- With all the racing sims seen over the years, from Project CARS 1 and 2 to numerous Forza titles, there's something special about a new Gran Turismo. Perhaps it's because new titles come around every couple of years but Gran Turismo Sport is still a welcome addition to a packed 2017 line-up. Why does nobody speak about split-screen mode? This is a rare functions in current generation games, especially racing.
Razvan Tel People are too busy with concern hating they just miss how amazing the game is.
Bro i wish nfs payback or a free roam racing game had split screen, that last one i remember is back in the ps2,

here,,, found out that there is no "progressive campaign" like the old GT games with start car and drive to get better cars and licens. :/ pff just a arcade driving game.
Me and I felt stupid when I just wanted to race and had to wait 20 minutes for a track that I didn't even want to race on. Turned it off and haven't been back to it. I guess it's back to GT5/6 for me.
The game is clearly advertised as a driving sim, But don’t just give up because you want gt3 or 4 to be remade. There are plenty of things to do in GTS. It feels amazing when u find that good tune on a car and whoop on your friends. I have spent probably 100 hour already just in the livery editor making many variations of designs on all my favorite cars. The game actually makes you feel like you are a race car driver, and I’m only using the controller not a wheel. Apparently the VR stuff is incredible tho i have no VR thingy. The limited campaign is appropriate because it teaches you how to play and drive better, which is what the game is all about(driving sim). GTS rewards you for driving good and places you with similarly skilled players. Make some friends get a lobby going try all different kinds of cars, and setups. Try out the go-carts(many irl race car drivers start their careers in go-carts). There is also a car i compare to the escudo from gt3?4? But its got downforce and hella brake power its fun as S***. So give it another chance.

I love this game it looks incredible it handles and feels great. Gran turismo was always been the best and still is, and I love that flashing light thing that tells you when to brake and what gear to be in. And the sensation of speed is very real, unlike other racing seems that feel numb and lifeless. This is the best racing SIM ever made hands down. Love it
The biggest thing you need to know when tunning the cars in the game is that the Toe Angle setting is set back to front in all the cars.Its setup like a front wheel drive car for all the cars that are in the game.So for a rear wheel drive car the Toe Angle should be switched around.So the Front Toe Angle should be positive and the Rear Toe Angle should be negative.The rear Toe Angle has more influence on the car to turn sharply than the Front Toe Angle.
Why are all devs making these new games online multi players only. I was so hyped sense hearing that a new GT was coming out. Now I'm bummed out and will not buy the game. What a shame. Not everyone wants a stupid sweaty ass multi player online game. I want to sit back relax and drive in a solo campaign mode.

More cars and tracks coming with updates, also in GT6 cars are ported over from earlier versions with crap graphics and interiors. The cars in GTS are SO DETAILED and everything is just better (apart from choice lol)
Quality over quantity?
The graphic especially the lighting is AWESOME... this game looks "alive", as oppose to other racing games that feels rigid.
I think that VR tour mode is one of the most significant feature coming with up GT Sport.
I want a good autosports game that works well with controller. I got f1 but want some GT. Is this a good idea to play without a wheel? Or should I just go with GRID (2019) which is more arcade-like ?

I'm sad, instead of building on the succes story GT1 to 4, they choose to head into a different direction. I just want a used car dealer ship like it had back in the day. Buy a car you could own yourself and tune it a bit to stay ahead of the competition. Also Mazda 787b, all those and more missing factors will make me not buy this upcoming Gt:Sport, i grew up with Gran Turismo, bye bye my love..

You didn't mention that the eventual car count is around 500, and the cars/track DLC will be free. This has been announced.
Campbell Troy 500 cars at the end, all free but you have to wait for them, also they still are 220 cars off Forza Motorsport 7, andbit already has 720 cars at launch, and premium DLC (7 cars) every month and premium expansions every 4 months (2 in total) down the line

When racing online on the Nordschleife, I often made a lobby where all that changed during the race...

