I tried getting this as my wedding song but she said so. I don't even miss her
I used Rainbow in the Dark and HE didn't have a say in it!
just spat my tea out all over my keyboard after reading this comment lol.
This song reminds me of my bachelor party where a 'lady' named Trish ( which also happened to be my future wifes name) started to ..um.. perform for me. That is one night I will definately never forget.
My wife and I are redoing our vows and we both love Born Again so "keep it warm" is our walk out song!!!
My late Missus would have gone for this...
The entire Heaven and Hell album is fantastic.
Not one bad SONG. Not even close.
A heavy metal masterpiece
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
My favourite album of all time!
Dave Swallow mine, too. It’s literally the perfect album.
this album was my first ever rock gig, 1980, bristol, england, now 54 still a metal head still going to gigs, life is good!
god damn perfect album
The world is full of kings and queens
Who blind your eyes and steal your dreams
It's heaven and hell !
No the world is full of stupid people who watch other people pretending to like music to get views on RUclips.
@@martymartin2894 HaHa,i think when Dio wrote the Lyrics, no Reaction Videos were arround....or RUclips in General :)
@@ingovonderluhe2174 what difference does that make. I've seen lots of this reaction stuff on RUclips lately and every song these people who do reactions are asked to do they always have a positive reaction I've never seen any of them have a negative reaction. Plus they all review famous bands with lots of fans who like to click on anything by there favourite artists.
Undisputed RJDio's superior poetic skill. NFD (no fickin doubt) 'bout that, brò.
@@martymartin2894 why do you keep watching it? Doesn't sound smart to me either.
Imagine this Kel-n-Rich. I was a junior in high school when this album came out> Here's the real treat all that same year the following albums were released Black Sabbath "Heaven And Hell", Judas Priest "British Steel", AC/DC "Back In Black",Ozzy Osbourne "Blizzard Of Oz", Motorhead "Ace Of Spades",Iron Maiden "Iron Maiden", Saxon "Wheels Of Steel",Diamond Head "Lightning To The Nations",Def Leppard "On Through The Night",Van Halen "Women And Children First"and Scorpions "Animal Magnetism"Now that was a year to be cruising and partying. Now I still listen to all these albums. Pays to be old sometimes!
I'm with you Rob! I got turned out to this album (and many others you listed) as a teenager and NEVER tire of hearing them.
One of my very favorite songs and album. Dio was so good. RIP Ronnie.
Dio was so perfect.
Dio 😭
Her eyes are the greatest reaction this world has to offer. Love you Kel. Miss both of you. Please come back soon.
Thanks RichNKel for proving that you are never too old for RocknRoll!
I am 58 this year and still love the Metal from my youth! From Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Priest and Dio to 70’S classics like Jim Croce, America, Steelers Wheel and Manfred Mann . The list goes on and on! Hope you find happiness and joy on your journey through rock history
Saw this tour, " Black n Blue" with Blue Oyster Cult, in '81, I was 16. Dio was undoubtedly bigger than the genre of the music, he was operatic. And he was just a joy to behold, the world was a better place with him in it.
Rip RJD
RONNIE JAMES DIO said this is one of the best songs he's ever written
He was just modest. He wrote many as good as this one.
I've read several interviews that he said this was his favourite. It's mine as well. I never tire of this one.
The whole Heaven And Hell Album is stunning. Just listen to Geezer Butler's astounding Bass lines truly awesome he is like a knife cutting through the darkness with his razor sharp playing.
One of my favorite Tony Iommi Solos... So great.. Legends
I still think this song as THE metal song. Rock and roll has Stairway to Heaven…heavy metal has heaven and hell. Every instrument, each musician, etc is absolutely perfect. Total banger that you can head bang to, just drop your head if you want and bob, or just throw the horns and yell…again, the ultimate heavy metal track
When GODS unite!....AMAZING Band,AMAZING Singer,AMAZING Lyrics.....one of the best Rock/Metal Songs ever written.....the whole Album is a milestone.....check out GATES OF BABYLON next....
Ingo von der Lühe You need to chill. What’s with all the capitals?
Oh man Dio.. Holy Diver.. and Last in Line.. Albums are just great ...
Ruben 1991 hell yea.Dream Evil album.. Night People🤘.... what about Sacred Heart.. song..🤘🤘
Fantastic Dio/Sabbath songs to listen to.
Sign of the southern cross
Children of the sea
Falling off the edge of the world
The devil cried
Shadow of the wind
Lonely is the word
Neon nights
Dio/rainbow songs
Catch the rainbow
Stargazer
I'd add Over And Over to that list.
...and Man on the silver mountain
Children of the Sea, awesome.
You have the cover of Born Again. Guillan’s song: Born Again.
