I failed over and over on Suboxone....trying to taper from 4mg or 2mg down to 0 in 10-14 days. After day 7 or so when id get down to .25mg id wake up sweaty, cold and depressed and run to get something ASAP. This time Im taking months to go from 4mg to 0. Currently at .5mg. Dropping 10% every 10-14 days. SLOOOOOOOOW for the win! We got this! Update:; I slowed the process down was patient and I'm currently 4 weeks free of Suboxone

You got the right idea, but you did go too fast. basically after 2mg, it is insanely harder imo. You can easy go from 8 to 4, then to 2, but seems after 2, go much much slower. I was reading at the .25mg-.5mg range, you can basically go to 0 when you are stable. And dose every other day, or every 3-4 days, it's "mostly placebo" (whatever that means).

@@Christ4Life777Addiction effects three areas of life, physical psychological and social. Suboxone allows these all to heal. Dependence is different. Not all dependece is bad. That kind of social shaming is what leads many people to use harder drugs
It is a drug that can and should be used indefinitely by addicts. That is the issue. Trying to come off the drug is unnecessary, and it reverts the brain to seeking a full agnonist receptor high i.e. the initial stages of withdraw from harder drugs taken before Suboxone.
Taking the prescribed dose is the best solution. If a patient feels they need more of this drug they need 1. A dose increase 2. An improvement of psychosocial health 3. Both.
When the dose reaches that person's personal celing, then only the psychosocial conditions can be improved.
In summary, your lack of education leads to you shaming and advising, when you have no business doing either.
Jesus is not a replacement. Religious hallucination activates parts of the brain similar to morphine, and anti-depressants (excessively).
25% reduction is a limted case-specific approach for emergency inpatient tapering. Stop spreading misinformation. The receptors are not "healing" That is not how neurobiology works.

I was a fool to romanticize heroin. Every single author or musician I ever loved had a addiction to heroin and as a fool I ended up trading a cocaine addiction for heroin. I was 23 years old. I treated heroin as my girl, but for everything I ever gave her she only returned pain and torment. I been arrested twice, I have a criminal record, I lost two girlfriend to my addiction. I'm gonna, be 40 this year so I say half my life I've been addicted to heroin. I've kicked heroin cold turkey each. The longest I ever been clean is two years, but I relapsed in 2020, now it's 2022 and I'm kicking cold turkey again. I just got to take it one day at a time and if I feel like using I just remind myself of all I've lost. I hate heroin. I hate it because I know it haunts me, with a snap of her fingers I fall to my knees. That's why I keep on going and hopefully this will be the last time I kick. Four times I've failed, I got clean and then relapse and then again and again. So yeah I gotta man up and take care of My sister and mother because that's all I have left. That's all the family I've got left and I gotta make it up to them. Because I can't fail again. It's gonna be hard I know but I'll never let that monkey jump back on my back again. For anyone who's ever lost a brother or sister or mother or father to heroin, I'm sorry. Heroin takes the people we loved too soon. I've lost four friends to heroin. I've o.d. many times and I actually stopped breathing once. I'm still here and it's for a reason I guess. So heroin the thing I want to say to you is good fucking bye. Your hurt so many and taken so many lives from all of us. I ashamed of the fact I fell in love with you, I'm ashamed that I put you first instead of my family. No more. If anyone has an addiction still, I pray for you. I know how much it hurts the withdrawals and sleep less nights. But what's the point of living if you're numb to the world. Pain is living, life is hard and cruel.... but I gotta keep going and keep at it until the day I die, until then I'm gonna live my life the way I should of been living it... happy and heroin free.

One when I wake up and one a hour before bed. Thanks to these I’m able to sleep. I can now go days without it but sometimes my mood is affected. This really gives perspective to how much an addict's body chemistry is different from other people... A dose that would just make an addict feel normal would make most people go through over a day of OD symptoms.

