Yea I remember when air driers became a thing for semi's and guys were welding brackets to there frames then later getting cracked frames. Something about metal embitterment from welding already heat treated steel frames.
I made my own for my mega i used 3/4" hiems on both ends from ruffstuff. I used 2.5" black iron pipe. 10,000km so far and no issues and no squeaking. That iron pipe is tough shit
How do you have your bars adjusted? I have mine loose to where on level ground I can grab them and rotate them back and forth with the heim joints and jam nuts tight but now i have what i think is clutch bucking? Wondering if i should tighten the bars up to where they cant move at all.
Awesome video once again. If i lived closer to you, I would have offered to put down a stack of dimes for you. Also as a side note on the welding vs drilling holes. A faulty weld that may cause a creep-rupture aka microscopic crack will cause more damage than a drilled hole. Because the crack will continually grow from the stresses in the frame. In fact a drilling hole is round and therfore harder for the metal to shear. Any professorial fabricator will tell you to round corners of you are cutting a section of metal out. Hope this helps and keep up the amazing videos!
Hey I just stopped in at DNR customs and showed them the video you made .. you should reach out to these guys about future Parts and builds . Derek Rose is the man / owner.. we also worked on my truck. Stopped in there today to get some fass filters
he was little surprised , but i got a good impression from him . couple of the guys in the shop said , yeaahhh thats probably why we have gotten a lot of orders . lol everyone in the shop started watching your vedios on my phone .. then moved to the computer .. but for real , reach out to him.. never know what will happen ...FUCK do i wish i could get some help of parts & stuff ..
is there a limit on how long the traction bars can be I have a 2000 Silverado with a 10inch lift and desperately need traction bars. love the channel and all the info makes me wish I lived in new jersey
Hey so im curious about a couple things. Is their any way it would rust between the bracket and frame rail? and the most important question I have is, from the heat from welding the brackets onto the diff, would that screw anything up inside? Thanks so much for making this video, I am going to be doing this to my truck very soon.
The actual Caltrac traction bars are actually designed to not make the suspension bind thru a complete suspension cycle. As compared the ones installed in this video. However if it's going on a heavy duty pick up that never sees suspension squat I see nothing wrong with the ones Installed on this video.
Do you recommend traction bars for heavy hauling? I have a 2010 Cab and Chassis crew cab and I am worried about the pressure / axle rotation that the traction bars will put on the axle when 4-5 thousand pounds are placed on the bed of the truck. I also have airbags.
Traction bars would help but they can cause binding on your suspension especially with large amounts of suspension travel. If you keep it fairly close to the same ride height it would minimize any binding you do get though. It's a bit more costly but I'd do latter bars over traction bars. They keep the axle from rotating but don't bind up the suspension. The whole point of either traction or latter bars is to keep the axle from rotating. Which keeps the yoke in better alignment, keeps the axle from rotating which causes loading & unloading of the suspension which leads to wheel hop, & the rational force that is generated is transferred into better traction when set up correctly.
I have no idea how those ramps are holding up that truck scene I used to own a pair and they broke when I used them to change the oil on my Jeep and that thing barely weighed anything
I'm not sure what your really referring too?? There is no inspection for diesels in NJ, but the traction bar parts? I'm confused what they have to do with emissions testing?
I'm new to lifted trucks and got a 6in RC lift with 35s and someone told me to put some of these on and don't know the purpose? can someone explain please?
+GREG_ALBERALLA Can you post links to where you purchased all the weld on products at. Id like to weld on my own stuff and I only need rears for my truck and id just love to build my own.
Jesse Name their pretty expensive. If I was more of a fabricator I wouldn't mind to make some myself but at the same time. Anymore the truck sits at the house
Sadly I know all to well how that goes. I have several sitting for various reasons while driving a beater. It's sad when it's cheaper to buy another vehicle than just the parts for one.
GREG_ALBERALLA For a 2008 with G56 and Southbend 3600 Dual disk clutch I have seen a lot of wheel hop and bucking while backing up. Are traction bars a good solution for that problem / what do you recommend?
Before I installed my bars on my 4dr long bed I was getting a lot of hop, and couldn't even do a solid burnout, The traction bars took care of it and feels a ton more solid.
GREG_ALBERALLA That's really good to hear. I drive like an old man (no burnouts) but the axle wrap drives me crazy. Especially backing a loaded trailer. I may have to look into this. Love your vids, keep up the good work!
For the people who tend to stay away from welding, BDS makes a set of traction bars that don't require welding. Great video guys.
Yea I remember when air driers became a thing for semi's and guys were welding brackets to there frames then later getting cracked frames. Something about metal embitterment from welding already heat treated steel frames.
i dont even own a cummins let alone a truck. but your channel is fire. keep up the good work
Thanks!

How do you only have 11 thousand subscribers your vids are great man.
Thanks! Every thumbs up and share counts!
DNR is about 30 mins away from me. Billet Bitch is going to be nuts when it's done. Great vids, just got my 06 a few months back.
Sent you a Facebook message
This is funny. Old school stuff here. Shout out to when you were in JERSEY. Lol. No worries im a Jersey, Philly guy myself.