@@gjijon yes I know I do BUT any of the singers that sang with sabbath are far better than pussy ass ozzy
falling off the edge of the world or Die Young are great Dio era Sabbath songs
Wishing well is probably my favorite
I love watching kels reaction when she hears new music. You can tell she's absorbing it and breaking down every lyric! She's awesome! Rock on metal chick!
You guys should definitely react to "The Last In Line" by Dio (album version) and "Don't Talk To Strangers", also by Dio (live at the Spectrum 1986). You'll love them!
"Last in Line" is one of my favorite go to songs.
Yup. Perhaps the greatest heavy metal vocalist.
Perhaps?
I love watching this over and over. When the music starts Kels eyes light up as if she just tasted sugar for the first time, It's funny and cute. I had the same look in 1980 when I first heard it. Neon Knights on same album was also a game changer for me.
Heaven and hell is one of the best song ever !!! (love from Sweden)
Mob Rules yes. The title song and also sign of the Southern cross.
Yes, "Sign of the Sothern Cross"...is a monster track
Up
'Falling Off The Edge Of The World' is also a killer track.
@@GordonHeaney . Love that SONG. That opening guitar. Killer song. A solid fuckin hit
@@livewire7388 All tracks are killer. Just different.
Anything Dio gets an automatic thumbs up. Dio was my gateway to Metal. Specifically the song/album "The Last In Line"
Peace
As well, Dio was my gateway to metal. Ronnie was a great man and left a legacy of music for us to enjoy! Cheers
Why do u need these 2 to pretend that they like it just go put on the song ureself.
@@martymartin2894 I don't 'need' anyone to like it. I like that they are giving it a listen.. whether they like it or not. I would give the vid a thumbs up even if they hated it as long as they explained their position. If you do not believe this.. then check out videos on "YouYouYou"'s channel. Plenty of stuff he did not enjoy. Also JuiiceTV.
@@uoabigaillevey I must admit I'd give this video a Thumbs up just for that girls chest wow.
@@martymartin2894 Heh you'd be much happier with google image search with the right query or pornhub. I'm about music.. left that other stuff behind when my daughter was born 20 years ago.
Dio once stated that he believed Heaven and Hell was the best piece he had ever written. So probably why it had that Rainbow sound
Still a treat to be enjoyed 42 years later. Saw the band on this tour at the Glasgow Apollo - amazing performance, even if I couldn't hear the train on the journey home due to the ringing in my ears!!
Great great great, one of my favorite all-time songs. I can tell you two are totally into each other. Congrats!!!!
love the reactions...Dio said the song was about the music industry: how they promise you fame and fortune, but use you up and spit you out. The song is really much more than that though, as it can be applied to so many things. Metaphorically, its a tale about how nothing is as it seems. If I had to pick 5 Sabbath songs as my favorite, this will always be on the list.
This here is the perfect metal song of all time. Every band member is performing at pure gold levels. Plus you get one of the greatest breaks & change ups in a song I've ever heard
My fave Sabbath song. Over Ozzy, over all of them. Was fortunate to see them do this live when they put together Heaven and Hell. Was life changing. They stretched it out, got theatrical, solo lengthened. To hear it live and how GIGANTIC it sounded was something I'll never forget.
Neon Knights from the same album was the first Sabbath song I ever heard, when it in the charts over here in the UK. Then I heard this song. I was fortunate enough to see them perform it when they toured as Heaven and Hell over a decade ago, and also when I saw RJD's own band. What a voice.
Saw them on the Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules tours. The smoke in the arena was so thick, they didn't need a fog machine. Two of the better concerts I attended as a yout'.
Great! Love the track Neon Knights with Ronnie/Sabbath. High energy rocker 😀
Kill the king, from Rainbow - “on stage” is an amazing recording. Cozy Powell on drums.
Neon Knights is another jamming Dio Sabbath song! Great guys!!
A close second would be Neon Nights . I could listen to these two on infinite loop and never tire . Also gotta say that if you relied on the radio that you probably missed out on almost everything .
I remember when this came out it came out right about the time of back in Black from ACDC. Nobody really knew after Ozzy left what was going to happen with Black Sabbath. this was truly something magical that brought us into a new era a wonderful time for music and growing up and all of the things that were a part of it. No one really expected this second phase of Black Sabbath to be this good. In many ways it was much better than so much of the ozzy Sabbath.
I got to see this line up a couple of times at the Hammersmith Odeon in the early 80's. I sort of knew I was witnessing something a bit special.
mojobag01 Me too, happy days.
And me Edinburgh Odeon
I was lucky to see Dio here in Chile a few months before he died, and I was impressed with his charisma and his voice managed to fill the whole place, and in that moment I understood why he is one of the greatest voices in history. of metal. Once again, great reaction.