Hi, am a Nigerian, internet access here is more expensive than school fees. i bought the Gran Turismo sport, and am stuck at playing only 6 tracks, how to i get to unlock other features of the game. i'm almost frustrated.
Gotta love the background music, that even was outdated when Top Gun had its premiere, in combination with the obvious fysics engine in the game (floating cars) that was outdated when Gran Turismo 5 was released. Having a very hard time to believe that this will be the rebirth of the series.
Just bought the game and I immediately notice that you can't buy engine and transmission mods. Use to love to find used cars and build it up and new wheels on them as well as changing your oil and carwash.

Internet connectivity shouldn't be required... make a game that can utilize internet not rely on it. Forza 4 was a great example of this.

Lawardy Fewd - I think he is referring to the rigid chase cam which has been in every single GT game.
I prefer the rigid chase cam over the one in F7 tbh.
Vruinz they've added in settings for the chase can now, this way you can adjust the "sticky-ness" of the camera to your preference.

I wish they make the car tuning and upgrades more detailed like old versions, not just upgrading the level without knowing what parts where changed.
I like how the winner actually receives a Cup. About time players get something that is actually a real item. Maybe not the same, but in game, like RR3, where they would like you to spend hundreds of dollars, it’d be great to actually receive a model of the car your spending all that money one.

You have to know what you're getting before you get it. I think the aim of this game is to turn racing into an e-sport. Think about fighting games and fps games, they're mainly played online, GT Sport is trying to do the same thing with the racing genre.

I still have a deep affection for GT; that said, it seems that the promise of the earlier games still hasn't really manifested. For such a fetishistic and detail oriented game it seems as though the developers are trying to balance aspects that didn't bring us core fans to series in the first place. I think the majority of fans would be perfectly content with a more robust selection and a refocusing on the single player experience. I don't mind a smaller vehicle selection if they're given the Polyphony treatment but compared to previous games on aged/inferior tech its strange to see how comparably anemic it feels now. Sure a lot of that is licensing fees but I'd prefer more vehicles from less expensive licensing contracts as opposed to fewer but more exotic cars. A big part of what made GT so initially compelling was the off chance that your real world car would be drivable. No one can ever knock the jazz infused classiness of the presentation; every GT looks and feels like a thoroughly considered and legitimately "grown up" piece of software with a tendency to understand the less is more approach to menus and the like. I have no issue whatsoever with multiplayer centered games; especially online shooters where my objective isn't about steering a handheld avatar through set pieces but GT is different inasmuch as the personalized sense of connection with your garage and the highly personalized tuning and career progression is a major factor in the enjoyment of this series. I guess it feels like they're spreading their attention to detail thin and as such the game feels considerably lighter. I hope one day we get a fully fleshed out firmly numbered entry but at this stage in the PS4's life cycle and Polyphony's release pattern I'm not hopeful. I love GTS but it feels like another one of those pseudo sequels where a handful of aspects are maximized at the expense of the core experience. Hell, I'll say it; I'd be happy if they "remastered" the last version of GT2; they can even add an online mode but I think the majority of us would be grateful if they'd just make a full single player career focused game. And lets take assisted driving off of the default setting, what say? Oh, and go ahead and give us some weather affects in lieu of minor (again with the expensive licensing) real time vehicle damage.

im gonna miss starting out in a coupe and working my way up to the muscle cars then finally the sports cars. also will miss building my collection. also i will finally have to give in and get playstation plus. polyphony knows what they are doing so this game should be amazing either way and i will definitely buy it.
I know this is years old now, but I just recently bought a Logitech G29 for my PS3 to play gt5 and gt6 only to find out that the clutch and shifter do not work on PS3 which is the only reason I got the G29. I don't know whether to buy a PS4 and GTS or if I should buy a Logitech G27 for my ps3 and then sell the Logitech G29. I can get a like new g27 for the same price as a ps4. I thought for sure I would go with the PS4 but I hear that sucks. If anyone has any advice id greatly appreciate it! Thank you
Disappointed by the lack of single player content. Despite the beautiful graphics and highly detailed cars, the lack of dynamic weather and the lack of a true career mode like other GT titles is a letdown for me. Even PS2 games had rain and a decent visual damage model.
This is going to be a good game for sure, but the studio behind GTS wasted a good opportunity to make a great game.