I am on 16 MG of subxone and I was on 50 MG of methadone and I still am not stable because I still get withdrawals. I get major headaches on subxone compared to methadone.
I was on methadone for 6 years and believe me and anyone reading this please please please please I beg you not to go up. I was on 95MG of methadone and I wasn't even a heavy heavy user. I only did morphine and not even heroine or fentanyal and I never injected, but these stupid doctors kept on making me go up and up to the point that my body got used to it. I can't tell you how much time it took me to go down to 50 MG and this week I just transitioned to subxone which isn't doing anything but I am being patient.
Because of the methadone I lost my job, my career, my life and now my body craves it all day long so if you are starting on methadone please don't go up any hire than 40 MG and subxone you don't need more than 12 MG.
This is a business for the big pharmaceutical and doctors. My life has been ruined because of this and I have never been more depressed, out of focus in my life. It would have been so much easier to come off morphine. Coming off methadone isn't that hard compared to what I heard how subxone makes you feel which is even worse.

I am 4 weeks clean off heroin. I went cold turkey and I stole from my mother and sister to keep my fix. I did awful things, but they have a love for me that this is like my fourth time kicking heroin, but this time I wanna make them proud of me. I understand you love your daughter, but you gotta understand she's the one who has no right to be angry at you. But please try your best to make contact with her. When I kicked heroin back in 2018, I lost my father and he never got a chance to see me sober and it kills me because I didn't get to say goodbye. I was living out of town trying to get my life in order and next thing I know I get a phone call from my mom saying my father passed away. I drove back into town for the funeral. I didn't cry, I was just lost. I was sober but he didn't get a chance to see me sober, please just try to make contact with your daughter because no matter what she's done she's still your daughter, but she has to make the choice to get clean for herself. If she's still using then try your best to get her help. If she doesn't want to do that and if she doesn't want to talk to you, then you just let her go, turn your back I know it sounds mean, but if she doesn't care for you or at least try to make things better, I'm sorry. It's how it goes, my name is Mark and I am a recovering heroin. Every day it's a battle but for my family I'll go through hell and back for them. And I know you don't know me , but I just want to tell you that you are loved. Your daughter will come back to you. And if you ever want to talk about anything I'll listen, I understand addiction and I understand the pain I put my family through. Just don't give up and you'll see.

Before I was an addict, and only occasionally took Vics, Percs, stuff like very very rarely. But once back then I took the exact same thing you said lol, "the stop signs" took one of those, and I was completely fked for days... I even couldn't even piss for 2 days oddly. It was the most horrible thing ever lol. Wasn't even an enjoyable high. Yeah, I got crazy tolerance. It's nothing for me to snack on 20-30 blues a day while washing it all down with buzz balls or if I can get it lean. My friends always stare and say thing like "you're crazy" and my response is to use the stapler on my hand and show them I can't feel anything. It' so much fun when you don't feel anything and have amazing energy to sit on the couch and move in and out of sleep with that cozy blanket buzzing up and down. I saw someone take two blues trying to get cool like me and they started throwing up. While he was barfing I went over and told him in his ear... "you can't catch me I'm the thirty blue man"...man, never saw someone throw up and laugh at the same time before.

We started kissing, for maybe 10 mins & I went to work. Later on I called him & he was sick as a dog. Said he felt like he was going to die & puking nonstop but didn't know why bc he was fine then BAM & had been that way for several hours. As the night went on & I was thinking ab him it just hit me, I made him sick 😭 I had ask him if he could taste anything when he kissed me not bc I thought it'd make him sick but bc it's nasty. He said no & I couldn't taste it anymore. So needless to say we don't kiss for a looooong time after I take it now 🤣 I told my group & they thought I was crazy & said no way.