Its been 10 yrs & 5 days ago that Dio pass.😥😢. A very great loss of a great song writer, performer, & definitely a great vocalist a great loss icon to the heavy metal world rest in peace Ronnie James Dio
i saw them live 4 years ago. what a sound they release.
How have you not heard this song? Heavy metal classic!
I knew someone had to have said it. I don't see how it's possible.
It depends. Sometimes people are forced not to listen to this stuff when they are young. Then When they get older it's probably still unknown because of it. So when they "discover it" later in life it's like an awakening. I think they explain it in a queensryche reaction
Guys really need to do Stargazer as well from 🌈 Rainbow ☺ one of Ronnie's crowning vocal performances and one of the best ever period 🤘🤘🤘 also Gates of Babylon. and Kill the King (Live in Munich)
Black Sabbath is kind of unique with the way their music is so heavy without being loud and fast. It's just, heavy.
Ja, that´s what we call doom(-metal), doomy, doomy-gloomy. You´re welcome ;-)
He's and hell Is my favorite Sabbath album.
One of the best songs ronnie has sung. Almost anything he touches was great.
You are totally right.
Rock in peace.
This song defines Metal.
you might want to give mob rules a whirl if you like heaven & hell. the second album with RJD at the helm
Greatest metal song ever, IMO.
Great choice. Every time you guys react to a song that both of you have never heard before takes me back to '85/'86 when I was in 9th grade and me and my buddies would be listening to these tunes for the first time. Thank you and Rock on!!!
#painintheask
Rainbow- Gates of Babylon
greatest metal singer,classic song,awesome lyrics
RIP, Ronnie James Dio! Love Kel's reactions! Man she's a keeper for sure! A beautiful soul! Rich, you're alright too!
I went to see Black Sabbath with RJD on 24th May 1980 at the Odeon Theatre New Street in Birmingham UK. I was 15....WOW great memories!!
‘Lonely is the Word’ is my personal fave of the Dio years.
Listen to Die Young off this album it has the greatest break into a guitar solo I have ever heard, it still gets to me and I've been listening to the album since 1980!
Amazing that neither of you had ever heard this before. This song, with it's steady galloping bass line, had massive play on FM rock radio upon it's release. This original studio version is the best one. The live versions never cut it for me as Ronnie would turn it into an extended audience sing-a-long.
Sheer class absolute barnstormer of a song. Ronnie was a little poet when it came lyrics. The mould was broken when they made him. R.I.P. RJD. Hard to believe its nearly 10yrs already.
Great reaction from the 2 of you as always. Keep it real 🤘🤘
Falling off the edge of the world from the Mob Rules album.
Yes! Such a classic and rarely reacted to. One of my favs.
An awesome riff by Mr Iommi
This is the Song that turned most of us 70/80s kids from hard rockers into Full on Headbangers! Before the kip wingers, brat michaels and the nelson bros came along and wussied up Metal music.... I remember reading an article about Ronnie in Circus Magazine where he said, qoute " You will never hear me sing a song that has the words " oh baby " in it.". Words to live by....
Metal + classical guitar always= awesome
Me and 2 of my friends went to see them in concert in Memphis. It was a 3 hour drive. So we did some mesclin and we had no tickets. Plus we had no clue where the ARENA was. Somehow we got there, bought tickets from a scalper for $10 set one section up from the floor. Then the guy setting next to us had some hash. Best night of my life.
Very cool that you're checking out all these great classics. Keep it up!
The moon is just the sun at night! Saw this tour in Texas what a show! Peace!
This album was produced by Martin Birch who also produced several Iron Maiden albums, his influence cannot be understated. This album is a must have in any metalheads collection.rest in peace RJD
the record is a masterpiece
Kel really got into the song, great reaction remember the moon is just the sun at night!Legend R.I.P. Ronnie!
Such a brilliant and almost underrated guitar solo by Tony. One of my favorite guitar solos of all time
747 ? .....OK,Saxon with 747 (Strangers in the Night)
You should try Black Sabbath, Voodoo, amazing song and one of the best riffs of all time, great job, look forward to more from you both....
Cathedral - Midnight Mountain
Uptempo doom grooves with disco and funk fusion. Insanity personified.
R.I.P Dio !!! One of the best singer (love from Sweden) !!!
My personal fav. Children of The Sea/ Black Sabbath 😀👍
my fav sabbath song too
One of my favorite songs and albums 🖤
This and "Sign of the Southern Cross." Two epic songs
Heaven and Hell is definitely the most iconic Dio album and I would also invite you to experience "I" from the Heaven and Hell reunion album and (I'll get crucified by the Dio faithful for this) his last album Magica. I saw Dio 4 times and Magica was the last. Even then, he was sick and frail looking from the cancer, but still had the voice and the power of his performance.