Dude if you want rally mode just get project cars 2 I mean in pc2 you have rally, snow, a full 24 hour cycle, dynamic weather including blizzard conditions, 170 cars without future dlc, awesome graphics, and physics {as long as your computer is strong then graphics are dope as AF], supports 12k, oh and vr, a long ass campaign mode, great multiplayer so long as your not racing with a bunch of morons, And that's all i can say off the top of my head P.S. the game also supports a triple monitor setup.

Apparently you don't need plus to play gts online according to the website, could just be for the pre release demo though.

For those who don't already know, single player cups are making a comeback. Sunday cup, Clubman cup, FF, FR, MR, 4WD and Boxer cups will be coming in December as free single player content.

According to PureAlpha1206: “I’m pretty certain that you will need to have PS Plus to connect to online as with anything else. It's just a guess, but you probably won't see yourself among leaderboards of any kind without it.”
Another, from GTPorsche: “That's how it is. If you want to play in an online multiplayer environment with people, you need PS+, unless it's a free to play game. Betas are not exempt from PS+ requirements either.”
The last one I found is from Mike_grpA: “I do know how it works, as I have a PS4 and have had PS+ for a bit now. However, before I had PS+, I could still play some games with limited online functionality. In Driveclub for example, I could still make a club, get other people in my club, compete in time trials, and have my times appear on the leaderboards, when I didn't have a PS+ subscription. In The Crew, I could join online free roam sessions without PS+. I couldn't join races with other people in either game, but I still had some limited online functionality. All I said was I wouldn't rule out GTS having a small amount of online function without PS+. You definitely won't be able to race against others online without it, but you may be able to have your time trial times appear on leaderboards. Like I said, DC allowed it, and that was a PS4 exclusive.”

The one thing that turns me off is lack of dynamic time of day and weather. Its one of the most important things for atmosphere and giving a game a more lifelike feel. No new game that considers itself a sim or resembles realism should be without it.

yo but like, you dont have to ever use them. The loot boxes give you mod cards and driver gear. Shit that is not even needed or wanted. I'd rather have an extra feature in my game that I will never use than buy a game with overall less polish and content

Look, I was really looking forward to getting a new Gran Turismo game soon. I loved GT4 to bits and liked GT5. GT 6 however, burned me. And now... THIS:
GTS is essentially GT4 Prologue with new cars and graphics. The staggeringly low content, no day/night cycle, no weather, the usual derivative GT handling. Tell me, who would buy GTS over Assetto Corsa? At least with the latter you get the best handling and physics models available plus so many free and top-level quality mods.
GTS may very well be the new low point of GT, something I would never have thought I´d say again after falling for GT5 and GT6. Polyphony Digital, you´ll receive no more of my hard earned money!
Assetto corsa mods? yes on pc not on ps4, and don't forget that assetto corsa is pick any car and drive, here on gts theres progress to do.
Okay, but WHY would I want to unlock all the content I paid for instead of being able to enjoy everything I paid for from the get-go? This is what made me hate games like Battlefield...
I paid for the game, I want to experience the full game, not play 100 hours trying to fly SUAVs into people because that is what I need to do in order to unlock the next inconsequential gadget.

Jeremy J. Gt5 was fantastic. Gt6 was much worse than gt5. I will probably still get GTS because it looks good. What is that other game u mentioned? I've never heard of it. Is there a career mode? Is it easy for beginners?

It is by far my most favourite racing game thus far, but I have to say a big part of that is the gigantic database of superb mods you can get on PC. The game is also available on PS4 (and I believe the XBox as well? Not sure), and for me the PC version is by far superiour.
It´s not perfect, there is no functioning weather system nor day-night cycles, but the physics and handling alone make the game worth every cent in my opinion.