Man, my first opioid was suboxone. A longtime friend of mine, he's older, gave it to me. I'd been wanting to do oxy's for a while. He was a hardcore heroin addict that had already gone through the motions for years. I remember I did a huge favor for him once ( I think I got him money for a fix and didn't ask for it back) and he gave me like an 1/8th of a strip or less.
I was like wtf is this? acid? He was like "take it". Man, this was the day after a hurricane had passed, everything was destroyed, we had been working for hours and I felt fairly tired. When I took that, 30 mins in, I felt like superman. I had never felt euphoria like that in my life. I went and I was working like a fucking machine. Everybody was like "damn, what got into you?" I was like "I just love helping" lol.
    Then I smoked a cigarette.
God fucking damn. I have NEVER had a tastier cigarette, except when I did my first 30 and 40 OC.
I was nodding off for HOURS AND HOURS. But I also felt a little sick on top, but the euphoria was so overwhelmingly goood. And the itch, ugh ❤️‍🩹
I regret every single fucking day of my life swallowing that strip.

no offense brother, but it’s painfully obvious, (no pun intended,) that you haven’t had an addiction to opioids. i’ve never experienced subs the way you’ve experienced them, because when i took it it was coming off fentanyl and the only thing it did for me was level me out and rid me of withdrawls. of course the first hour or so always feels relatively euphoric and you get a nice energy boost, but the best part is you don’t crave any opiates. i used to sit there and purposefully think about doing fentanyl or something and not feel any desire to do it. in fact, in the beginning being on suboxone, i would still hang out my old friends i “used with”, while they were using and it didn’t bother me too much. anyways, im off all of it now, including subs and honestly the first few weeks coming off the subs were pretty hellish mentally, but after about a month or so things got sooo much better. i just look forward to normal sometimes mundane things and enjoy my life the way it is without relying on something every single day.

My chronic pain has just about crippled me, i've lost mega lbs & the Dr see's that I look like the walking dead. 🙄 He jax me up to 24mgs/Day, which in the very beginning of the treatment I was scripted. I have found these conclusions:
1: When your body gets to accustomed to taking Subox, you either have to take 3 or 4 days off any kind of opiates (Subox vacation).
2: I then take the three 8mgs Subox films all at the same time. I have found when you reset your body's tolerance (as much as you possibly can), this is the time to jump back in & hopefully the body's tolerance doesn't remember.
3: Even tho my Dr's orders specify I take a strip thru the day, I take them all at once. I desire that soothing sort of Euphoria that the Bupenorphiene gives me. I remember a time where I had been clean for a few weeks, then I took one strip. WOW, I was on the Highway almost falling asleep. I was sooo relaxed. So, it doesn't give you the 'punch in the gut' high. More like a wonderful soothing type Euphoria. 😌

I recently started buprenorphine for chronic pain therapy. I was on what I would call a moderate dose of 2 other opioids prior. So my tolerance wasn't zero, but it wasn't high either. The doctor prescribed me 8mg twice a day by using his conversion calculator. I knew I was switching, so I took some time to do some research prior to the appointment. I thought 16mg/day sounded like a lot, for me at least. I was expecting 4-8 mg/day. He did tell me to start with half and see how that went.
I decided to start with a quarter, so 2 mg. I don't think I could effectively cut them any further. But I'm glad I didn't decide to try the whole dose in one go. Even with my tolerance, that stuff just zapped me the first couple of days. I was nauseous and pukey the first day. And then just so sleepy (but not sleeping) for the next couple. Just like he described.
I'm several days in now, and I'm definitely not needing the full 16 mg/day. I've been taking 6-8 mg at most. It does seem to be an effective pain medication, at least for me. But yeah, those first couple of days were really something, even with the smaller dose. It's hard to say if the full amount would have hit me any harder, because like he says, it does have kind of an odd ceiling effect. It's like you reach a certain threshold where you just know that taking more will do nothing for you. Whereas other opioids will offer more relief or a better buzz, if that's what you're looking for. I don't know if that will change as tolerance builds or not since it's still early for me. But I'm going to try to stay low since I've heard it can be a beast to come off of.

