    goo video on the Exlnaton and the Amea angle showing what haening as fa as Trucks and Pulling , i just like using Factory set ups on a Truck that’s way overrated for the Task i kind of found that out by aaccident sort of by buying a One tonDually DeiselChevy to haul a 20K 5th Wheel originally and my 10K Fishing Boat but over time i downsized to a Airstream which was way lighter and to a Waterski Boat for a Lake house having that heavy Suspension without much weight on the Hitch keeps the operation so Stiff i used to add weight purposely by filling up Water tanks before a long trip to actually soften the suspension for a more comfortable ride for the passengers

    Can you explain more about the arc of the spring and the arc of the traction bars?

    • @BDDieselPerformance
      @BDDieselPerformance  Год назад +1

      We designed the traction bars to best follow the arc of the axle travel. As the suspension travels, the leaf springs length will grow (during compression), and shrink (during droop). This causes the axle to travel a unique arc path. We designed the length and mounting point for these traction bars to best follow this unique path, to ensure the bars don’t bind the suspension, and only resist axle roll.

    I've been having a shit load of trouble with my carrier bearing failing. I've replaced it so many times now. I was told by someone I would like to trust that axle wrap can do it. But honestly when I look at the rubber on the carrier bearing after it fails. It looks like forward and back movement is what is killing them. Didnt look like much forward and back movement on that driveshaft in the video. BD Diesel, could you lend an opinion?

    Does the reverse happen during engine braking? As in the axle will start rotating down instead of up.

    • @BDDieselPerformance
      @BDDieselPerformance  Год назад

      When you decelerate, yes the axle will do the opposite and try to rotate downward. The traction bars will also hold in this direction.

    • @matthewvarnam4302

      Anything can be worn out and have wear and tear....my guess is that you could always unhook it and re-weld the groves and gouges and the cuts it will make and then hook it back up....That's about the only thing that I can think of.

    "the don't bind up"
    *Never explains how they don't bind up...
    That style of traction bar will always bind up under articulation, droop, compression
    Leaf springs do not follow the same arc as a rigid bar on a pivot

  • @myccielab
    @myccielab 4 года назад

    not a good solution, rear leafs axle movement is straight up and down, but your traction bar end require circle movement, finaly this situation during larger movement will cut off bolt on one or another side and could lead to car accident or damage

    • @chrispartaka9164
      @chrispartaka9164 3 года назад

      myccielab Have you seen the BDS traction bars? They seem to have an answer to your statement.

    • @jacklikescrack4054
      @jacklikescrack4054 3 года назад

      Leaf springs do not move straight up and down. They actually have a little bit of an arc that they follow because of the shackles as the suspension loads/unloads. If made correctly the traction bars can follow this same motion. Or another common fix is ladder bars, which are basically two bars welded into a V that mount above and below the axle and are connected to the frame through a shackle which allows the rear suspension to move without any rotation.