I don't need to imagine it, I saw them on this tour, July 1980. Four-band concert, known as the "Black & Blue Tour," featuring Black Sabbath and Blue Oyster Cult. They swapped headlining duties on the tour; the show I saw Sabbath headlined. Blew that 16 year old kid away! Openers earlier in the day were the band Riot (not Quiet Riot, just Riot), and Molly Hatchet.
First time watching you. My favorite song period, of any band. Any sabbath with Ozzy or Dio will be a delight to your ears.
I use to listen to the Heaven & Hell 8 track cruising out to Palm Springs to see my Ma.
The whole album kicks butt!
Can you imagine being an adolescent....not quite a teen...when all this great metal was coming out? Having all your hormones racing and discovering things outside of your parents AM radio Pop and Sunday music? Stuff like Heaven and Hell is the proverbial "kid in a candy store" fodder. You had Sabbath, and Priest...Triumph, Rush, Y&T, Rainbow, Saxon...whichever shelf of candy you wanted it was there for the taking...and I wanted it all. I know Rich is acclimated to a lot of this, but Kel is way behind most of us and its a pleasure to be a part of her metal progression and watching the wonderment and happiness as she samples each new piece of candy...like me once upon a time.
Hope you got a good dentist!
You don’t hAve to imagine this in an arena because this song is recorded live on the album Live Evil😈
I love how Kel lets the music wash over her soul and she just lets it carry her away. Very cool.
Saw them on Mob Rules tour at the old Boston Garden and they did this song. It was so loud I couldn't hear right for a week! Wouldn't trade it for anything.
Everything DIO says you have to listen to atleast 50 times because it has so many deep meanings, he is a philosopher and a poet and a very good bass singer.
kel n rich you are superb, i,m a massive black sabbath fan so glad you appreciate great music love you both.
Those eyes at 6:17 , Kel , your Life HAS Changed - you do realize there's no return now right :) I started on my metal journey in 78 or so. Our crew was the local metalhead walking encylopedia ( in the days prior to wiki , OR internet for that matter ! :) ) When Dio took the helm with Sabbath , it was like a dream come true, as we all knew about Ronnie from Rainbow. Interesting how the three bands are linked that way. Purple also had a major come back in 82 with Perfect Strangers. Then, when Ozzy ( well Sharon ) found Randy Rhoads and went solo, Metal changed again ! AND THEN - Dio went solo too !! AWESOME !!! You have A LOT of studying to do ! Love your channel - I just found it tonight, but its spot on , one of the best reaction channels out here !!! Great JOB !! & Rich - I hope you're ready for this ! Your life just got REALLY interesting my friend !! :)
I seen Black Sabbath along with Blue Oyster Cult August 1980 at the Metropolitan Sports Center, Bloomington, Minnesota (BLACK AND BLUE tour).
This was awesome. You both rock. I love how Ronnie, Tony, Geezer and Vinnie's musc transported you both. I highly suggest checking out Tony Martin Sabbath. Eternal Idol is a great album as is Tyr which is weofully underappreciated. My favorite Martin-era Sabbath track is Rusty Angels. There's a fantastic live version on RUclips that has a really great guitar intro.
Bill ward get it right.
Falling off the edge of the world on the mob rules album is an unbelievable track with Dio and the band in great form!
I just love Dio. His voice was a great instrument. And he was a great performer.
"falling off the edge of the world" is another great one from the Dio-Sabbath era for me.
I love the unadulterated reactions from each of you on every song you've reacted to. Metal is our music, old, new and whatever is coming. You should sample Liliac, an upcoming family band of Metal fanatics. Rock on!
Unadulterated… That may be the best word to describe what we're doing together! Thank you for shining the light on the unadulterated ones! Just saying that makes me smile from ear to rear. Please… keep your comments and thoughts coming. We will definitely check out Lilian. Which songs?
This song is very amazing, i love this. Dio and your vocal wonderful
"Can you imagine this in the Arena?" Don't need to. I saw them on the Heaven and Hell tour. :) Yeah, they were THAT good.
8 miles high about to fall and no one there to catch you!!!! THE SIGN OF THE SOUTHERN CROSS!!!
Ya I can imagine this in the arena since I saw it in '83 during their Born Again tour. Was a great show!
"Rock in Peace," I like that...
Dont need to imagine it...I was there. Best show ever.
It is wonderful to see your first reactions to Albums that were such an influence to me. It's like hearing them for the first time again. Please keep going...Pink Floyd The Wall? Whole album first reaction? It's a commitment, but an experience. The movie really adds to the experience too.
Whoever put the lyric video together.....an Ozzy photo on a Dio song? Nicely done. Trip to the opticians.
DIO ~ All The Fools Sailed Away ~ Last In Line ~ When A Woman Cries....etc.
Check “ falling of the edge of the world” from Black Sabbath - Mob Rules with dio