Im not qualified to make this call but just saying Suboxone never made me sleepy and from what I remember everyone else at the rehabs said it gave them energy boosts as well. I have heard of people nodding out from buprenorphine but typically that only happens if you're new to the drug or if you take a significantly large dose, cause anyone on subs is already very tolerant to opioids and Suboxone is basically only like a half assed opioid. It doesn't fully agonize the receptors it's only a half agonist and it's a half antagonist. So yeah nodding is not possible for most people on it but it technically can happen

👏👏👏Were you looking for a pat-on-the-back or something? Being on 24 mg of buprenorphine doesn't make you special lol in fact it's like the standard dose that most Suboxone docs prescribe the average patient unless you are coming off an absurd opiate habit. If I had a dollar for every time a junkie told me that they had the "mega" and only turned out to be like 3 to 5 grams of brown a day🙄 don't get me wrong that is an above-average habit and that happened to be mine 10 years ago when I was using but hell one of dealers would do such fat shots he had to use the 5ml syringes and his rinses would have me AND my friend completely nodded out before pressing 30 out of 80cc in. There's always someone with a higher tolerance in you and I always found a cringe when people say they have a very high tolerance because from what I've seen that the people saying that always had the lowest tolerance in the group lol

I got very angry/irritable when I was on painkillers for years
Especially if my tolerance was too high and I didn’t receive any high from the tablets
Just sat there thinking of all the wasted tablets I should’ve saved for later when my tolerance had hopefully dropped a bit

This is so accurate . First time I tried suboxone I had a mild opioid tolerance. Dude busted a tiny line down in which I laughed saying “this ain’t going to touch me “ so he gave me a bigger line (maybe a little over a 1/4 of a pill). An hour later life turned into the exorcism and I was projectile vomiting for hours and was so dizzy . I literally was messed up for 3 days ….years later I became addicted to them . Your tolerance never really builds with them like other opioids. You can do a 1/4 piece and be fine all day . Very tough to come off though . Wds aren’t as harsh as the other stuff , but they last significantly longer . Took me 10 days

@@J_GoTTi yea that's just too far people experiment with ridiculous ideas and waste money or someone could have used it when I got it off the st (traded for a bar,) I told o grl I'm trying to STOP shooting up and her response was " oh u can. Shoot up Suboxone just dissolve em in water..." Like did u now hear me I know she did but fuck Suboxone any precipitated withdraw is the worse shortish but intense withdrawal... benzos are bad but replaced or tapered and it can be done humanely but there is our part where we must stay awake for a week as a price u pay and sleep deprived hallucinating is a method of torture to this day... Hope whoever thinks of trying or doing it again... doesn't ...I'm no1 to talk but sometimes we gotta man up bc I need to face the fire I started myself...

Started with pills from an injury then when they cut me off went to heroin. A very popular story apparently. A good percentage of opiate addict like me start the exact same way. Buprenorphine is a partial opiate. Suboxone adds a naloxone as a kicker for the other opiates/opioids, which is an opiate overdose remedy. If you haven't tried opiates/opioids, 2mg of Suboxone will get you very warm, almost full opiate high. 4mg max for first time users at first. If you do 8mg right off the bat, you will puke your brains out. And yes, the high is very long but usually involves very little to no withdrawal. Now, long term use you will have withdrawals after quitting cold turkey. It has a half life of 4 days, so if you've been using it like I have for 8 years, stopping without a ween off will result in horrible, almost impossible to tolerate withdrawals.

@jimmyf9545...Not sure where you got your info but it's terribly inaccurate. The half life of suboxone is 24-48 hrs. Not 4 days my friend. Bup is a partial agonist that helps with the withdrawal of opoids, naloxone (narcan) is an antagonist that "caps" the euphoric feelings. If a person takes it correctly it works....if they take it incorrectly....well you get the picture.
