water tanks from the cabin. I hope they get the stability reviewed by a naval architect, I think Open 60's had a higher risk of capsize and remaining inverted.

so crazy to watch this, because I started watching their channel, then stumbled upon yours and have been binge watching. I'm no sailor but loves boats, boating and the sea and have some exposure to yachting via working at the Cape To Rio, Volvo Ocean Race, and also some experience with Vende having done some TV work during the Cape Town stop overs - plus worked along side John Martin who skippered Grinaker, and als he skippered Tuna Marine, another famous SA skipper was Bertie Reed - so all of this brings back so many memories

It's always fun watching your videos. The mural reminds me a lot of Norway with high mountains, fjords and a ram. If I remember correctly, has Nianie? relations with Norway. I think you should somehow save the painting, maybe it's Baksy. You both give a distinct impression of being Scandinavian even though you are American. I'm Swedish but with a typical Norwegian first name. The huts under the bench should line up with the bench. Let the huts stand slightly askew underneath. I agree with you that there are a lot of angles inside. It is important to simplify the appearance, so the impression will be calmer and hopefully more beautiful. Architects usually say "it's important to take a holistic approach"

excelllent prank on the youtube watchers i found the durcell guys a few monthes ago and signed up for thier journey as much as i like woooden boats. sadly so many classic plastic boats and being cut up after years in yards. moderan race boats have a very short shelf life being so extreme. the orginal open 60's are a good platform to build on in many cases massively over built and strong. personally id go for a ketch rig short masts and heavier keel.