On their website it says "logo not included unless installed in house." Did they do something special for you or did you special request it?
If you mean the DNR logo it comes with it if you get the full kit like they did
How to do pre load the bars? is one end left handed threads so you can just turn the bar like a tie rod sleeve to adjust the load?
will traction bars improve ride quality when towing a dual tandem gooseneck trailer with a big load
yes
Bout how much it cost you to get those black powder coat moto metals and which version are they?
Semi tractors are bolt on frames... do you think that you need a greater strength?
so what do these bars do exactly? instead of spinning tires it will stand up the front end type of thing? full traction?
BigB it helps prevent wheel hop
Helps wheel hop traction Strater driving truck
is there a limit on how long the traction bars can be I have a 2000 Silverado with a 10inch lift and desperately need traction bars. love the channel and all the info makes me wish I lived in new jersey
From what i have understood the bars are suppose to be long enough so the angle of the bars match the pinon angle of the rear axle.
I believe the cal tracs are meant to plant the tire better than regular traction bars.
if youre never gona take it off u can plug weld those bolt holes for more work i mean more strong
DNR is by my house. Love Derek Rose!! Going to UCC to see him there and support

There is nothing running thru the frame so I don't see ant issues with things like that.
But on the diff too? Thanks man!

Greg, I'm interested in buying my first diesel, it's an 01 24v dodge cummins. Suggestions. Do or don't? Help me out
Those welds are really short...why aren’t they full welded?
Subscribed a few days ago, nice videos so far!
what tubing do you recommend?
The thumbnail than Andrews truck makes me wanna get my traction bars powered coated now :(
What is the wheel and tire setup on the tow rig and did it rub?
Do you have a link to the brackets? The same ones you used
Will these work on a First Gen I have the same truck as yours
What do you do for a day job ... ? Just wondering . Great vids keep it up man 👊🏼 jersey lol
zachary palczynski he never responds to that question ? Maybe it's an illegal job !!!

Will these DNR Traction bars work on a 2016 with rear coil suspension instead of leaf springs?
Awesome video, so was everything stick welded? And you probably could've plug welded those bolt holes too. Looks great though 👍🏻
Yes, and yes we did all that as well, Thanks!
Hey Greg what kind of piping did you use?
Ever experienced the death wobble on any of your trucks? I'm currently having that issue on my 06
replace sway bar bushings
Nice, Jesse the new lovely assistant 😂😂
I have no idea how those ramps are holding up that truck scene I used to own a pair and they broke when I used them to change the oil on my Jeep and that thing barely weighed anything
DNR customs worked on my 03 cummins .. local shop for me .
At the beginning I thought who’s that with Jesse, oh that’s Greg without a hat. I didn’t recognize him with no hat on.
would have been helpful to provide links to the diy kit
Is your google broken?
What size tire are you running again?
Where did you buy the tubing at
damn how the hell do you get away with emissions inspection livin in jersey. or did the parts ship from jersey.
I'm not sure what your really referring too?? There is no inspection for diesels in NJ, but the traction bar parts? I'm confused what they have to do with emissions testing?
Did he weld the brackets to the frame with a stick machine?
Mopargocar Looked like MIG to me. If that was stick, that was some GOOD stick work.
No it's definitely Meg
Flux core
I'm new to lifted trucks and got a 6in RC lift with 35s and someone told me to put some of these on and don't know the purpose? can someone explain please?
francisco santoyo axle wrap not fun
what's the wheel and tire setup?
Greg do you run traction bars on your tow rig?
Yes with airbags
Aren't them just for axle rap not really traction bars. Like Cal tracks ?
how much does powder coating run you around you
+GREG_ALBERALLA Can you post links to where you purchased all the weld on products at. Id like to weld on my own stuff and I only need rears for my truck and id just love to build my own.
What's the thickness of the pipe ?
What size tubing did you use?
He said it in the video
what wheels are them in start up screen?
22's
where do i find these at????
Greg at 1:06 you showed your address on the box might want to blur that out
That's Jesse's address lol, feel free to send junk/hate/fan mail there lol, Thanks tho!
GREG_ALBERALLA lmao. Or free truck parts!
LOL, free truck stuff and fan mail can come to me, everything else send to jesse haha
Word just making sure you knew. See you on the next one.
Jessie cracks me up
leds behind the DNR axle mounts
i have small T bars on my 1500 and anyone ever put longer ones on? i like that look.
Professionalism goes a long way!!!!! good info though.
THROWBACK
cool vid guys
Thanks!
At what horsepower would you recommend putting on traction bars?
Drew L axle hop happens on factory trucks, so pretty quickly lol
Yes, even a stock truck can benefit from them.
yo Greg where can I get those dnr brackets
DNR website lol
why not ladder bars?
Is say mostly cost but could be some it's good enough attitude. I'd definitely go with the latter bars myself
Jesse Name amen brother!!
Your logo looks a lot like the OpTic Gaming logo. same type of font.

No hat!?
I want that snap on jacket
I did a walk around on my 2nd gen on my channel
My buddy's dad owns Calvert racing
That's awesome!
What size rims and tires brand also please
should've gotten a roadmaster
Do not weld your frame! It's hardened from the factory and meant to be bolted (which is why his kit came with bolt holes)
😂😂😂 no they're meant to weld on some are both on but most of them are weld on, it doesn't hurt the frame lol
rip ground clearence
should change out the hardware in your traction bars for grade 8 man... that grade 5 stuff makes me nervous....
